Best video I've seen so far re: Latte art. There tends to be a big difference between those who can DO it well and those who can TEACH it well.
Thank you very much for the kind words!
AJ

You are a good teacher. Clearly you have been through all of these mistakes and you documented and learned from it. However, to be able to articulate it out clearly in simple non technical way is another whole level of teaching. This is probably the best latte art video in youtube.
Hi Thomson, thank you so much for the kind words! I had a brief run as a professor before diving into the coffee world, so maybe there's some carryover from that. Cheers ☕️
AJ
Really the best I have seen
@@Wholelattelovepage Keep going, I really liked your explanation!
Other tutorials don't know the importance of dissecting the steps, and if they do, they do it with too much info dump. You sir are truly a master of your craft for explaining it well while providing just enough info and visual aid for a beginner to really understand latte art without feeling overwhelmed or confused. Thank you!
Probably one of the nicest comments I've ever gotten. Thank you! I went through all the beginner frustrations myself, so I try to explain things in a way that I would have understood back when I was first starting. I'm glad you and others find it so helpful!
AJ
Thank you so much for emphasizing the difference between at-home entry level machines and professional espresso machines for cafes. This is very rarely discussed in tutorials. I’m still trying to sort out how long I need to inject air before putting the steam wand deeper into the milk. I realized after many videos that the 2-4 second rule for powerful espresso machines simply does not apply to an entry level espresso system most of the time. Great video.
Glad it was helpful!
This video is ridiculously helpful. You articulated so many details in such an accessible way!
That was truly comprehensive and easy to understand. I love how you really broke down the steps and explained each with enough detail, and you were simultaneously succinct. I’m going to really enjoy perfecting my technique and referring back to your tutorial! Thank you so much!
Hi Jan, I'm glad you found the video so helpful. Thanks for watching and good luck perfecting your latte art!
AJ
I've worked in speciality coffee for two years now and still can barely manage to pour a heart every other day. It's not as easy as it looks!
I figured out all these mistakes over half a year of practicing. Wish I had found this video sooner, you nailed everything perfectly.
Thank you! While it may be frustrating, nothing beats firsthand experience.
AJ
This comment is all I need to know to how valuable this video is, thank you
This is the best, most thoroughly detailed latte art tutorial I've ever seen. I will be referring to it often. Now I know exactly what to keep in mind during practice. Thank you for this!
Thank you very much Doug. Happy to help!

I almost never appreciate CZcams videos, but this was easily one of the best I've seen on the website. Far from being clickbait, I am absolutely making multiple mistakes mentioned in this video and I had no idea. Thank you for posting this! You're one of the very, very, very few good ones.
Wow, thanks!
It is pretty clear and helpful especially about the distance and speed among 3 phases. Thank you so much for sharing!

Thanks, Dave. All of the fancy designs in the world won't save bad espresso. While shooting this video I was using one of my favorite beans, Carraro Tazza D'oro: www.wholelattelove.com/products/carraro-tazza-doro

This was genuinely such a helpful guide! I have been trying (and very much failing) to pour some sort of art and get decent milk texture. This guide was well structured and did a really good job of tackling common problems with steaming and pouring. Great job!
Thanks, Sahan. Glad you found it helpful and I wish you luck with your latte art!
AJ
It's really helpful to break down the steps of pouring ... with relative position and speed ... 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

It's so good!
I love those tips, thanks
Glad you like them!
Thank you for the tips and advice! I have been a coffee drinker since I started walking and talking. I love all coffee. My husband and I just ordered our first home espresso machine, I greatly appreciate your advice about the steam time on the milk for my home espresso machine vs if it was a commercial machine. It is well past due for me to get an espresso machine at home. I can not wait to practice. I look forward to drinking all my 'mistakes', however, I love your tip of practicing with dyed water and dish soap! As excited as I have been to drink my mistakes, I am excited to learn that tip!
Thank you again!
Hi LRLH, You are welcome for the tips and advice!

love the practice technique you recommended! I always feel like crap for being so wasteful with milk, as it was my only way to actually practice it. But now that you have suggested an actual no-brainer technique, this is seriously an eye-opener!
You're so welcome!

I would love some elaboration on why we pour fast during the design. Great video!
Hey MrB, Thanks for the comment and question. A faster pour gives the velocity needed to push out the design.
Good overview. Lots of practice seems pretty important. Latte art is definitely an art! ;)
It really is!
Very good video! Thanks

No question the best video thus far regarding this important step in making lattes/caps/espresso. I’m struggling with milk texture with my Breville Barista Express. Hopefully this video will assist better in my technique. Please point me to additional videos
