- Hundreds of residents at a mobile home park near Moreno Valley face the threat of losing all power and water service by mid-June after allegations that the owner of the park hasn't paid its bills in more than a year. READ MORE: abc7.com/hundreds-of-resident...
He wants everyone out. Without tell them he wants them out.....
this is true....they'll probably sell to developers....and use that money to pay Edison...
Looks like he got an offer to sell.
seems like the owner might have plans to sell the land and make money. force the residents away and sell the land.
So it is illegal for a homeowner to shut power off on a squatter, but this is ok somehow.
The question is who is responsible for supervising this RV park and what, if any, policies do they have regarding RV parks, renter's rights, etc. While the address places it in Yucaipa, CA, location-wise may place it outside city limits on the border of a National Forest while the nearby agricultural community of Oak Glen had less than 700 residents in the 2010 census and may not even have any town government. So, is the county responsible?
The city needs to recognize what it’s doing before just blindly following protocol and completely ignoring the consequences for the residents
Between they haven’t pay rent since COVID-19 and it’s baloney the truth is probably in the middle. Maybe the city should step in. Look at who paid the rent and who did not and act accordingly!
I find it wild that a power bill unpaid for 1yr? Try 45 days in my neck of the woods shut off meter either clocked, locked or removed.
Receipts would clear this right up
Over $600k? How is that possible?
The math doesn't add up. 687,000 @ 100 residents = 6,870. if that's been over 3 years since covid, it comes to about 190 a month for each resident. that seems awfully high for those campers. although the well pumps run on them also, and I'm sure the park has other buildings and lighting for outside, but those costs should be on the park. The residents need to show receipts and hire an attorney.
Not Possible,,,👍,,,,

Nothing about that adds up
Edison should have shut off the power month's Ago ! And place a lien against the property !
Edison did everything right. The landlord can't stop utilities it's called constructive eviction
Sue the owner
they aren't stoping the utilities they can't afford the utility land Landlords need money for electricity so tenants need to pay their bills for that to happen. its very simple landlord dont mean endless free money pit.
@@robertking3090 and if the tenants have been paying the owners and the owners never allocated the money to pay the electricity then whose fault is it!!! You think a Kumar is going to be Honest!
Landlord ISN'T shutting off power...the power company CAN and IS....HAPPENS OFTEN.
@@robertking3090 landlord says he can’t afford, but provided no evidence of the statement. it could be true or false
Why is America getting so bad
Vote blue no matter who has consequences.
giving billions to ukraine, israel and other far away foreign countries, taking in millions of illegals and giving them assistance , president who is out of it completely
No morals and values.
BIDEN...
91 inditements, 30,373 outright lies while POTUS.. speaks volumes!
They haven't been paying their rent since covid but the residents say they have. Somebody at your company stealing money.
The Entire Area can be closed indefinitely then!
Install individual meters
Happened in Fontana, electric use to be 120-400 but now 20.
I want to see an update on this story...
Here's a situation where hundreds of law abiding Americans who played by the rules could become homeless bc two giant companies are arguing. Once they are homeless they will receive no free housing, no free food and no free healthcare. They will have to watch non citizens who broke federal law and have never paid a cent in taxes to this country in their life receive free food free healthcare and free housing from the government. All on the back of their tax money.
We don’t know the whole story, except for the one lady who paid $4,000 to move in.
These situations happens with apartment complex also there should be stronger laws in place to keep large companies from doing stupid stuff like this seems most that are affected by stuff like this is those living in trailer park homes.
They probably aren’t all law abiding citizens bc we know the type of people who live there on that Meghan’s list.
@@TheRealCcE ahh yikes did not realise that.
Fraud is fraud.
Why not the electric company take them to court take ownership of the trailer park that what they should do
This is why Utilities should not be operated by private companies
The only way to handle this is with individual meters. But, it’s expensive. That has to be built into the lease. I would look for a solar solution. 🤔
That’s why you have an RV. Move it!
Why aren’t all those people living in the resident suing the property management company
Seriously?! With What Money?!!
He said then he said. We know one person she paid $4,000 to move in. Can abc7 On Your Side help her get some of her money back and find a new place for her?
That money is Gone , unless somebody wants to donate she never see that from Landlord they sound broke as well .
@@lassiejr2115 they're not broke...
Ask to show the rent receipt
Rich gotta rich. Poor gotta poor.
