The developers should be expanding the playable map to include all of the islands in the game, and add more quests. We already have a few dozen bases in the game. Allowing the player to build multiple bases just to fight off waves of machines makes the game little more than an arcade shooter- and Generation Zero has far greater potential than that.

    • @randombrony5434

I think the point of the paid DLCs isn't to be the new content or the future. It could easily become that but for now my hope is they're more there just to keep the cash flowing in while they roll out the big updates. The paid stuff is optional, game works just fine without them but they're there for people who enjoy that part of the game. As for having multiple bases, it makes sense, having a cap of just 1 base doesn't make sense and is an unessicasry limit on the player, and some like myself enjoy building different types of bases, and some just meant to look nice while waiting for the next big update. The soviets was a fantastic addition, and I can't wait to see what they do with the US and NATO since they've been teasing their existence for quite some time...

    • @manilajohn0182
      @manilajohn0182 Před rokem

@@randombrony5434 Well, there's nothing else that paid DLCs can be other than new content for the future- IF they choose to add some.
As far as I'm aware, no one has ever suggested having a cap of just one base, so I'm not sure why you're using that standard as a point of reference. IF there was only one base, adding bases that the player could build would definitely make sense. However, there were approximately sixty bases on the map already in addition to the one that the player could build. That being the case, base building when sixty of them already exist and the player can fast travel to any of them is ridiculous. Those additional bases mean little without a hardcore mode in which fast travel is disabled.
I like the Soviet bases- but it would have been far better to add them to a new island which could have been developed and opened to the player base. Instead, the developers spent time simply revamping the already existing map.

@@MFKR696 Most of the bugs that still exist are the result of other bug fixes- or they're console related. Being that the devs have added nothing to the game in the way of worldspace since Alpine Unrest, I'd say we're overdue for that.
One thing's for certain; if they wait until they've fixed a clear majority of game bugs before they add new world space, then we'll never get that new worldspace.

It is good that the base defense difficulty is harder, but the turrets (not sure if it is just the ones from the new DLC) tends to get destroyed too quickly. If they also take friendly fire in some way as you mentioned that could explain why they feel so fragile?! Still, they are fun to experiment with!

Yeah. It's a terrible design choice, particularly if you're on console. It's almost offensively bad. The fact that, as soon as you press the RB button, your character can't move, in a game where you're constantly getting creamed from all sides if you stay still, is just mind-blowing to me
All they needed to do was make all 7 of the previous quickbar slots unlocked, so you could choose what you wanted to put where. That's all.
In fact, all they REALLY needed to do, was unlock the sidearm slot, so you could put anything there. That would have solved all the issues. Literally all of them.
Because the only thing anyone REALLY wanted was to have one more primary in the hotbar, let's face it.

Not sure how I feel about it all yet. I'm certainly not bursting with excitement, but then, I've never been a massive fan of the base-building. It feels like it's been tacked on, rather than thought-through.

This should be free if you ask me, making you unlock new buildings as you complete harder waves in all the difficulties, cosmetics should be unlockeables too but adding painjobs as payed dlc sounds more like something i could buy if i want to give my base a new look, like we need more variety on base building because there is too little
Adding cheap weapon packs that are not better than the base weapons as variety i understand, but i dont support this, it should be in the game and you should be able to have something to work towards, a meaning to do it other than just because and dont get me wrong i like doing it just because its fun but it would be cool to have that

But seriously, I've completed about 15 base missions on hard, got a load of 6c ammo and medkit schematics, and never use them for anything, because any advantage they give is offset by the cost of crafting them, and frankly I'd rather have AP for fighting pretty much anything.
There's also some shockingly pointless ammo types, like corrosive and healing. In what world am I ever going to need a .50 cal round that heals allies, and does negligible damage to opponents?!
Whereas, if you could fortify a farm that you knew was near a major tank spawn point, you could be a lot more tactical about levelling up regions and taking on rivals- it would introduce quite a fun strategic element to the game which it currently lacks.

Saying that, I guess my playstyle is heavily weighted towards a certain method- when it comes to tanks and harvesters, I always use the PVG with an IR module, and target components first. Maybe I just need to change my style to see the benefits, rather than just dismiss them out of hand.
