- In this video, I give an in depth review of the San Diego Customs Pro Series Touring Saddlemen seat for the Harley Davidson Touring models and specifically on my 2019 Road King Special. This seat has technology and features you don't typically find on most touring seats such as Gel Technology, Gripper area, a sleek back rest, and little to no break in time. I have ridden about 1,000 miles with this seat and feel comfortable giving my unbiased review and conclusion on this seat. Very nice seat. I've been having "tailbone" issues too but figured mine was from an old stock seat and being a big guy. My rides were getting a lot longer because I had to stop every 80 miles to stand for a few minutes. I'm hoping I will get similar results from my upgraded seat as you have from your upgrade. Godspeed

does this seat push you a bit forward vs the stock seat on the ROAD KING SPECIAL (without the backrest)? I saw your other review where you compare the SADDLEMEN seats and recommend mostly the STEP UP TR but aesthetically I don't like it as much and reach wise I don't know how it compares to this one and the stock seat.

Now i want to order a SDC with rest. In Holland is your price €660 (based on your usa price!) Here in Holland you have to pay $853 (€750) for thisone!! Thats a huge ammount of money, though?. …

I live in Florida and I was wondering if the heat from the Sun would cause that gel to break down if your bike is sitting in the sun while rider is at work day after day. 🤔????

I just did a video on the Step Up. I am already thinking about trading up to the SDC Pro after a week. I'm 5'8" and the Step Up is irritatingly high. Do you think this is lower? I have a 30" inseam.
The SDC is low to the bike. I'm 5'10" and I have at least 2 plus inches above the seat when I stand up. That's on my Road King Special which is low with the 12 " rear shock. Hope that helps. Ride safe 👊👍🇺🇸

Great video! Have you heard that Saddleman is coming out with their own version of the pro-series. Maybe at the end of the year. Supposedly better. That the only reason I have not pulled the trigger. You are right I rather have the options purchasing it at saddleman direct.

hello im 5,7 and atm my stock ROAD glide is a little big for me getting my foot fat flotted, but i really want this seat, is it bigger than the stock one so it would make my problem worse ? :(
This seat is lower than the stock seat. It should help you getting closer to flat footing the bike. 👊👍

Hi there, subscribed to your channel and liked your videos, looking for advice. Have a HD ROAD KING SPECIAL 2023 and thinking of this seat. I'm 6´1" weight around 220 pounds. Normally I do 3 hour runs but during the last hour tailbone issues start appearing with the stock seat and also higher up on my lower back as the edge of the seat matches the area where I wear my belt. Essentially I would like to ride longer time, full day or weekend trips with comfort but also have a seat that allows me to maneuver the bike for commuting and slow speed maneuvers, otherwise I think the sofa would do it all. So, in summary, would you still advise this seat but without the backrest? reach is ok atm, maybe a bit tight on parking maneuvers so I think that 1 inch forward would do the trick.
Thanks for watching and subscribing. The SDC will set you back about 1 inch firther than the stock RKS seat without the backrest option. With the backrest option it's pretty close to the same maybe slightly further back. At your height, I would think it would be fine. As you mentioned, the touring step up on my opinion is more comfortable for long trips and will set you forward a bit more than the SDC. You may want to see if a dealer in your area carries Saddlemen seats and has a loaner program to try them out before you buy. My local HD dealer has that program. Thanks man@@HDVIBE the problem with dealerships where I live (Spain) is that basically non have seats on stock, even less a loaner program, they don't want to buy them from the brands before selling them I guess, since the brands don't send them any for showroom or test. Just called the local dealer for Saddlemen and that's what he told me. Same thing with any expensive parts like exhausts, stage packages etc ... .I´ve read more reviews on the Step up vs the SDC Pro and reviews are so different, I guess each ass or back is different :P
@eddiemorales6009 I see...I did not realize you are located in Spain. I'll give you my thoughts...SDC Pro is a great seat. I ride 2 or 3 hours with it and my butt is good. I could probably ride longer with it as well no problem. The Touring step up as I stated my favorite seat for really long days. The SDC gets the good look win over the two seats. I hope that helps and good luck with finding the right seat for you. I'll also say part of the issue for me anyway with the RKS is the stock bars. In my opinion worst stock bars Harley puts on any of the touring bikes. I never changed mine out but there are definitely much better options to get a more comfortable riding posture.
@HDVIBE Thanks a lot again man, really appreciated. You're probably right about the stock handlebars, still can't figure out the right position and distance, at lower speeds upper back suffers and at higher speeds with the pulls lower back takes more of the fatigue. Probably need it to be a bit higher and have better lumbar support with the seat so both problems are solved. By the way, have you ever tried the Bad Boyz Cycled Freedom seat?
@eddiemorales6009 I have not tried a Bad Boy Cycles seat but I have heard good things about them. I think they also use Gel in their seats like Saddlemen I believe. ✌️👊👍

