      Bruh Fr. I can barely get mine to form anything. I think I primarily need a pitcher cause I’m using my French press and looking at the way it flows, it doesn’t flow out the same as a pitcher would.

      @@diiii_mond You do need a pitcher. I too did latte art with my french press in the beginning, but the tool is not designed to pour latte art unfortunately.

      I saw a barista doing almost the same thing(forgot his name) the different was he put coffee powder on the cup(no liquid just powder) in the first try so it wont discoloured the milk so much so you can try and try again using the same milk to practice. That is actually a very good tip indeed. Love it.

      Also using tiny drop of hand wash and water would give u very similar milk texture if u want to practice texturing

      Quick tip: if u have food coloring, add water to your cup and a dash of coloring, and for the milk just add water to your pitcher and a drop of liquid soap and it simulates the milk :) and no more wasting coffee or milk

      @@rodrigoom5311 we should have our own guild of latte art practitioners who forces their family members to drink lattes for the sake of our practice 🤣 But I'm happy to say I can do a fat triple tulips now! But sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't, the point is to keep at ita you'll be happy when you see all the practice is paying off! 😁

    Thanks a lot for the bonus tip! I've been trying to pratice this but the enormous amount of lattes to drink and the excessive milk consumption have been getting in the way. Nice to know there is a simple method to practice this!

    This popped into my feed after i poured my upteenth cup where my art was chunky, especially the last line. I realized i was doing the final pour too close to the cup.
    Also I think I'm pouring too slow and starting the art too late. Amazing advice! I also need to get me some cocoa and a shaker to do some practice! So cool!

    Really nicely presented video! I would have loved to hear a little bit more about step 2 really - how you start pushing that art on the surface, my milk quite often sinks or doesn't form a discernible shape even when i pour from a low height.
    Also if anyone else is reading this and don't always have chocolate - cinnamon powder makes for a good handy substitute to practice.

    Great tips, thanks for the video.
    I have also heard that a way to practice is to use water with one drop of washing up liquid. It steams up a bit like milk and you can practice over and over. I've tried it myself and it's not a bad way to practice if it's the art and not the frothing that you need work on.

    Great video! I either get milk that just sinks below or a thick blob that doesn’t flow backwards at all - just sits there. So I’m thinking after watching this that I’m struggling with consistent texture and also maybe speed. Trying to change multiple variables at once is hard though to figure out which one is the main problem.

      You can get a milk pitcher that has temperature readings on the side, which is especially useful when training new baristas. What I learned was to take the milk wand out as soon as the pitcher is too hot to put your palm against. And make sure to tap the bottom of the pitcher on a flat surface to get rid of air bubbles

    Great value in the video. Texture is the first thing to focus on. You can practice steaming with a jug of water and a droplet of dish soap.
    Anyway keep on making those coffee videos!

    That last tip is a true game changer I believe. As a home barista drinking one cup a day (mainly because the oat milk is 3$), practice is only once a day otherwise 😂

    Hey thanks Paul, you've just explained how to froth milk correctly, so simply and it all makes perfect sense "why couldn't I see that"!!! I've been making espresso flat whites & cappuccinos (at home) now for about 5 years and have always wondered
    how they do it so much tastier in the cafe with exactly the same coffee beans.
    But it does take practice, thanks for the tips on how to blend the coffee and how to prepare the milk for latte art.

    My mistake is milk texturing! Always too thin or too thick :( I can't even perfect the art cause I haven't been able to practice making ANYTHING cause the texture is way off every time! lol

    0:32 that is the way my manager makes the latte art for customers. Actually, she hates getting smooth foam for the latte. Then she told me to do the same way. I gotta say: wow... it is not called Latte art Lol....

      although it doesn't have anything to do with latte art it is one way to make a cappuccino and if you will even the "original" way. silky microfoam and thus latte art only ever developed in the late 20s century.

      I had the same problem and I realized that the cup shape was a big part of it. Try it with whole milk in a cup with a round bottom!

    Im sure my steamed milk is too thin, how do i get it right without too much foam? Second question, i cant tell when its time to start the latte art?

      Practice makes perfect! Try aerating your milk within the first few seconds, while working on creating a silky spin in your jug. We'd say the half way point is a good time to start your latte art. Hope this helps!

    My biggest mistake was milking a cow directly into the espresso. The milk went everywhere but the cup. It was an udder disaster!
