Nick is basically single handedly rewriting the history books, "baloney mist cloud #1" only a retired medic could come up with that one ...
That’s why he’s getting his masters in history! He literally wants to rewrite school textbooks because there is much important information that each generation learns less and less about. And that’s the best thing ever 🤝🏼
I think my fave Nic-ism is "earthworm amusement park"
@@bzkshaneI’m from the north east this is all stuff we talked about . He makes it even cooler and easier to Learn but my friends down south had totally different books. And it’s not that they lied . They just left shit out. And it wasn’t till college they got the slap in the face.
Unfortunately more often then not much of the stuff teachers leave out isn’t because they want too but because they have too due to the very limited amount of time their given.
@@heinz57channel39 As a North Carolinian by birth and heritage, down South you learn more about the civil war and slavery than you do any other time period. At least that's how it was when I was in school.
Note: For personal reasons I quit in high school. I don't know what they would've taught but, I do know that the thing I remember being rammed down our throats the most is slavery.
Iran: "We took out an American boat!"
Japan: " No, No, No, Don't do that, It just makes them mad. We did this once, and they dropped the Sun on us. Twice."
“I’m just here to take pictures.” Is Russian for I’m here to gather intel on US naval capabilities.
TBF, even if they outright said that, the US Navy woulda just say “ok, take a seat over there, outta the way, and watch the fireworks.”
It's also interesting how that plays into how the US (and NATO allies) typically talk down our new equipment in order to keep its capabilities unknown from potential enemies, whereas the Soviets (and since the fall of the USSR, Russia) always oversells its equipment by making claims the materiel can't back up in order to make potential enemies scared of it. Effect vs. Intimidation. (Or in the case of the Russian Federation, attempting to sell overpriced and underdeveloped new materiel to other nations in the hopes that those countries would actually front the money to get the actual production capabilities up and running, like as happened for the Armata, Su-57, BMPT Terminator, and a slew of other post-Soviet vehicles that dead-ended before going into full production.)
@@Maria_Erias See Also: Their “anti-stealth” radar.
@@bobkile9734 Ah, right! The one based off the F-117 shootdown incident from Bosnia which happened because the radar station pinged the F-117 the exact moment its bomb bay doors were open after delivering its payload, so they thought that particular wavelength was the secret for detecting stealth aircraft, when it was simply a one in a million lucky fluke.
@@bobkile9734The Russian captain did actually say that. He said that he was there to take pictures for history.
_It's never a war crime the first time._

@@tanall5959 can verify asked someone in the canadian armed forces and they said "we look at the treaties america has and innovate on that for the next attack"
The a6 pilots really pulled a "two for flinching" on that first frigate
LMFAO!! never thought about it that way, but your absolutely right...they did.
1) Yes. Fantastic use of that quote. 2) That is definitely one of the The Best animated Disney movies ever. You have fantastic taste.
baited 100%
Tricked like 2000 people into instant death...
In the US Army, that was a daily occurance.
The fat electrician is a military historian and was an army medic in Iraq. He drove the Humvee Ambulance.
I did not know that! Learn something new everyday! I respected him already for his videos and knowledge; but I respect him even more!
@Beans1111 he was a medic in the national guard
he never deployed, but yes he was a medic
" Proportional " good story
"Appropriate " another good story
" Potential " an awesome story
The reference is amazing. Well played
It says so much about this man's storytelling that I read those three words and I know exactly qhich three videos you're referring too
There's a reason the Marines are with the navy you wanna keep all your crazy in one branch 😉
😂😂😂
It just so happens that April 18, 1988, was a Monday.
I had to look it up. I commented on it before I saw your comment.
my two favorite quotes from warships
"temper temper", and "I'm just here to take pictures"
I never get tired of seeing reactions to Nick's storytelling. Definitely need to react to more of his vids like The Barbary Wars and Operation Paul Bunyan. 😁
His Cassius marcellus Clay and operation Paul Bunyan videos are probably my favorite but all his videos are great.
@@fredamedic2000 "Sgt. Reckless: America's Warhorse" is up there as one of the best ones for me as well.
Don’t forget the ice cream
the story or McNasty McNeice and the eager beavers is also amazing.
Or "The most gangster Marine of all time"
Best part is TFE openly encourages reactions to his videos! He calls it "Free Advertising"
Nick AKA fat electrician is hands down my favorite for finding stories like this that sound like they should be a movie but are 100% real I would recommend checking out World War tree Operation Paul Bunyan, America stole a German submarine and stuck it in Chicago, bat bombs, America's futuristic weapons program
Amen to that, mans a legend.