I’m searching for a cruising seat for long rides. Will this seat be comfortable for it? I’m riding on a fatboy21 stock seat, and it’s killing me.
The SDC is more for the mid distance rides. I'd say a good 3 hour or so ride seat. 👊👍

I am considering the SDC Pro for my 2021 RGS and I have one very important question...is there enough clearance under the seat to clear all my electrical connectors as I have the blade saddle bags lights and the Custom Dynamics brake light flasher module. This is not a problem on my OEM seat as it has that hallow area for the OEM back rest bracket...please let me know and thanks for sharing your review.

I have bag blades, plug lights, latch lights and the plasma rods as well as the smart controller for the 1157 SMART Dual Color rear turn signals all under that seat. O highly recommend the seat without question. Also highly recommend the smart 1157 dual color rear turn signals by @customdynamics. Very cool product. very good review,I have been searching for a new seat ( I have lower back issues ) and trying to decide between the SDC or a Saddlemen Road Sofa .Any experience with the RS ?
I do not have any experience with the Road Sofa. So I can't really compare the two. The Road Sofa definitely from looking at it has a thicker look which I would think translates into more cushion for the longer rides. As I mentioned in the video, the SDC looks very cool, but, I dont know if you are laying down a lot of miles in a day, if it is the right seat for that type of riding. I would say the SDC is a performance bagger seat, yet, it is very comfortable for that 3 or 4 hour ride. Thanks for watching and reaching out. I have experience with the Explorer model which is the touring model for the Sportster, which is basically the same as the Road Sofa. I have a spine injury and this seat is amazing! I can ride forever with it. I fear no bumps or extended riding times. I’d say the first 1,000 miles is the initial break in and don’t worry it’ll keep surprising you every 1,000 bye getting better each time. Added plus, they don’t get hot in the sun.

Will that seat fit a sport glide 2020

Quick Question on Saddlemen sdc pro seat I'm 10.5 tall and about 250 would this seat be a good seat or not? Be on street glide. Love the seat just not sure being a bigger guy if the seat would be comfy please any advice?
First thanks for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it. If you haven't subscribed, I'd appreciate you considering doing so. Second to answer your question...I am 5 10 and 170 or so. The seat is very comfortable for me. I would call this seat a 500 mile per day or so seat. It's definitely not a long distance seat, but for a decent trip is fine for me. Your message wasn't clear as to your height, but, for me at my height it is good. With out the back rest, you will sit back another inch or so if your taller. I have run the seat on my Street Glide Special as well and it is very comfortable. If your planning on laying down big mileage trips, I'd suggest the Saddlemen Road Sofa LS. I just put out a video on that one last week. It's definitely more suited for long distance. As far as weight goes, I think you will be fine. They are much firmer than the stock seats but I feel provide much better support. I hope that helps. Feel free to reach back out if you have further questions. Ride safe 👍👊🇺🇸

No worries. Your height is very close to mine so you should be fine from that perspective. It will just depend on your ride style or length of your rides.
Are the saddle bag guards stock? Or aftermarket?
They are aftermarket. I put them on all my bikes. If you go to the video list on the channel I have a video on the topic as well.
