  • Retailing at just under $100, Sonicake's fly-style bass rig gives you the same type of effects that some other pedals may do at more than twice the price. How does this pedal sound, and do you have my recommendation on buying it?? Find out in this video! More info...

Maybe I'm nitpicking, but I would have preferred the octave and fuzz buttons beside each other.

Pretty sweet piece of equipment. Very usable tones for a budget price !

I had a version of this made by Valeton called the Dapper Bass. It had a built in tuner & also had a 1 knob chorus effect in addition to what the Sonicake has. Instead of fuzz, it had a Q effect with a fuzz switch. I only moved away from the multi pedal because I wanted more control on my compression & chorus effects. I just don’t get why you would wanna go 2 octaves lower on bass. I think an octave up might be more useful. Just my 2 cents.

I feel ya man. I’m actually really interested in checking out the Valeton.

@@RumblinMan as far as being compact & easy to set up/take down, they’re really quite nice. I happen to prefer more control over my effects. I also felt the octave didn’t track well below the low A on the E string.

With this dapper bass you can put the fx loop after the preamp effect? If I want to put an external overdrive pedal, this dapper bass pedal works?

Hey I think that any bass pedal should include a built in chorus, and reverb. I would like to see a bass pedal with
Boost/Compressor>Reverb>Chorus>Preamp>Octaver. But as it has an effects loop its ok.
I found on mine that the octaver does a weird modulation effect (like this guy shows in his demo). When onlt Oct1 is selected it jumps between the lower octave to one octave higher and back. 5his is not what an octaver should do. Other than that this is a great pedal. I add a chorus and reverb in the effects loop.
    Bass>Comp>Preamp>Chorus>Reverb>Amp/Pa.

Take out the fuzz and the Octaver and insert a chorus and a tuner or reverb.

This is about $70 shipped. Should I go with it or get a Caline CP-60 DI Box for $33 shipped and get another cheap pedal to go along with it? Im looking mainly to use for recording in fl studio

Honestly the sounds you can get with this are pretty good. And it gives more options. I haven’t tried the Caline, but the Sonicake is a safe bet.

Can we used this with only headphones/earphones without speakers amp ???
