  • Just having some fun testing a different camera angle and some GoPro settings. I got the angle idea from watching Global Mountain Bike Network ' s video ( • Top 5 Mountain Bike PO... .
    I am not too happy with the resolution of the video but I am sure that is an error on my end (settings or upload process?) as I am still getting the hang of all of this. The camera angle is pretty cool. Even though I looked like a complete dork (not difficult for me to pull off), it was still pretty fun to shoot this. It was pretty difficult to ride fast though with that thing sticking off my head - so all you get here us a little cruise at the local park. Anyway - there were a few guys asking me to post shots from a different angle and since I am a one-man-show this all I could come up with for now.
    The bike is a size XL 29". Take a look at my channel for other vids related to this bike.
    Let me know what you think.

      Nice. Be sure to take your time installing the derailleur hanger. The can strip easily if you don’t get it aligned just right. Enjoy the beast!

    Nice camera angle and ride too, how is the 38 ride how stiff is compare to the 36?

      Thanks. I have not ridden the 36 but the 38 is pretty nice. It is plush and stiff (flex).

    Do you think the shred is worth the upgrade from a Capra AL base 29? I want the fox set up over the RS...

    • @coachrz7919
      @coachrz7919  Před 3 lety +1

      If you are deciding between the two of them as an original purchase, I would say the shred is worth the $1200 price difference. The fox 38 fork alone is almost $1000 retail. If you have a Capra AL base now, you can probably pick up a fork and shock upgrade and get pretty close to the shred’s set up. Of course there are other upgrades between the two. I was trying to decide between the Pro and Comp models when the shred was announced. I actually wanted a coil set up so it was the shred was a logical choice for me.

    Looks like the shock and fork are setup too stiff
    But I really like that bike

    • @coachrz7919
      @coachrz7919  Před 4 lety +1

      Great point. I had the shock on the stiff setting because i forgot to change it after my climb. I think the fork was about midway. Kicking myself because this angle would have shows the travel much better if the suspension was set up properly. I plan on making some adjustments so thanks for the observation.

    Awesome bike! Did you change the spring or keep the 450lb?

    • @coachrz7919
      @coachrz7919  Před 4 lety

      I kept the 450 lb spring. I had the shock set to firm on this ride. I wish I would have had it set to soft to show more activity but the trail is actually very mild and when I ride it without that camera extension. On my head, I use the form setting.

    • @coachrz7919
      @coachrz7919  Před 4 lety

      I am not very technical when it comes to shock setting and technology so I am probably not the best person for a shock review. I will tell you that I like it and I appreciate the convenience of the soft and firm setting switch.

    Hi Coach. I'm 6.0 feet tall, ordered an XL Capra Shred 29'er due end of November (🙄). Should I change the order to an L, or do you think XL will fit me? I'm average proportions I guess, arms, torso and legs not short, nor long. Thank you.

    • @coachrz7919
      @coachrz7919  Před 3 lety +1

      It all comes down to your preference. Either size will probably work but I can’t make that call for you. Personally, I like a larger bike so the extra large works out great for me. I have a friend that is about the same height and rides a 27.5 Capra in size large and he likes it just fine. Again, it all comes down to preference. If you’re in the Southern California area, perhaps you can go to the mill and try both sizes to get a feel for it.

      Coach RZ interesting. I’m just over 5’11” and I’m about to pull the trigger in a L
      But thinking about an XL
      Do you feel your bike is in the bigger side?
      The reason I’m leaning towards L is to keep the whole 29 wheels and the long wheelbase in more of a nimble package in the tight trails I have here.
