- In this video, I give you my impressions of the Saddlemen Road Sofa LS after riding with on the Street Glide Special for 1,000 miles. The Saddlemen Road Sofa LS is a high quality seat to run on the Street Glide Special or any of the Harley-Davidson touring motorcycles. The Road Sofa LS has GelCore technology that reduces the impact of the Street Glide Special's engine vibration and the road. The Road Sofa LS has a separated driver seat from the lumbar leading to no tailbone pressure. The Road Sofa LS has been a game changing seat for me. Klondike Park Info
Klondike Park is 250 acres of scenic property, featuring more than 4 miles of natural and paved trails for hiking and biking. I have recently purchased a Saddleman Road Sofa Carbon fiber with silver stitching and love it. Replacing the stock seat for rider and passenger comfort was necessary. I considered others such as Mustang, Corbin etc. and was not happy with the styling and reviews from the competitors seats.
The fit, finish and construction of the Saddleman is superior to the others.
I just returned home from a week of riding the coastline and wasn’t sore at all. The blend of the gel and foam works very well. The seat height did raise me up about an inch from the stock seat though. I would recommend this seat over the others all day long.

I’m trying the extended reach road sofa. I’m loving it. Pretty sure I’m going to go ahead and purchase. If your 6’4” or taller I highly recommend. Especially if you’ve extended the floorboards, shifter, and rear brake pedal. Night and day difference from stock. Oh and I bought 6 cans of the Sprayway cleaner yesterday. 😂

I picked up the SDC pro seat for looks. But i think i would have been happier with a road sofa. it still looks very good
For comfort you can't beat the road sofa. The SDC does look awesome but not good for a passenger at all. I recently added the Saddlemen Step Up Tuck and Roll to my CVO. Hi, Rick. I've got the Step-Up "Gripper" on my '21 Street Bob. Have put 9K miles on the bike and seat, and friggin' LOVE it! Couldn't agree with you more. Plan to add a RKS to the fleet later this year and am considering the Road Sofa, as well as the Step-Up SDC. Which do you recommend for a RKS? Thank you.
I think it depends on what type of riding you plan to do. If not long distance then my choice is the SDC. It looks cool and is comfortable. Obviously if you will be laying down big miles, I'd recommend the Road Sofa. Both are great in my opinion.
@@HDVIBE Thank you, Rick...sound advice. Even though I've put a lot of miles on my Step-Up in a short time, no ride has been in excess of 200 miles. I feel comfortable and have no issues after the ride, so you raise an interesting point. Maybe I'll plan a longer ride on the Step-Up and see how I feel afterward, then decide. Thanks again, man! ✌🤘

I have had a Saddlemen LS Slim on my RKS since 1000km. What is my experience so far?
The saddle is 2cm higher so I catch more wind behind my windsplitter screen.
It is firm but catches potholes and vibration better. After 2 hours of highway I do get a pain in my ass. The whole day inside roads I don't have that.
The saddle is porous so you have to take the rain cover with you (the SDC saddles do not have that cover!).
I am satisfied and it looks great! costs here in Holland $675!!!

I have this seat without the heated option. I like the seat for 2 up riding, but it took a long time to break it in. I have a Saddleman Slim for solo adventures and it was much easier to break in.

Great review…I’ve been going back and forth between the Road Sofa and the SDC seat. I ride a 2020 Ultra Limited. Between the two seats you run, which do you prefer for solo, or two up on your Street Glide?
For two up, the Road Sofa is they way to go. Your passenger will thank you. If your riding solo, the SDC is great. It's not as comfortable as the Road Sofa, but I've done 3 plus hours on the SDC with no problem. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching and commenting. Met you at the skills ride on my Vision. Would like to upgrade my seat eventually. Use a airhawk pad now. Butt doesn't usually get sore per say but get a strain in my lower/mid back. Have had a bike with taller bars and thought that would help but had the same issue, so thinking it could be the seat.

I'd suggest giving them a call. They are always helpful and very friendly.
And do they custom make them to fit the rider or do they just make them with said material? I know some of the other seat companies like Day-long take all kinds of measurements and ask all kinds of questions but of course you really pay for those.
Saddlemen makes the seats for specific bikes. They do some custom stitching and the like but don't really change how the core seat is built. I'm not sure if the build seats for Victory but I'd suggest checking out www.saddlemen.com or giving them a call. 👊👍

Great review - I just picked one one with a driver backrest. The biggest thing I need to get used to, is the height. It sits me up a lot higher than the CVO seat.

How would it fit a 5'3" biker that rides a 2017 RGS??
The Road Sofa will definitely work on your bike. It does set you up about an inch higher than does the stock seat. I would suggest trying one on a demo basis. If your local Harley dealership sells Saddlemen seats, they typically will let you try one out on your bike for the day...at least they do so at my local dealership. I Purchased a road sofa less than a year ago put about 5000 miles on it very uncomfortable. I’ve just purchased a Mustang touring deluxe.
That's Michael for sharing your experience. Seats are very personal for sure. I switched from the stock Harley seats to Saddlemen exclusively on all three of my bikes. They work very well for me and have made my rides much more comfortable and enjoyable. Thanks again✌️👊👍

The Road Sofa will actually set you just a but higher than a stock street glide seat. Another option that sits you closer to the ground and is slim at the tank is the Saddlemen Touring Step up. The lowest Saddlemen seats I have used are the Saddlemen Slim or the San Diego Customs by Saddlemen. Check out the video I out out comparing 4 Saddlemen seats for a good overview. When you sit on it. Is there a gap in between the tank and seat?
Thanks for watching and commenting Richard. I have never noticed and gap between the seat and the tank. The Saddlemen seat pan is much more rigid than the stock seats. You don't get much if any flex on the Road Sofa from the Pan so the weight on the rear of the seat does not cause the front of the seat at the tank to rise up. I definitely would recommend the Road Sofa. It's definitely the winner in my book for those 2 up longer rides. If I'm not riding long distance I run the Saddlemen SDC (CHECK OUT THAT VIDEO) or the Saddlemen Slim. The gelcore technology is a game changer for me. I have about 400 miles on my road sofa right now. I dont know if I am going to keep it. I work about 50 miles from home, about half way home or to work I am wishing I was at work. My a$$ hurts so bad, and my legs dam near fall asleep. I am a bigger guy, im 5'10" and about 330 pounds. Maybe this seat is not made for a big boy. I had high hopes for it. I will try to get to 1000 miles B4 returning it, but as of right now, its not looking good.

I can't say if the perforated version is better than the non perforated. I doubt that there is any performance difference but more comes down to the look you prefer. The basic construction of the various Road Sofa models is the same. Thanks for watching and ride safe. 👍👊✌️

I understand. But hearing that they sent you the seat and asked for a review is what makes it harder for me to take in a true review. I would personally not want to discredit any product sent to me free for reviewing purposes there for possibly blacklisting me from other sponsors out there, I mean let's face it. Bike parts are expensive! I would be giving it all a 10/10 for some goof parts
