Rogue Overland Expedition 2020 - Southern Utah Overland Adventure

- During the 2021 Rogue Overland Expedition we visit the sandstone laden terrain of northeast Arizona and southern Utah. Stops along the way include Comb Ridge trail, Valley of The Gods road, Muley Point, John's Canyon trail, Monument Valley, Horseshoe Bend, Barracks trail, Zion National Park, and Toquerville falls. Some of the overland vehicles on this trip include a Nissan Xterra, Toyota 4Runner, Chevy Silverado, Toyota Tacoma, and a Jeep Wrangler.

Probably my favorite thing about rogue overland videos are the variety of vehicles. Sure there are Wranglers, Tacomas, and 4Runners....but OTHER brands get representation too and holy crap that diesel truck is huge.

We did Valley of the Gods in a rental Ford Expedition. It's a pretty easy road.

I missed this year. I'm curious on how the white Xterra is set up for this. I would like to know what I need to do to my 06 Xterra,to be able to handle this. It is 4x4 and I just put Falken Wildpeak AT3w's on it. Would a 2" lift work? Also is a snorkel necessary on the trails y'all do?

The short answer is yes. 2” lift with the tires you have will serve you well on one of our trips. Reach out to Nisstec lifts and tell them Rogue Overland sent you, they will take good care of you. Something like this setup would work great:

A snorkel isn’t necessary but it does decrease the amount of dust getting to your engine air filter.
The long answer is these are the mods on the white X:
Front...
ARB 700# springs with Old Man Emu struts, 1.5 inch puck, SPC UCA, Moog cam bolts, Moog outer tie rods, new jounces. All purchased from Nisstec, except the Moog stuff.
Rear...
1" shackle, ALCAN leafs reworked locally to provide 4 inch lift with 400 lbs extra load, Bilstein 5125 shocks. From Nisstec...new jounces, 20" brake hoses. ABS lines and parking brake rerouted for the increased articulation.

Thank you! It just depends on who signs up for the event. We usually get 25%-ish Nissans. It’s sad that Nissan isn’t really offering a competitive off road vehicle at this point in time, so people seem to be turning to Toyota and Chevy.
I understand, hopefully the new frontier will help out a bit! Maybe one day ill be able to drive out from QC Canada 🇨🇦 and join you guys with my frontier ! One day, maybe!

We drove Valley of the Gods a few years ago in a rented Jeep Compass. I didn't know if that POS was going to make it or not.
Sadly many “SUVs” are basically cars now. Very cool that you were able to see that road though, it’s beautiful.
