Easy trick to buy time on base defense: build no doors/gates. IME the bots look for doors before attacking anything else. Set up jump-over points in front of your pillboxes.
It would be nice if we culd just set down bases anywhere ourselves.
YESSSS been waiting for this video
I love watching creators videos who post the same content as I do to see how their game is progressing as well! left a like!
Great video. Base assaults are fun to a point. I've done medium attacks with two of us and it's wild. Tanks coming at your base is always a blast. Totally agree that's the best location...as well as nicest scenery! Cheers
Try hard with two and see how you go, i reckon you'll have a blast! glad you enjoyed
@KilroyPlays I did hard a few hours ago in another location in the farm lands, man it was all chaos, the experimental kvm59 carried me. Having the dlc the turrets on the tac equipment helped a lot. Since they kept stunning the tanks
Thanks Dude!
I tried to do a base defense mission, it was going swimmingly, then the game crashed and I came back to a destroyed base. I've never started a base defense mission since, now all I do is attack enemy bases. There's no need to do base defense missions, you can ignore them.
Achievements
My first base was completely demolished by a hunter a 2 tanks because the hunter saw me and my friend running back to base but sadly we didn’t had enough ressources to make the walls stronger i just covered the truck with wooden walls and only 1 wooden gate
see i'd would much rather this happen because mine first big base got trashed because of an update lol
Wow, I disagree! I couldn't defend that one on hard. Tried it a couple of times and gave it up. The only ones I take on are the ones it is a cow to attack!
My favourite base is the one below the airport, where the whole of one side is covered by a trench system, and they broadly come from only three directions, all of which you can engage at maximum range and they mostly never get close. Furthermore, on one of the other sides there is a fence that they often can't get through, so stay stuck while my sniper tower takes them out.
On Hard Mode I stay outside the base, but on Medium I stay within the base, which is much more fun. Where possible, put your machine gun nests in such a position as to enfilade attackers - thus as they approach the base they are engaged from the side. The machine gun nests last much longer. Put your Companion outside as well, and he will do heaps of damage. Remember to lay mines on all the approaches, since they weaken enemies as they approach. Put two little tumps on the ground and lay the mines in a straight line between them. This means that after the battle you can go back and find the ones which didn't explode. With mines, make sure they are at least ten metres apart, or the first to go off will explode them all, to no effect.
I have a video which explains how to construct a base so as to be able to defend all of it easily.
You should make a video series of best base locations in each region.
You mentioned that materials for walls are easy to come by, but I've been really struggling to get cement. Do you have any advice for how to get it? I know the best way is high difficulty base defense missions, but I don't have enough cement for good walls, and mostly have 3-crown weapons right now.
only way to get cement is base assaults and base defense missions so id recommend just using the wooden resistance walls for now, and 3 crown weapons will easily beat a base defense mission on easy and medium difficulty, i have a video coming out shortly where i do a base defense mission on medium with only a 1 crown and they dont even destroy any of my walls or anything :)
@@KilroyPlays Nice! I'm in the process of building up the base you point out in this video, so hopefully that'll help. Honestly I just need to get better at fighting tanks. I'm eager to see how you handle them with normal weapons, because right now my medium base defenses are either walks in the park or brutal slogs, entirely depending on if the tanks decide to actually fight, or just stand around watching birds while I shoot them in the gas tank. The enemy AI seems really weird in general about whether it just stands around playing pop-up target for you, or aggressively targets you and/or your walls down.
@@Gothsheep0 if i were you when the tanks show up and arent interested in you go behind them and shoot the fuel tanks and then start pummelling the weapons because once the weapons are gone they just run around like spuds
Is it possible for friends to build stuff in the bases with their mats? The first base we took over and controlled we could both build. But now, when he loads in he doesn't have access to the the [B] menus. (Building). When the first time we did it, he did have access.
I only ever played solo so i cant help you with this one sorry g
@@KilroyPlays All good man. some kinda onging bug right now for it. But man your vids have helped my friend and i alot. Building towards those experimental guns now. Seens kind of a niche question since we should just loot everything all the time but you got a video or maybe you can make a new one for some content explaining or showing what the more/most efficient way of looting is. In regards to what the best loot to recycle is. Idk if that makes sense and it sounds kind dumb after I type that out. But you get it.
Ok i made the base on the hill like in the video and i add more walls :D
lets see how it goes
I actually like that other location thats in the field with the shed and tractor by the base. The way I have it set up and defended by towers and gun bunkers plus with the use of mines I can do the defence mission on medium and have the base take almost no damage. Also while not even using any of my experimental weapons in the process.
See im glad someone gets it, it can be done relatively easily ayy
How about Kallebyviken?
Unless one wants a challenge or resources, easy is good enough for the schematics and it's easy. I don't think hard gets more cement either. I believe it's random.
I Might test that theory by doing 30 base defences 10 on each difficulty and compare the results 🤔
@@KilroyPlayswhat is your conclusion?
@@user-iv7sj7zg7h never got around to it as i dont play gz anymore
@@user-iv7sj7zg7hI watched a video the other day on this (cant remember who so my apologies) ... but he tested and the results were that FNIX Assault yielded the same or there abouts regardless if it was a 1* or 4* strength base.
*Edit*
It was Tenebris Infinite ... apologies Kilroy for plugging another creator 😬❤

i just use them for fast travel points
yeah they do come in handy for fast travel
I tried the first base location on hard with 3 others and we did not make it lol just so many robots.
4 of you couldn't even do a hard base defence?!?!?! I did one using a 1 crown weapon lol 🤣
I had 3 layers of walls wood... not like u cement 4 layers... building a base cost so much @@KilroyPlays
im just teasing g 🤣but your right base building gets very pricey!
The control point/ base stuff seems pointless. Can’t you just ignore that crap and play the game just roaming around? What’s the point of defeating an enemy base if it doesn’t stay defeated? So just don’t bother in the first place. There’s only one of you, why would you give yourself more stress and work? Why would one lone survivor fuxk around doing this base crap?
🤣
