Sonicake are top notch, best budget pedals on the market in my experience. They have pretty much zero self noise. Very well made.

    Good evening sir.
Nice review. I have almost the same multi-effect-pedal only with a tuner and a great chorus as an addition. At this price range all together is quite unbeatable. I just had to figure out how to use those effects properly by tracking, loudness and signal. But it works out 😊

@@JonnyDibble it's called the "valeton dapper bass". I would consider it even more useful than the sonicake. Also because of the integrated tuner. Many of the separate circuits may be the same but the additions make the valeton "giggable" (hope you get that word 😅)

I watched this video yesterday and thought "I like it but I'd prefer something with a built-in tuner and chorus". I checked on Thomann and saw the Valeton Dapper Bass and it seems like it matches what I was thinking. Jonny, if I get one I'll let you borrow it - assuming I don't get stuck in traffic again!

A similar multi FX is the Valeton Dapper, which I'd be interested in seeing. I'm considering one or t'other, because I quite like the idea of ditching the pedalboard for something small and easy to carry and use. Neither have all the features I want, though between the two they do.

thanks for this vid Jonny, My take on Sonicake: I 've buy the sonicake SonicWood 'cos I was looking for a cheap bass chorus and reverb effect (sonicwood is designed for acoustic guitars but, anyway, it well does the job on a bass)
I think that these effect are designed for a live use, just for a little bit of soud modulation. there's not "the big sound" but they really does the job and I really wonder if during a live session, anyone in the crowd will be able to get the difference between a Boss CEB-3 and this sonicake chorus effect...
(In fact: nobody does ! )
I plan to get the Boom ave as second pedal, they are really affordable, heavy duty case, compact, easy to use... they are just perfect for a good old gig !
The Knob backlight gives me the same issue... where the hell is the knob setting???? I fixed the problem by putting a little drop of black nail polish on the button mark 😉(You know, as a girl, nail polish can fix almost all of our problems 🤣🤣)
Thanks once again for this demo ! Axelle.

Hey I think that any bass pedal should include a built in chorus, and reverb. I would like to see a bass pedal with
Boost/Compressor>Reverb>Chorus>Preamp>Octaver. But as it has an effects loop its ok.
I found on mine that the octaver does a weird modulation effect. When onlt Oct1 is selected it jumps between the lower octave to one octave higher and back. 5his is not what an octaver should do. Other than that this is a great pedal. I add a chorus and reverb in the effects loop.
    Bass>Comp>Preamp>Chorus>Reverb>Amp/Pa.
