SONICAKE Boom Ave. Bass Demo

  • BOOM Ave. is a multi-effects bass pedal that gives you 4 essentials for bass playing: a BOOST/COMP, a FUZZ, a PREAMP, and an OCTAVE.
    BOOST/COMP is as straightforward as it is. It comes with a volume boost and a compressor. FUZZ is pretty standard. Think about Russian Muff with some additional EQ twist. PREAMP is a classic. We try to pay our tribute to the legendary Ampeg style tone. OCTAVE is dual sub octave. But you can blend the ratio of the original dry signal and the octaves.
    What's more?
    It has an FX LOOP after preamp section. You can add whatever you wanna add in that loop.
    It also has an XLR OUT for you to send the balanced signal to your sound card or PA mixer.

    I run this and a tuner pedal through a small pa for band practice these days it sounds pretty similar to my ampeg but I do find the the fuzz +boost combo is not as satisfying as the scrambler over drive on my amp for more gainy tones. I noodle with the octave for fun sometimes but I don’t use it for many songs.
    This thing is sturdy as a tank and worth every penny - get them while they are cheap!

    My go-to pedal when I'm too lazy to bring my full pedalboard, sounds so good and it's very compact and light. I like it!

    The Sonicake isn't a bad pedal set up at all, if you don't want to lug around a lot of gear just throw this thing in the gig bag and go. I got the Acoustic Wood and love it. The Cube Baby might be something you may want to check out as well.

    Awesome demo. 😎 I personally like this multi-effects pedal. The preamp, fuzz, and boost/comp sounded phenomenal. Although I’m not really into the octave effect. It’s just not my kind of effect. However the boom avenue sounded amazing with chorus effects. That effect I wish was on the boom avenue, but that’s just my opinion. Other than that, I would totally pair this up with a chorus and flanger pedals.

    Hey I think that any bass pedal should include a built in chorus, and reverb. I would like to see a bass pedal with
    Boost/Compressor>Reverb>Chorus>Preamp>Octaver. But as it has an effects loop its ok.
    I found on mine that the octaver does a weird modulation effect (like this guy shows in his demo). When onlt Oct1 is selected it jumps between the lower octave to one octave higher and back. 5his is not what an octaver should do. Other than that this is a great pedal. I add a chorus and reverb in the effects loop.
    Bass>Comp>Preamp>Chorus>Reverb>Amp/Pa.

    Man, both the fuzz and the octave on this thing sound better than those in the 'inspiring original'. Weird that the octave is AFTER the fx loop, if it is, because you want your octaver to get the purest signal and to have things like modulation after it.

      Only in the video. In reality and they sound very bad. I tried long notes on E and A string. The octaver can not resolve this notes. Listen here m.czcams.com/video/gg7gmUT1y2w/video.html

    Sorry if this is a dull question. With the Di out, can I run that into a XLR input on my focusrite interface or should I run it through a DI box first? Also, How have you found recording this from Jack out to jack in on your interface? Thanks again. Any help much appreciated.

    Unfortunately you cannot use it live. The differences in volume are to big. The compressor always increases the volume. The same for the fuzz. Octaver really sounds fine but the tracking is quite bad. Deep A is not well recognised.

    • @deviationblue
      @deviationblue Před 2 lety +4

      I used it live for all of summer 2021 and my compressor is always on, except when I’m using the fuzz. Tbh just play with the volume levels and find “unity” for your particular rig. Took two minutes to dial in.

    • @wolframheldmaier727
      @wolframheldmaier727 Před 2 lety +1

      @@deviationblue okay. It works with comp always except for fuzz. I wanted to use the compressor as an effect with strong pumping and playing without compressor for the clean. And it does not work for this application. I had some more issues in sound quality. Like the octave is miles away from MXR bass deluxe. Beginners should better save their money until they can afford good quality that supports their playing. Buying cheap means buying twice.

    • @deviationblue
      @deviationblue Před 2 lety +4

      @@wolframheldmaier727 idk bro, tbh nobody watches a bar band perform live for the tonal quality. I’d never record with this in a million years. The sound quality is far from amazing but it’s all in one chassis that fits in your gig bag, it’s built like a tank, and it costs less than $100.
      It served my needs just fine until I *could* afford to upgrade my board.
