    I have a 78 Strat that was refinished prior to 1989 when I got it. It’s also a hard tail with black pickup covers. It appears to have originally been yellow. It has an absolutely beautiful birdseye maple neck. Probably the best neck I’ve seen which is surprising considering the 1978 manufacture.

    For me there are often memories or stories that go along with a particular guitar: the band you were in or gigs you played with it, changes you made to it, the shop, person or the place where you bought or sold it, the people you were hanging around with at the time, where you were living. They are a bit like a scrapbook or photo album. That collection might represent a lot of the previous owner's life.

      Yes indeed. He was a collector since his mid teens. Hence the shear scale of the collection 👍

    I remember the MiK light ash Telecasters when they came out. I liked the abalone style dot markers on the fingerboard. I think it only came with the option of a maple fingerboard.

    Yep, I love the relic'd strat but I agree sometimes the ageing can look a bit contrived. Would love to know more about the owner of these guitars and his/her story but I guess that's a private thing. Another great video, thanks for sharing. 🙏

    Would agree that the blue flower tele has been modded. Used to own one, bought new, which had a Crafted in Japan decal on the reverse of the neck just up from the neck/body joint. Lovely guitar, very resonant. I believe they also did a Paisley pink finish.

    • @GHguitarauctions

      They did. I prefer the pink paisley, but also like the blue flower. Thanks for watching 😊

    What a collection. Hopefully they brought a lot of pleasure to the owner.
    I’ve always hated relics until about a year ago - maybe an age thing. Needs to be done sympathetically though

    I like the relic look of the blue strat but just for fun I'd have to give it a back story as real as the aging, 'I was playing this in a Honky Tonk in Nashville back in 82 when Dolly came up to me and said.. etc etc😁

      It’s really not as close as it appears and we are completely aware of where it is. No artificial relicing yet! 😅 Thanks for watching 😊👍

    I can`t believe you haven`t Clanged the headstock of one of those guitars on the racking yet, you`re swinging them round and missing by millimeters. I`m watching through my fingers !!!

    • @GHguitarauctions
      @GHguitarauctions  Před 6 měsíci

      We can believe it. It’s honestly not as close as it looks, very aware if where the racking is and we’re VERY careful. Thanks for watching 😊.

  • @PeterMoore350

    Given you're trying attract more YT viewers, can you at least take the time to timestamp each guitar ?
    It's not rocket surgery, pretty easy to do and will probably take you about 15 minutes and will add value to this auction and video so people can jump to, and see the guitars that they maybe be interested in instead of you prattling on about not knowing much about guitar x, y or z before we get to see said guitar. This will mean more bids on your lots if we can jump straight to a guitar.
    And how about showing the backs of the guitars, including the necks all the way up to the headstock so we can see if there's been a typical Gibson break there and/or so we can see if the machine heads/tuners have been replaced and the serial number too ??
    Cheers from NZ 😎🎸🤘

      @@GHguitarauctions no probs. If you need to know how to add the timestamps ? Let me know, but i'm sure your guys and gals know how to do it. Cheers

    • @GHguitarauctions
      @GHguitarauctions  Před 6 měsíci +2

      We do usually do them (check out previous videos) but a longer than usual video and an incredibly busy week didn’t allow the time on this occasion. They will probably be added as soon as we can. The length of video is also the reason we have shown less of each guitar and less detail usual, just so we could highlight the scale of this one collection. 😊👍

    • @PeterMoore350
      @PeterMoore350 Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@GHguitarauctions all good. I was just offering suggestions, as i sent a timestamped URL (web link) to Mr Trogly to checkout 2 of your guitars and lamented abut the lack of timestamps.
      I look forward to more updates of this catalogue from you and other future auctions too. Cheers
