The Chrysler 300 "letter series" are high-performance personal luxury cars that were built by Chrysler in the U.S. from 1955 to 1965 and were a sub-model from the Chrysler New Yorker.[3] After the initial year, which was named C-300 for its standard 300 hp (220 kW) 331 cu in (5.4 L) FirePower V8, the 1956 cars were designated 300B. Successive model years were given the next letter of the alphabet as a suffix (skipping "i"), reaching the 300L by 1965, after which the model sequence was discontinued while the "300" remained. At its introduction it was advertised as "America's Most Powerful Car".[4]
The 300 "letter series" cars were among the vehicles built by Chrysler after World War II that focused on performance, and thus can be considered the beginning of the muscle car, though full-sized and more expensive. Chrysler had a long history of producing race car products going back to the Chrysler Six that was entered in the 1925 24 Hours of Le Mans, 1928 24 Hours of Le Mans, 1929 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the Chrysler Imperial Eight roadster in the 1931 24 Hours of Le Mans. The 1955 C-300 and the 1956 300B were raced with very little modification at NASCAR races to include Watkins Glen International where it won races multiple times.[5]
The automaker reintroduced the 300 designations again for performance-luxury sedans in 1999, using the 300M nameplate from 1999 to 2004, and expanding the 300 series with a reintroduction of a new Hemi-engineered V8 installed in the 300C, the top model of a new Chrysler 300 line, a new rear-wheel drive car launched in 2004 for the 2005 model year.
The Hemi engine was upgraded to 392 cu in (6.4 L) with 375 hp (280 kW),[15] or as a limited edition 390 hp (290 kW) version (18 built). The 392 CID engine was exclusive to the 300, New Yorker and Imperials, while the dual four barrel carburetors was standard on the 300C and continued with an improved air induction system that gave each carburetor its own air cleaner to improve efficiency. A convertible model was available for the first time and was listed at US$5,359 ($58,136 in 2023 dollars [11]) while the two-door hardtop was listed at US$4,929 ($53,471 in 2023 dollars [11]).[14] In comparison, a 1957 Imperial Crown Convertible was listed at US$5,598 ($57,655 in 2023 dollars [11]).[16] GM's Pontiac Division introduced the Pontiac Bonneville as a convertible only, offering fuel injection and a similar price tag but offered lower luxury content and a reduced price for 1958,[6] and Mercury offered the Mercury Turnpike Cruiser for 1957 with the optional 430 cu in (7.0 L) Super Marauder V8.

'Build your model however you want to' should be a standard for the industry. I like to see what this channel does with models, Most of these I will never build, for one thing I don't have the time to do so. Party on!

Another great build Mr.Chris 👍 And I'm glad about what you said on building kits.. I have a few buddies who go all out on spending big unnecessary $$$ on all the big name modeling gear .. And they've asked me how my kits turn out so nice when I use everything they use. I tell them that I'm old and on disability.. So I buy what works and what I can afford.. If I spend a little more on something , I buy it because it's going to hold up and last a very long time.. And the bottom line is I build for the fun and for me.. I don't build to put in show's , I build to put on (my) shelf in (my) house. Happy Modeling to everyone reading this.👍🇺🇲

Correct, if buying the most expensive stuff makes them happy, then that's awesome.
I want new modelers and returning modelers to know that most of that stuff is not 'needed' to enjoy the hobby. :)
      Keep having fun!

I've used how you build models as my starting point, I buy what I can get locally in paints, glues, equipment and the like. Your videos are great for giving me ideas on things I can adapt to what I want to do. Bless the guy that's gave you the suggestion of using the cordless drill to scuff up tyres, that's why this community is so good.

I get lots of ideas from you about building model cars. I have a lot of the things you use to help me build better. Some things I see used on CZcams I like, and I buys. Other things I see used, I don’t like, so I don’t buy them.
Very nice build of an excellent kit. Great color choices. It really looks great. Thanks for sharing.

1957 - 11 year old me, living on a farm with nearest neighbors 2 miles away. Their son was 2 years out of highschool working as an irrigation specialist making obsene money. He bough a 1957 Chevy with the Corvette fuel injected engine. I got a ride and became an instant fan. The car magazines had pictures and articles for the '57 300s. I thought they were OK, but they were just pictures - I wanted a '57 Chev. Seeing this model build - I was a fool. Beauty build. Thanks Chris!

I think like the Pontiac you built the other day this is another one in the series of well detailed kits AMT brought out in the late 1990s. Again, as a custom I would have liked some wheel options, but there is always the spares box for that, especially if you've got some of the recently rereleased Round 2 models that include such lovely tires and in some cases different wheels.

Got one of the previous edition of that car on my bench right now (among 10-15 others). It's pretty good. I also have a stock version to build later. Not sure of the color. MAYBE Plum Crazy. Engine will be painted Hemi orange like the later Hemi engines. Will also try to transform the interior from front bench seat to two seats. Will also try to turn it into a manual.
    Love yours.

9:30 into the video: All the white plastic looks just like the stock / mild custom 1957 Chrysler 300 model I bought about 20 years ago (AMT / Ertl kit). It looks like the only custom touches in your kit are on the chrome tree and on the clear red tree. You CAN build a straight stock model from this kit.

@hpiguy you can build this completely stock other than the wheels. I built the previous issue of this and the wheels are are the difference between mine and yours. For this issue, all they did was add a couple “custom parts” and extra decals.

One of my all time complaints (I have a half dozen copies of that kit in stock form) is that there is not a pair of 300 logos for the body... they're large but hard to paint, now they have a version I absolutely will not buy that has them...
