      @@Baz502 sure, but "so many" doesnt mean all and "loads" doesnt mean none. I mean this guy just said he had Scotland and Ireland going through in the group. How many people said Ireland and France would be the Final, including this guy? To get that you have to have France beating NZ *and* Ireland beating South Africa *and* Ireland beating NZ *and* France beating South Africa. Sounds very much like underestimating to me. To be fair the bookies actually agreed with these guys winning in the knockouts, only the scotish going through was a bit of a edgy call.

      @@cinramscott9160 you can definitely see bias in all supporters. I agree with that. As far as the bookies go I dont follow betting odds. Would those not be influenced by the biases of the people betting?
      I was following rugby websites and, later, the rugby vision predictions. The algorithms i saw had NZ and SA as favourites. The websites generally leaned towards France or SA. People like Clive Woodward were predicting complete NH dominance. Again.

    I think your predictions were fairly solid. But you know the Bokke. In 1995 I bought the first ever SA Rugby magazine. I was a student with no money but I entered a competition to guess the winner of every match at the tournament. I sent in my entry (much to my girlfriends disgust as we were broke) and a few months later found out that I won the competition (a brand new TV & VCR). That girlfriend forgave me and is now my wife of 30 years. GO BOKKE!!

      Ireland are scandalous. They always try to cheat and came with that mindset to the W Cup !
      First match v Romenië 11 illegal side entries before 12 of their tries.
      Illegal double banking in line-outs before tries by Gibson-Park and penalty try v NZ. Also Jordie Barrett held ball up in NZ ingoal area after illegal line-out.
      The world of rugby does not need cheats like Iteland to be world champions. It would put the game in disrepute. Quite a dishonor able scandalous approach and Ireland should be ashamed of themselves. Disgusting !!!

    The major problem that the NH teams experience is not skill or belief or any lack of talent..
    It is the continued and consistent belief by their fans and media that they are OWED Rugby World Cup success.
    When either Wales or Ireland or France have been successful they are built up to be the team (or teams) that will end SH dominance and "bring back Rugby".
    SH Rugby is then written off, either in total or at least with the exception of the All Blacks.
    My humble opinion: NH Rugby is simply not as good as it percieves itself to be. It doesn't compete on the same level as SH Rugby. The sooner the NH accepts this and goes to work fixing it, the sooner they WILL be competing for World Cups.

    • @videovibes56
      @videovibes56 Před 7 měsíci +1

      There is no problem with NH Rugby and they are as good as the South if not better, SH players flock up to the north to play their club rugby, we pay their salaries and train them and they compete along side northern players and represent northern clubs. Ireland have beat SA twice and NZ twice in their 17 game winning streak. Munster also won the URC. Ireland just lost the QF by small margins, there is no particular reason why, there is no curse, there is no nothing, they just lost on the day, NZ showed up. Their run came to an end. thats it. if Ireland played the game again tomorrow the result would be different. To say the North isn't as "good as they perceive itself to be" is ridiculous, its you trying to get a sly dig into the northern Hem rugby and countries. The wrong bounce of the ball doesn't make a team bad, The four top teams are as good as each other but someone has to win. thats it, thats how close these games were. Ireland also play in a style other teams won't even attempt as its so difficult. show some respect. Not to mention the U20s world cup final was by two Northern hemisphere teams.

All you do is point to Ireland's 2023 dominance, and forget that the SH has been dominant for 100 years. And that's why you'll never win a WC. The Northern hemisphere has learnt how to play Southern hemisphere rugby, in no small part due to the southern coaching influence. So it's like they've got a new toy and are very proud of it, so proud in fact it seems like they not only reinvented it but have mastered all of its intricacies to the ninth degree. Combine that with tighter refereeing and you will get a more solid game. But to be fair they have not taken it to the next level which is where they will find their southern counterparts. Rejoice though because with SA heading north an improving northern game is inevitable.