Call a solar company
I believe the owner. After the covid restrictions on not being able to kick somebody out for rent or over people got dumped out on the street because they had never been paying a damn penny😂
I had it happen to me the landlord turn off the electric because one person not pay his rent those who paid the rent got punished also think the landlord lost the rent money gambling he not the property owner
Wouldn't it help if residents paid their rent? Did no one catch that part? If they don't pay how is the landlord suppose to pay?
and while this goes on, the park owner just sold to a corporation deed signed over threw a quick app, now the 30 day notices are being mailed to each lot address. THE PARK OWNER WAS HORDING FUNDS TO BAIL OUT. 3 YEARS OF NON PAYMENT TO THE ELECTRIC COMPANY, WHAT A BULL SHITTER
We used to go there in the 70s and 80s with our parents remembering those hayrides the pool table jukebox swimming pool we kept putting money to listen to the song Rock and Roll Fantasy on the jukebox those were the days clearly there's an agenda bankrupt foreclosed on the property and sell it for Developers another corporate takeover
Sounds like the property owner wants the residents gone, and plans to either sell the land, or renovate it and charge more. Either way the residents are the ones who are being treated like rubbish.
can’t they claim squatter’s right? they seem to be protected.
Residents use as much electricity as they want?
Free ride is over.
All the people have to do is show this News man their receipt
That used to be a good place to go fishing.
long ago....
People are buying up our parks like crazy, monopoly games.
Just wondering why every station needs two newsreaders for 10 second lead-ins.
Is it a broadcast rule?
Is it that difficult to read the teleprompter?
Shouldn't there be two weather readers too?
abc7 cant figure out who isnt paying the bills. Garbage reporting
They made it clearer than clear who isn't paying the bills: The "resort" owners.
It was even in plain, literally black and white print!
Pay attention'; It ain't rocket engineering.
@@-108- The tenants arent paying their share either. It's a messed up situation
@@masonite1973 Tenants not paying their rent does not absolve the property owner of their responsibilities, neither in that regard nor in any other regard. The property owner is responsible to both themselves and paying tenants, in that they must enforce eviction rules against those who don't pay, for not only their own benefit, but for that of the rest of the tenants. As I pointed out, there is really no way you can slice it to make it anyone but the property owner's fault.
@@-108-clearly you don’t know current renters rights in California. Ever since Covid it is extremely difficult to legally evict a tenant, so people stopped paying rent or got help from the state with various programs. Now we even have squatters rights which is absolutely ridiculous and destroying the state. Clearly the whole story isn’t being told here.
@@EuphoricCritiques If the renters' rights issues you mentioned were behind this, it would be the case everywhere in CA. But it's not; This is literally the only place in the entire state of CA where such a thing is happening. So it's clearly not a renters' rights issue.
I am fairly certain that all COVID eviction moratoriums have expired so why haven't the owners started the eviction process for those supposedly not paying their rent? Regardless the owners are almost certainly contractually obligated to provide electricity to those who have been paying and failure to provide power (and water) would be a breach of their rental agreement and those renters could sue them for a lot more money than the owners would lose for at least trying to keep up with the power bill.
I wonder how many of them are not paying rent. I would take it at least 80%. Even if they are not paying rents the property owner can't just cut the power. So, they really living FREE. It bad enough they not paying rent but the landlord still have to pay their electric bills. I think the landlord are trying to clear them all out.
i doubt what the son of the owner is true....hes probably in on the parent committing fraud
@@dawn1berlitz no this is forcing residents out. its happening all over our country.
Let So Cal Edison sue for payment. Take the trailer park. install individual meters and bill residents. charge only current rent. they get their money and good PR
That place must be rough..... mobile home park in Mo valley
it's a fishing retreat....but if there's actually fish, that's another matter....
Is this man telling the truth that the bill is over $600K at this time?? That's all going to have to paid in full before continuing on. Yipes. It wouldn't surprise me at all that tenants are not up to date on their rent there.
Illegal park. Owner bail out...
Dang Electricity is too High , EV vehicles gonna make Cost skyrocket .
Get solar panels from harbor freight
Ya even used on market place or cl batteries charge controller and inverter and your still around only a grand
Try San Tan Solar in Phoenix
Wow
Great place!! Worth the drive!
They know. It's all choices
Probably a few percent paid through covid, all the rest are deadbeats, so owner retaliated by not paying the power bill. At this point, he wants them all out. Then he can substantially raise prices.
or sell the land....
In other news...
Of Course it’s a Kumar LOL no wonder!
Get A gernerator.
And then watch the owner have the audacity to say it’s a noise complaint - 😅
What the price of gas to fill that thing plus CA is banning generators soon 😭
What you got to do is get those people out of their contract with the government to house illegal immigrants there. Guaranteed money from the government. It's not incumbent upon me personally to care about American citizens when the government is spending $150 billion dollars every year to take care of illegal immigrants. I want some of my money back😂
Well....honestly i wouldnt doubt it a bit if halo does have a bunch of em still way behind on rent and now theyve got a massive problem on their hands...what to do about it though....aint a whole lot they can do....the power companies probably gonna wind up owning the land maybe...still gonna have to figure out what to do with all them people though...some of them will love but others will just get generators n say screw it at least until the city start forcing folks out or whatever.
well put solar panels on your trailer or move somewhere else with better RV amenities
They need to move to Quartzsite AZ
Cheap Rv lots
250 a month right now
