All about a little tournament in France this year: THE RUGBY WORLD CUP!
Not my usual video, but really enjoying just talking teams and and the tournament as oppose to rugby strength and conditioning. Though the next videos will certainly be back to the serious stuff with science.
Scotland are in a tough group this time around, but that will make it an even better story when we progress through!

I love your optimism, and I'd really love to see Ireland and Scotland get out of the group, but I cannae bloody see it happening. I can see Ireland beating SA, but I think Scotland are unfortunate victims of a terrible draw and they'll bow out 3rd in the pool. I'm Irish and I'm hopeful of getting past the QFs, but who knows? We're good enough, but will we be on the day? - I can't wait to find out

It’s going to be a big first game for us that’s for sure. We manage to get a huge performance there, we have a really good chance.

I get it, Ireland don't have a great world cup record. I'm loving that everyone is writing them off and nobody seems to think Ireland can beat either France or NZ despite the fact that they beat both last time out. We are going in under the radar and all the pressure and focus seems to be on SA, NZ and France. NZ are not the team they were but nor is Ireland. Scotland are the dark horses here and any neutral will want to see them do well. They play a great brand of rugby and deserve a good WC, I just hope it's not against Ireland.
I’m hoping it’s a Celtic connection out the group stages and we’ll meet again later in the tournament. That would be brilliant.
After watching Ireland's warm up games I'm glad we're up against Romania and Tonga first because there's still plenty of rust on the team. Scotland, on the other hand, are in fine form and I think playing SA first could work out well for them. Group B is definitely a three horse race.

This is not the Ireland from 2019. I’m confident that they can beat any team - they have done in the last 18 months. We haven’t seen Ireland at full strength yet, and they’re definitely holding things back. I think everyone has forgotten they deserve to be number 1, which is great for us. The great thing about this World Cup is that all the teams have gotten better apart from Wales and England and anything can happen in their pools. I think it’s more open than people realise and there’s gonna be a lot of upsets on the way to the final. Can’t wait for all the games. This will be the best World Cup ever and whoever wins will really deserve it.

The Boks won’t be worrying too much about Scotland. Ireland however are a tricky proposition.
And that’s exactly where we want them 😉.
The World Rankings are a very good indicator, as are the betting odds. However World Cups are funny things - some teams thrive under pressure & rise to the occasion, other teams fold.
It really is anyones game, any team is capable on their day, and no-one can predict an upset, but for me (as a Kiwi and avid AB supporter) I think the chances of winning are....
1. France
2. South Africa
3. Ireland
4. New Zealand
I'm picking a France v South Africa final, & France as the winner. Obviously I hope I'm wrong & I really want NZ to win, but if I had to bet money, this is what I would bet on.
However, I really hope our Pacific Island friends do well. (Tonga, Samoa, Fiji). Their respective unions have virtually no money, rugby means so much to their people & they play attractive rugby with huge hearts. These tiny nations also produce many of the world's top players in disproportionate numbers to the their small populations & they deserve to do well.
I think there were seriously only 4 teams that could have won and they were the teams you listed. Other teams were capable of causing an upset but not (say) 3 upsets in a row.
The most unpredictable tournament is the 6 nations it seems 😂. This year has been chaos.
South Africa going out in the group stage is just asking for it in the comments🍿🍿🍿

Despite all the laughs and emojis, the boks dropping two games to Ire and Scot isn’t delusional or a even huge upset. It’s literally the toughest pool ever. I reckon they’ll all drop a game each; same with the top three teams in Pool C and D. All recent results show how close the gap is now.
Good point. The gap is closing between the traditional powerhouses of rugby and other nations. As a fan, it’s great to see.

As a SA fan I hate to agree with you, but I do. SA has such a difficult pool and although SA looks dangerous, Ireland and Scotland are as dangerous and playing against them is extremely difficult. This Worlcup is going to be exciting.

It will be Ireland's best WC, Scotland is gonna feel the world cup pressure, France is gonna be heartbroken on home grown advantage, facing a wounded AB team is gonna be hectic for them, I fancy a complete outside country in the final against either the AB or Ireland or Scotland, south Africa in the finals
I don’t know, I reckon France will perform every game in this WC (in contrast to other occasions for them).
As a Kiwi Samoan,I know Samoa wont win,but if we(the Manu) can just beat everyone especially England and Argentina and go QF win or lose im happy heck even making SF we will be having flag parades like we did for Toa samoa

@randymarsh6679 I think you should talk ur team up, it's my country and we're still the world champions 😉and we beat you because the ABs cracked under the pressure the boks put on them, and because of that pressure from min 1, the ABs made mistakes and coughed up penalties resulting in those yellows cards, a direct result of pressure from which they couldnt recover. That's how we won the game.

I know you qualified that you would be bias over and over again, but then the only reason to watch your predictions is for amusement value rather than for meaningful input. As things turned out Scotland lost convincing to SA and Ireland. And to boot, Scotland had at least one South African playing for them!

Scotland have a much much much better chance against Ireland the South Africa. In-fact I've picked Scotland to beat them and get out the pool. Which is huge for them. Ireland are able to peak and win when other countries are experimenting- they can experiment in their club games. When it comes to everyone putting out their best, Ireland are likely tog et stuck every WC.

Poor analysis on Wales. Australia and Fiji both played their best teams in the warm up games. Wales only did this in their England games in Caerdydd. There were 12-13 player changes in those games. Therefore Wales will perform as they did against SA or in London. Why? Fiji have 1pro team. Edinburgh are awful. Scotland have 1 good club side in Glasgow. No, I'm sorry but no.