The ACR Program and it's part 2 the XM29 Basically a War Crime
He is my favorite new historian as well. He is a great storyteller. All of those videos are great, but my personal favorite is angry old veteran vs 700 redcoats, Samuel Whitmore.
Sergeant Reckless America's war horse is worth watching
Doesn't he also do the story on the US submarine that gets a train kill? I love that story, the whole crew is my kind of insane.
As a former sailor do not f with our coffee, do not get in our way to the bar at port and don't sink our house. We don't f around and find out when it comes to damage control. Everyone was trained on that when I was in, it would have taken everyone available to stop that flooding. I do like how the Operation Specialist motto ( OS) in God we trust others we track was mentioned. They are constantly tracking and updating locations of both foes and friendlies. My MOS was the navigation of the ship. I think the biggest navies are Air force or Navy would be 1 and 2 and 3rd is Marine Crops then Army I think. (*edit* I was not in the navy at this time.)
Well the largest navy's are the US navy and the US museum fleet.
The largest airforce is the US airforce and the 2nd is the navy.
I believe that is what you are referencing.
China's kanoes do not count before the comments try me 😂😂😂

American proportion when someone messes with America's boats "overkill is underrated."
28:34 If we’re the fraction people, doesn’t that make us at least experts on the definition of proportional if not the ones defining it? 😆
Don't touch our boats
Iran found out first-hand America's definition of "proportional." 🇺🇸👍
And it's about to find it out again now
@thelatiosmaster time to que up "Fortunate Son" and "Here Comes The Sun." We haven't decided which one to use yet.
28:34 If we’re the fraction people, doesn’t that make us at least experts on the definition of proportional if not the ones defining it? 😆
Everyone in high school needed a history teacher like him!!!
He's by far the best story teller on CZcams
No
agreed!
agreed!
yep
Why is it that that Nazi flag on your profile pic has become so popular in the US?
I have the hoodie and so much more of his merch but “It’s never a war crime the first time” is by far my favorite. I had to go to the hospital a week ago and wore it in and got a few laughs and a few people that I just didn’t entertain because “I should be ashamed!” Like, no. You should be an actual patriot.
Yeah, uh, the Soviet ship clearly was there to take pictures. To take back to Soviet intelligence. To analyse what kind of weaponry is on US ships, what reach and power they have, how aircraft handle and operate, and so on.
Yeah but also they were like….this about to get fun where’s the camera and where’s my vodka?
And they went home and were like… oh shit! We are screwed.
There was also a healthy amount of " Oh shit, don't shoot us, we just watching"
29:14 Oh my god, they almost died laughing😂
He's the fantasy history teacher none of us had
I have to say I was fortunate to have one who taught Junior and senior history classes. He was a retired marine, and the way he taught was very similar. Plus, he put in his own experiences which really helped. We definitely need more teachers like him and like Nick, a.k.a. fat electrician
Sad thing is that they don't teach history anymore!!!
My 1st day of American History in 9th grade, my teacher was standing infront of his desk in a period costume with Jonny Hortons "Battle of New Orleans' playing.
Every Monday morning there was something different and highly entertaining.
😂😂 but that was IN the 80s. Times have changed.
1 to 1 is proportion. 20 to 1 is ALSO a proportion.
20-1 is american proportion lol
As a Destroyer sailor, we would constantly train. In port and out to sea. Flooding and fire fighting falls under the term Damage Control. Every single person has their damage control station.
PLEASE go down The Fat Electrician rabbit hole! you will absolutely love it. you guys have the best reaction to one of his videos that i have seen.
Two words: Freedom Sedan
@@themoondog6567 3 words: Rearranging topographical maps
You found another rabbit hole. This guy is the bes t story teller on CZcams. He is informative with an amazing sense of humor and spot on editing. Pick any of his videos and you will learn some history while simultaneously passing your pants laughing.
Retired Navy Chief here, and your reaction was very close to mine for this video.
I worked with a retired E8 navy chief, who's personal motto reflects the Navy's attitude...
I don't get mad, I don't get even...I get ahead!"
This story never gets old.
This why we say fuck around find out fuck with us you get the smoke
This guys an absolute master story teller.
14:19 “Bologna mist cloud #1” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

What does that mean? Isn’t bologna sandwich meat?

The best part of this is the part of the speech right before Reagan said "I'm from the government and I;m here to help". The full quote is "The most terrifying thing an American can hear is 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help."
Reagan was a bad ass gangster quite a few times during his eight years. One of the main reasons the 80s were so fun and crazy! Nobody in the world Effed with America!
its strange to think a large part of why the cold war stayed cold is no one was quite sure how crazy either leader was if pushed to the edge. and from what little i know of Reagan apparently that was intentional.
Ass a gen xer I can say what's complete certainty THAT's an understatement!
