I personally love this part of history we don't know anything about until now. Ms Sarah is a brilliant young woman with a lot of drive within her. She has helped all those women attain the freedom they all want and deserve.

Learning about the Matchstick Girls made me feel the same way I did when learning about the Radium Girls. How many other women's horrid work stories have gone unheard in history? So I appreciate Enola Holmes 2 bringing this to light!

Exactly. And it's the fact that women's history and rights are almost never taught in schools and if it is its such a small portion. This causes people to take issues like sexism unseriously. I'm so proud of Millie for making such a wonderful peice and its also the fact that she got tons of hate from misogynists and faced a bunch of sexism as she started blowing up, that makes me even more happy for her.

My little brother just finished his play, they did Radium Girls, and it was cool watching Enola Holmes because it was so similar. Terrible stories, but so moving.

I really love how the movie encourages us to stand up for ourselves, be brave and independent but at the same time, telling us not to forget that being independent doesn't necessarily equal being alone. We should find our allies, find the people we can trust and can rely on. I admire that they incorporated a real and important part of history in the movie. It really inspires me, as a young girl, to not be afraid of all the possibilities in the future. 🥰💗

We need to continue to bring more awareness to the issues that have never been addressed and one of the things I like about this film is that it educates us about these critical historical events and inspires us to carry this incredible legacy. Love this film!!! ❤❤❤

Thank you so much for sharing this story! Equally important to remember is that the fight is not over. Factories are now mostly over seas, but their workers still work for low wages, and in harsh conditions. Just because modern production of most everything we use is out of sight, out of mind, that doesn't mean we can ignore it. The Matchstick Girls have a legacy that still lives on today, and a lack of rights for factory workers is still an issue.
Wishing anyone who reads this a lovely day, and never be afraid to stand up for yourself. Now, go forth and harness your inner Enola Holmes.

I’m so grateful for them because I am a working class female and without those protests who knows what life could still be like now.

As a teenager I was fascinated by the history of the labour movement and read about this strike. It was very interesting for me to watch this film, have a sense of déjà vu, and think wait a minute, what have we here, and the delight at seeing the strike near the end of the film. I love how these films have a sense of social justice, for women, for the poor, for decency. They take sides and don't ignore the realities of that period of time.

Pity it is caught up in so much over the top wokeness though. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle would be rolling over in his grave. Sherlock Holmes is made out to be an incompetent fool where his sister is able to solve things he cannot . This is so insulting to such brilliant writing by a brilliant man. He never had a sister in the books so if they are going to insist on a female detective then just don't destroy the Legacy of beloved characters in the process is all we ask.

I think you miss the meaning behind the story. Not wanting to work in unhealthy, downright dangerous conditions doesn't equal not wanting to work in general or that women don't want to work like men do. These women's actions helped make working conditions better for so many and women were obviously not the only ones who ever held a strike. Men do it all the time but no one sees it as them not wanting to work.
