The one consistent thing about Louis in the entire series is he gives credit where credit is deserved.

Louis and Mike's interactional all early seasons were a real treasure!
The characters were exceptionally well defined in the early seasons and then the writers felt they needed to give them an arc.
Wdym? You want the characters to be the same for 9 whole seasons? Its maybe true that some things couldve been better, but come one the character development in this series was a solid 8/10

@@daviel1005 and this is the man that went from a drug dealer to a lawyer in like 10 minutes in the first episode. Clearly there was an arc present in the early episodes as well.
I missed this Louis during later seasons when they pumped up his insecurities (sometimes to ridiculous proportions)
At first he was evil 😂 later he became weaker and weaker
Early season Louis was more interested in beating Harvey then being friends with him. They had to make him more cool, conniving and competent to convince the audience that he was a rival to Harvey. Once they dropped that rivalry he went to being insecure, over emotional and clumsy. He briefly went back to his early season self when he uncovered Mike's secret and became name partner, but he regressed shortly after. I wish they would've found a better balance.

The only part I don't like about later seasons ( season 8) is they show more actual legal work done in earlier seasons than in later seasons. Season 8 had too many people acting like Harvey trying to do shakedown. Least in Season 7 Mike talk strategy at the Clinic.
When Louis took over as Managing partner in Season 8, he acted professional and showed Harvey and Robert how childish they were acting.
Truly believe that Louis is the star of this show with the most complex character by far.

it's just impossible to sit comfortably next to Louis
Shame the writers could never figured out how to write a consistent Louis and just had him be whatever the script needed to make an episode work.
Does he value loyalty more than anything or will he betray everyone he knows for the most petty of reasons? Depends on the episode.
He's extremely emotional/tempermental and it causes him to act irrationally and against his values
He values loyalty, but at the very beginning is also very uncomfortable in his own skin. He is working his way up in the firm, to impress people like his family and others around him, but fails to know how to relate to people. His jealousy of Harvey, while wanting to be Harvey's friend makes him prey to manipulators like Hardman. His struggles to relate makes it difficult for him to see social situations the right way. This leads to moments where he thinks people he's be weonged and or laughed at, then lashes out viciously. He starts to calm down and be less extreme once he attends therapy and finds love. It's these issues psychologically that inhibits judgement theoughout, but fundamentally at his core is loyalty.

Some people didn't like Louis but I enjoyed him. He was hysterical.
I liked when the show was about a law firm practicing law
Although I hated Louis at first (which I’m sure was intentional) looking back at it now, he was always there to help the team. He was loyal through and through (yes I know he sided with hardman later) but scenes like this and him saying “I know I can come off prickly, but we’re a team. That means I’m here to help” easily gets overlooked many times because he’s too emotional.
I think anyone in their right mind who has been belittle so many times and disregarded, and mocked as he was at work (by Harvey, who we all know, did it because he was a dck and Jessica never stopped him and sometimes even allowed in front of her) would have side with Hardman, which from outsiders perspective was a better boss, he was not aware of all what he had done, once he did he backed off and supported the team. Which is super understandable. Louis had to make an extra effort to be recognized like Harvey and he would still be mocked even tho he was one of the best lawyers they had. They just were dcks to him because they found him weird.
Rick Hoffman needs more recognition. Dude is awesome.
Maaan I actually liked the Litt-Ross combo and when Harvey took him away from Louis was one of the saddest scenes in this show! I'm very glad Katrina more than made up to being a replacement for Mike as Louis' top Associate.

@@averredanielian he wasn't betrayed.. in S4... he messed up a 100 times in a row and disobeyed jessica directly.. that was grounds for firing... not betrayal. harvey messes up once instance but fixes it.. louis messes up about 5 different things
I've never watched the show, but I think this is the only clip I've ever seen that paints Louis in a flattering light
One other I can think of is when he, Mike and Harvey are working on a case together and they need Louis' accounting expertise and he is able to break down the reasons for the fraud and is able to add numbers in the millions together in his head, in an almost idiot savant way.
mike being a sucker for being tricked into those briefs and also a sucker for believing donna with the file hahahah
One thing I loved which isn't quite in this scene is that the fact that Mike delayed the patent actually nearly cost them the case...
The way Louis can say things with a straight face is beyond amazing.
Donna's voice is really something else!

Really hated how they turned Louis from an interesting character to just someone who added drama. He had so many moments where he could've shown growth but instead they kept bringing him down.

I miss these early episodes of Louis. I coudn't finish Suits because they made Louis unbearable to watch, yelling in rage over trifles.
The whole cast are amazing actors but louis takes it to another level.
Characters who are gifted and flawed at the same time are a gourmet meal for the actor. No perfect people like Rey who is a saber-wielding plank for her entire character arc. People who succeed in spite of their flaws...and sometimes, even because of them...grow and develop.

A Harvey can make an organisation profitable, but it takes a Louis to keep the organisation running to make those profits...

Without Harvey it wouldn't have lasted beyond one season.
Louis is my favorite character of the show
i don't have any expertise in corporate law or any law for that matter but isn't the difference between listed and potential assets pretty obvious and as Mike says a possible multi million dollar mistake. So Louis is just saying that Pearson Hardman "the best law firm in the city" managed to hire 50 people from Harvard Law "the best law school in the world" and somehow all of them are incompetent? I think P H needs better HR
tbf I think thats the reason he read over the brieifing himself because associates could make that mistake whereas a partner likely wouldnt
I was told by a lawyer, personally, that they are all lacking in the ability to understand numbers and things that deal with money in particular. I found it to be true after the attorney I hired, agreed with me to charge a flat fee to represent me then only billed me half the amount and told me how much he enjoyed working on the case because of how well it paid for the time he put in. I shut my mouth and went home after thanking him.

How is proofing those briefs any faster than googling how to file a patent
Filling patents is incredible complicated in the US. It's not only going to the office and putting the request. It takes months of research to do it properly. This episode was really inaccurate in this regard (and in other points). LegalEagle channel did a analysis in this episode and he explains it better

It isnt but thats the point. The associate who filed the patent knew the job he conned Mike into doing was much harder and longer to undertake than the initial patent filing.

Almost all hollywood shows/movies with coffee scenes irk TF out of me. It's obvious how the coffee cups don't contain anything as it is being handled without weight. A real cup wouldn't even move an inch because of the heavy fluid inside. Shame on you, directors

you would think they would research how patent applications are actually filed and processed, and yet in several episodes they might as well have been discussing underwater tap dancing as that would have been closer to correct compared to what they yammered about.
I liked when Mike called louis out for trying to get him fired and other harassment that Louis claimed was just work games, and that's why people don't like him.

Harvey such a badass lawyer he didn't get a freaking Patent done for his client product before going to investors. Any decent attorney would have had all of this done months ago.
I get it when they decided to make Louis more lovable and human in the later seasons but I didn’t appreciate that they did it by him a chubby(not in a body shaming way) clown. He can be tough and smart in a non-childish way.