His video on the 666 flying fortress is a Hollywood movie begging to be made
That was an excellent story
Just imagine, He wants to be a history teacher. CAN YOU JUST IMAGINE BEING IN HIS CLASS?
Can I age back and go to that class?!!!
Unfortunately, he would really have to watch his language.
I agree, the PG version would never sound the same.@@susanwahl6322
The Fat Electrition is the Best storyteller I have ever heard!❤❤
This is my first time watching in the Americans react to this video, and I can say that y’all are the first people to get the five gum joke that electrician threw in there lol
So glad you found Nick, he makes history fun.
You have to check out his video about the Finnish soldier who tripped out on meth. It is hilarious!
"cause...meth"
We didn't call it "The Force." We called it Pervatin
Yea, that dude got all kinds of messed up. Must have been one HELL of a trip.
@@JustinDLink I just realized again how bad the word Pervatin sounds when put with American slang. I know what it was called but when I talk to people in America about that video I call it 'military prescribed methamphetamines' for multiple reasons. Believe me when I say that's me doing it a favor.
unluckiest ship with untouchable crew is funny as hell as well.
That analogy with the 2 cups about American proportions is quite possibly the most genius thing I’ve ever seen
8:11 "The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help." -Reagan
I do love he used the actual clip though 😂
What the A-6 pilots did was actually also what a B-52 crew did to a carrier strike group during an exercise lol
This event leads to the start of desert storm
Nick could tell any story and I would sit and listen.
This man is a blessing in disguise
Nick is the best story teller of all times. Hands down.
This basically is a good example of something I like to say on occasion, there is a reason the Navy and Marines are grouped together in the same department lol
The Eye of Sauron was so damn good lmao
its never a warcrime the first time 😂
Navy here, yes we know ya'll like to make fun, it's all good. We still got your backs lol. The funny thing I have seen here is that there are alot of these reaction channels and ya'll are spreading the word about Nick and his channel, his subscriber count has exploded because he is a really good story teller. The ice cream is an actual reference to another video of his you need to check out and do another video on. It won't disappoint!
Letsss gooo! Glad to see you made it round to The Fat Electrician, would love to see you react to more stories by him.
Hay my older military brothers, I hope this year treats y'all well. God bless, from a separate 13F.
he did one on Cassius Marcellus Clay, and Samuel Whittemore, Dan Daly a Medal of Honor Recipient twice!
Warheads on Foreheads, is another of his Great sayings! Love watching you two watch TFE, We Vets have a whole different sense of humor, it maybe dark, but it keeps us going! My second favorite is his Sgt. Reckless and he does info vids about All the MOS's, no Service is Safe! The best thing, is you Always feel Better about our Military when he's done. Thank you for your Reaction, more Fat Electrician, please!
That’s a very true statement: at the end we are all brothers. I was navy, brother was army, brother-in-law was air force, his brothers was navy and marine corp. during the holidays when we all got together there was more trash talking that anybody could imagine ! The gulf war happened and all we talked about the was how significant the other branches are !
I remember the Operation, and I remember the frigate being towed back to Maine to be repaired. I was stationed at Ft. Hood at the time. It was a big deal because the Frigate was not really towed back to Maine, but was carried on the back of another ship back to Maine. I do not know what units Nick was in, but with his colorful story telling he must have been a Medic in an Engineer Battalion 😎
You guys should check out the british mosqito bomber and grand theft submarine/U-boat both by the fat electrician, both are top tier videos because they both show just how unhinged the allies got during ww2
Yeah and then you hear about the Berlin Air lift and realize nothing is impossible for the US military
“PROPORTIONAL” hahahaha😂😂😂😂
That time when he said *the gun went NYEEEEE *BOOOM* * got me rolling
Hope you guys are gonna check lots more of these out. He's got lots of great stories like this.
TFE has so many great videos. Cassius, Clay, Eager, Beaver’s, Wake, Island, Jake, McNasty, and so many more.
I love this guy. So glad you reacted to him. Had A blast
I binged watched his videos and I don’t think that I laughed so hard.
Well, this is gonna be an awesome reaction saga...
I absolutely love watching people react to the fat electrician. He definitely has a gift for delivering a story. I've watched this video at least 10 times, and I still love it.
Yup Nick's videos are awesome!!! You guys should do more Fat Electrician videos.
I loved your reactions and comments to "America Obliterates half of Iran's Navy in Eight Hours❤
As a Veteran, I seek other Veterans for humor, especially when I need a good laugh. Fat Electrician was a (63W I believe is the MOS) Army National Guard Medic…. AKA “Doc”.
