- Nick from the Rogue Overland Crew chats with Enoch from MoLeisureXventures about his 2009 Nissan Xterra. Oh ya, Enoch has been living out of his vehicle full time since November 2019! His simplistic approach to off road modifications yields a very capable but not overdone overland vehicle.

This dude seems pretty cool, down to earth and legit. It's nice for people to hear the real truth (both good and bad) of the 'overlanding' life...especially when it's full time. Good luck to this guy.
He is super cool! Thanks for the comment.

Love all the b rolls and seeing the vehicle in decent detail.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it!
Very inspiring! I think it's time for me before it's too late.
Go for it! Thanks for watching.

Xterras rock!
Agreed!
Truth!
Awesome basic set up. My WD21 Pathfinder was totaled last year and it's getting harder to find them in my area. So we are looking to upgrade. Thinking a Xterra or 4 Door Frontier. Love what this is and so much room for more. Love the idea of the sand ladders he has. Also love the trailer set up as well.
Good luck finding a new rig!

Great Xterra.
Agreed. Thanks for watching‼️ You might also like some of our adventure videos which have many Xterras in them.
Yeah cool...I like it
Thanks for watching!
Thank you!!
An air bag kit for 2nd Gen Xterra and Frontiers is available on Amazon for roughly $400 . Easy install and they work great
Thanks for the information!
Nice X. We have a lifted 14 pro4x that we use for overlanding as well!
Very cool!
Awesome, where are you located we are always down for a trail ride.

I live in my 2004 externa with my 80 lb dog
Nice!
Gread video! I notcied he has a manual transmission. I have a 2012 Xterra P4X and in need to a clutch soon. Do you reccomend Centerforce (more $$$) or OEM which is Exedy I think. I don't do a ton of hardcore off roading or towing. Nice trailer as well!
We have done fine with the stock clutch on out manuals over the years. Nice X you have!
We actually just replaced the original clutch at 185,000 MI! We installed the OEM clutch hoping for another 185,000 mi out of it!
Thank you for watching!
So I'm not familiar with an Evap issues. Fill me in. I've got an '05 Automatic S model that I've had the SMOD, but got Goodwill Warrantied, done timing chain and both cats. Now I'm dealing with the difficult P1273 (may have fixed it b/c I hadn't gotten the front flange of the passenger cat where it mates to the header sealed and had a big air leak which a mechanic has remedied for me. Replaced a lot of hoses on top of the collector, including PCV valve and he's suggesting next move is to replace the collector itself to ensure no hidden plastic cracks. He chased down a LOT of tiny smoke test leaks for me off various hoses on that thing
Sounds like you are really working through it. The issue with the Evap is it pulls "clean" air from out of the rear wheel well. The leads to the system getting gunked up with dirt. So most people fix it by relocating the breather tube for the system.
Thanks for watching the video!
So I am working on my Xterra building it into my version of off-road/overlanded build I know it will take long time but it will get there..
Now I am tying to figure as to what skid plates to get there are few options metal and aluminum , I have come across few people who run this aluminum plates by that company and they seems to be happy with it.. I just wonder how strong and how much abuse it can take.. as always on the budget so can't just go buy something for it to fail and buy something else.. nor can't really buy something expensive
Watch this video, it should help you decide:

Question about those roof top tents... are they bear proof? Any other wild animal issues and the tent?
They are not bearproof. We have used CVT RTT for 6+ years without issue. Thanks for watching!
Nope, we have had no issue over the past year.
Just bought an 05 xterra with 105k. Loving it so far. Planning for a lift and some other fun stuff soon
Good luck with the build!
What are y'all talking about with the evap system
The issue with the Evap is it pulls "clean" air from out of the rear wheel well. The leads to the system getting gunked up with dirt. So most people fix it by relocating the breather tube for the system. It's the system that deals with pressure and fumes in the gas tank.
@@RogueOverland thanks man I appreciate it
Everything they said!
Nick, what long sleeve are you wearing! Could you plug the brand?
It's from 5.11 Tactical!
Rip to the bike 🤧 (it got stolen) I follow them on Instagram
We saw that and were sad to see it. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the love!
So the truck is stock... lol
stock-ish. Thanks for watching!
Pretty close, the primary goal in the build was to keep it as simple as possible all the mods were reactionary to a situation that I put us in on this trip.
Id say the xterra is perfectly capable even if it was stock. He's overlanding not rock crawling lol.
Awesome video! I have been full time in an FJ for one year, before that about 6 months in an Xterra. I recently upgraded to a 5th gen 4Runner with a roof top tent and loving it. @Tula1953r on Instagram
Awesome‼️
Cool review but you act like a robot. Maybe have a few beers before making the video
Thanks for the input, we are always looking to improve.
No reason to drink alone, I'll have a few beers before I watch the video. 🍻
