- In this video, we start a new E-bike build starting with a 1970's women's Schwinn bicycle. This design features hub-less wheels, full suspension, and duel swing-arms. Designed, engineered, and hand built entirely from scratch.

looks like what batman would ride to the grocery store
Hahaha. That's awesome.
Good job, nice project. 👍
Thank you
For the wheel bearing rollers, I don't expect them to last very long in that orientation. The roller set up is great of alignment and keeping the wheel true, but all the mass of the rider and bumps are transferred sideways through the bearings and the sides of the rollers. I expect it needs some rollers to take the vertical load which allows the side rollers to be just for alignment.
That is a good point of concern. Judging from past builds with a similar setup it hasn't been a issue yet. That being said the nylon wears pretty well, but it will wear.
That bike deserves a proper Shwinn Stingray banana seat. Make it happen.
I did consider those, but the mods to this one came out pretty good in episode 2 coming out Sunday
you're an artist and an engineer, so badass!
I appreciate the kudos, thank you.
that's a piece of art, bravo!
Thank you. I appreciate that.
i love random fun engineering projects haha, youtube suggested the right video haha, this is awesome.
it would be so cool to be there and watch the project come together in person and even help out if i can haha
Thank you, I appreciate that. Random is our specialty. lol. Some videos are based on electric vehicles, some tractors, some cabinetry.
@@chrismakesstuff1haha I love it, I'll definitely be around keeping up with what you get up to, I love random fun projects haha
I agree. Sometimes I like to have 3 arms, too :-) Awesome stuff!!
3 arms would be great, especially when soldering. Thank you.
21:55 they call in CAD or Cardboard Aided Design on the Matts Offroad Recovery channel hahaha
I've seen there channel, its good stuff. I remember years ago, the old timers on the shop floor referring to CAD as Cardboard aided design. haha
@@chrismakesstuff1 they really do, I love them showing the engineering, and eventually how it turns out, like their recent ish wrecked!! That thing is sick, I also love when they find things that didn't turn out how they thought and they show how they went wrong and what they did to fix it
Engineering CZcams is one of my favorites, and that includes you now haha
But yes hahaha, I thought it was so funny the first time I heard cardboard aided design hahahab
I haven't had a chance to see their latest video, its on the to watch list.
@@chrismakesstuff1 it's another good one haha, I think it would be so cool to meet them one day and just have a conversation with matt and the team
good job bro
I appreciate that. thank you
grind hard plumbing co monster chopper inspired steering
I've seen their build, pretty cool. They built theirs originally with pneumatic rams, then hydraulic. This build was done with mechanical linkage, but it's also been done with push-pull cables. While the design is uncommon, it's been used for over 60years. Very common on outboard boat motors.
Very fun build. I'm liking the concept, but my ears (earphones) are not loving the sound balance of the low volume speech and loud power tools.
Thank you. Video editing is not my strong suit... still learning how to cut, edit, and adjust volume.

Nice try soild rubber tires
I'm not sure I know what you're asking
@@chrismakesstuff1 you haveing a problem with mounting the tire because of the valuve stem i dont know were you are from but share bikes have a normal tire with a hard rubber insert to prevent a flat this mite be a answer to your tire problem
oh that is a good idea. we did manage to figure out a solution using a tube that will be shown more clearly in pt. 2 of the build coming out soon. thanks @@therawbieboardzshow9763