You should check out his early video he did about 11 Bravos, being a “former” 11B myself it had me cry laughing 🤣
not only that. but as a Marine his vids on us are just pure hilarity. He " gets " us. 🤔😁
The reaction to his videos and seeing who responds to the veteran humor is amazing. The dark humor just crushes some people and their reaction is almost as good as the story.
As a vet I love his channel but I LOVE watching other VETS react to his channel. Proportional!!!!
I totally LOVE their reactions!!!!! I laugh each time I watch this!!!!!
World War Tree - Operation Paul Bunyan
I enjoyed your reaction and you should definitely do more fat electrician reactions! Especially the German U boat video , he has a huge catalog to choose from and they are all great
I have been following The Fat Electrician since his TikTok days. I have learned more about military history from him than I EVER did in school. And he makes it fun to learn. 🎉
I was almost six and my sister was born in '88.
Great video gentlemen, Texas here. U.S. Navy Veteran. 1974-1980.
Guys, I binge watched all of these even though I'm American original recipe, ie English.
Nick's merch is some good stuff. I have two of his limited shirts, the "1911 Bovine unhealthcare" and "Cassius Clay- terrible things for terrific reasons", and they are both excellent quality and very comfortable. Well worth the money.
So much fun to watch with you two. Love history. But his delivery was the best! And your reactions had me dying with you.
The Great Seabee Train Robbery & The USS Barb. Also USS Wisconsin & USS New Jersey videos are fantastic! And my personal favorite- Toys for Tots
All of his videos long or short form are worthy of a deep dive
I was on the USS Enterprise then I saw the gun camera footage of the second frigate the bomb did go down the smoke stack but it also broke the back of the ship. also the 2 frigates were sold to Iran in the 70's by the US , so technically we just repossessed our ships. also we got know as the Hormuz Highway Patrol. and we painted 2 broken ships on out tower
The funny thing is, you can actually find the pictures they took from that Soviet destroyer lmao
I have watched half a dozen reactions to this guy's video and it is so hilarious! I'll probably watch half a dozen more.
As Army Vets you guys would probably love his video on Jake McNasty.. but you'd definitely also enjoy his video on Dan Daly even though he's Marine..
America’s two things you don’t touch our oil and our boats for the love of God don’t touch our fucking boats
They should have asked Japan what happens when you mess with our ships!!!!!!
Great reaction. Yeah Nick's videos are amazing, great humour, interesting stories and just an awesome all round guy. Absolutely love all the attention and reactions he's been getting recently as he absolutely deserve it. You definitely need to check out more of his content guys.
They did the 2 biggest no no's; Never raise gas prices, and NEVER mess with america's boats.
We only have 3 MAIN rules in America...1) don't touch our boats...2) don't mess with oil/gas prices...3) don't mess with the mail/mailman....3 EASY ways to see yourself become deleted 😂😂
Don’t feel bad about not knowing. I was an adult living in the Hampton Roads area at the time and I don’t recall hearing about it.
Cheers!
I only found you because I watch people react to TFE. He has some of the best content on CZcams.
Same!
Same
Brings humor and levity to something that is otherwise very impressive, but also quite sad.
As those oil, rigs and boats aren’t just things they were people, husbands fathers uncles, nephews, cousins, real life with lost!!. But I also love the way he tells stories. It’s amazing and again, although people are killed, things are destroyed. He Tells a story in a way that is palatable for everybody. ! ❤
I have watched FE with others all over the globe, but my wish Americans, specifically military folk, and OMG you two nailed it. No offense to 1, but Sam Sung love the nonverbal reaction, he reminds me of best friends during college which were Desert Storm vets, going civilian, btw to this day still my nickname they call me (Sally): going off topic other than they view FE's video extremely curious their reaction.
Anyway I have not laughed this hard, especially Sam Sung's reaction... Thank you for your vid and for others support FE's channel as this dude knows how to storytell. Look forward to your other videos again thank you for the laughs I lacked for many years; nice to be human once again and thank you both.
I was in the U.S. Air Force from 1977 to 1997. I can testify that "Shit Shows" like this were an American specialty. We LIVED for them!
Great reaction, you got yourself a new sub. Please check out more of his videos. Literally every video is amazing and could be a movie...esp when u get into the individuals he covers. Dan Daly, Sam Whittemore, and Cassius Clay are great ones to start with 😊
You are everywhere.

I LOVE his channel…and your channel as well. Instant sub!
I joined the navy almost exactly a year later I served with a few guys that were there. 23:13 way I heard it that's pretty much EXACTLY the conversation. "Bet you can't get them to shoot at you." The response was more along the lines of 'bitch please.'
You have to watch his “World War Tree” video. All of his videos are great! I really enjoyed your reaction.
