I had a buddy help out with the drone shots. I think he did a great job. Thanks for the kudos.

I like detailed in depth stuff.

How much drag do ebike magnet motors have when the motor is off and you're pedaling or when coasting to a stop??
I know 1 benefit of non magnet induction motors is. They produce no magnetic flux drag when turned off & coasting or pedaling.
I want to build gas/electric hybrid Ebike/motorcycle. Where the 125cc engine is used on hwy at 55mph & the front wheel/hub electric motor is used in city limits as an ebike.
If the magnet motor has lot's of drag. I'd probably have to use a non magnet induction motor with no drag.
I've never had an ebike & really need some 45-55mph transportation. So I'm jumping in with little ebike motor experience. But plenty of motorcycle & motorized bicycle experience.

That's a good question. I don't have a specific numerical answer as to how much drag they have. It probably has a lot to do with motor size as well. This particular setup uses a freewheeling sprocket like a pedal bike, not fixed like a motorcycle

@@chrismakesstuff1 🤔 I'll be a front wheel motor. It'll be something similar to a Honda cub 125cc but also with pedals & a front wheel electric ebike kit....So in certain areas I can use a combination of pedal power & electric only for low speed 25mph city riding. Then other areas I can cruise along at 55mph using engine only. If the 750w hub motor only has a slight drag it should be OK.

Sounds like a fun project. I've never attempted that combination before, but I see no reason it couldn't work.

@@chrismakesstuff1 I've seen several 2wd ebikes that work great for off road & little 2 stroke motorized/electric bicycle hybrid builds. Where the front wheel e-motor helps with steep hills & acceleration. That the little engine has trouble with.
What I want is cheap transportation, a stealth hybrid that gets great mpgs, can safely cruise at 55-60mph on back country roads and looks like an ebike that doesn't need to be registered, insurance etc...I was gonna use 18 or 19in moped or motorcycle rims & tires on a reinforced steel bicycle frame with a rear suspension. I'll probably start off with a 6-7hp 2 stroke snowblower engine that I already have. Instead of a 125cc semi auto 4 stroke & use an ebike front motor kit. I seen 125cc motorizedbicycle build & he'd ghost pedal past cops. In my area of western Illinois coos won't be an issue. But I'll need electric only when I go to Burlington Iowa across the river...I built a 29in motorized bicycle & with a 52x40mm 2 stroke engine (single gear) it's capable of a 50 to 55mph top speed but #1 is unsafe using bicycle parts #2 It's a 2 stroke so it'd burn up trying to ride full throttle high rpm at 50mph on hwy. Gonna sell my 700cc cruiser motorcycle. That only gets 35-40mpgs & can't go off road.
I'm gonna use a smaller rear sprocket so snowblower engine rpm will be lower when going 45-55mph & use front motor for boost up hills. I'm hoping I can possibly use the engine to recharge the ebike battery if needed but that's a bit complicated. I'd need like a 150-200w riding lawnmower alternator ,belt pully, step up converter, etc...

I like the idea of using a pedal start moped as a donar vehicle. I believe Honda passports had 2 speed transmission and would do 45mph with a 50cc engine
