In this tutorial, we will be covering the origins, insertions, innervation, blood supply and functions of all the muscles found on the hip and thigh. Those are muscles that are attached mainly to the femur and the hip bones.
On the video, the different muscles will split into the different muscle groups where they are usually found. Some schools define the groups by function, but on this tutorial we will define the groups by their location. The hip muscles are going to be slip into hip muscles and gluteal muscles. While the thigh muscles will be slip into the anterior, medial and posterior groups.

Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else wants to uncover hip flexor pain exercises try Letza Joint Relief Lessons (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my brother in law got cool results with it.
Very informative video!
Which hip muscles are tight or weak in posterior pelvic tilt? I am bit confused in this as I need to work on these muscles according to their tightness or weakness. Thankyou!

Also this slightly irritated sighing every now and then in between :D
LOL Agreed! The singing and "I-am-trying-to-be cute" style is annoying... but hey, the info is good. Just hard to get through! ;)

Injury of hamstring can be managed with correctional exercises of hamstring only.
Nope, that is not the only management for injury of the hamstrings. It all depends on the type of injury and site of injury - proximal hamstrings v.s. distal hamstrings.
If it's a proximal hamstring injury, it can be managed alongside corrective exercises of the gluteal musculature, majorly the glute max and meds.
If it's a distal hamstring injury, it could be managed alongside corrective exercises for the gastrocnemius.
Thanks for helping me
I know l am a kid but l still love anatomy and l also some options for what will l be when l grow up for that i think a libarian or a scientist 👩🔬

VERY INFORMATIVE :)
Wow. So good.
There’s a lot of muscles! 🤯
Great video
great video
Great channel
Very useful video
😍😍😍 just awesome
The site mentioned in visual for the flexor muscles tendon is actually the patellar ligament (not tendon). Above the patella, the quadriceps is called patellar tendon.
It can be called either way but it is actually more correct to call it 'tendon'
Beautiful👏👏👏👏👏👏
perfect❤
8:05 is not the quadriceps tendon, this is the patellar ligament.
i agree with you, but since the patella is a sesamoid bone, the patellar ligament can be also considered as a continuation of the quadriceps tendon.
@@ceccato91 it really depends on which source you rely.
@@yoseftarshis7518 The quadriceps tendon is between the muscles of the quads, to the superior aspect of the patella. From the interior aspect of the patella to the greater tubercle of the tibia is the patellar ligament (sometimes incorrectly referred to as the patellar tendon). The quadriceps tendon is continuous with the vastus intermedias, and the rectus femoris inserts into this tendon.
Nice presentation
Nice video tysm
Nice but the chirpy computer voice is distracting.
Outstanding kn
Thankyou
I think sartorius helps in lateral rotation of hip... Plz check
9:05 what’s the other green/blue colored areas? Maybe this is answered later in the video.
Thanks for support ☺️☺️

great video!
Good work🎉
Thank you! 😊
How can we tell if we’re the 60-30% blessed with the psoas minor?
Very nice
Video is nice but Some of the things said are wrong or incomplete..
Hi, have you covered the Erector spinae group? Thanks.
Hi there :) On our website www.kenhub.com we offer several learning materials about the erector spinae group. Take a look at these links, for example:
*Article Erector spinae muscles: www.kenhub.com/en/library/anatomy/erector-spinae-muscles
*Video Intrinsic muscles of the back - lateral tract: www.kenhub.com/en/videos/the-lateral-tract-of-intrinsic-muscles-of-the-back
*Video Intrinsic muscles of the back - medial tract: www.kenhub.com/en/videos/the-medial-tract-of-intrinsic-muscles-of-the-back
We hope you like them :) Have fun learning!
@@Kenhub That's fantastic, many thanks.
I love the australian accent, especially how she says facia latae

here's several things for ways to exercise hip flexors
Slowly start walking further every day
Start an anti-inflammatory diet
Consider trying yoga lessons
Lookup some online guides
(I discovered these and why they work on Fergs pain ease site )
nice
really helpful for med stud who sleeps in class (:
Really great explanatory video, as always. Someone remarked about the unique voice being funny, but for me personally it was extremely irritating, but hey ho, it’s my opinion. I love Kenhub and their teaching aids and just wish we had those 40 years ago, without this voice of course ;)
I love anatomy as much as thighs.
It was very beautiful voice and funny.
Chinese voice...
Some of my favorite muscles... the iliopsoas ofc ;)
Im here preparing for my military training
Can doing hip exercises help with reproductive organ health?
Posterior compartment of thigh -- Hamstring muscles 😃😃
Gluteal tuberosity of femur is wrongly indicated in animation, I think. It really is where muscel grows into femur, as correctly shown here. (3:42)
Tnx
How are you Niazi
Where can I get this pdf please
What is a conductor mussel
Please make your all videos free on CZcams, some are preview videos 🤧
I would like to say that although the squat is a relatively good exercise, its not the best exercise out there for the glutes. A better exercise for the glutes is the hip thrust or the glute bridge as the glutes fire the most near full extension of the hip.
Am I the only one who noticed that both obturator internus and externus have the same origin in the video's diagrams? Obturator externus originates anteriorly not posteriorly*
I'm industrial engineering student, i have no idea what i'm doing
guess you're here for bootys
Sir why you put obturator externus in medial group of thigh not in deep layer of gluteal muscles
Hello there! Functionally the obturator externus works with the inner gluteal muscles, however anatomically is sometimes considered as part of the medial compartment due to the fact that it is found anterior to the hip bone/ischium i.e. separate from the other gluteal muscles.
@@Kenhub all deep posterior muscles lies behind the hip bone as well as hip joint... with exception of of obt. Ext.. which lies behind the hip joint but not the hip bone as u say...
0:13 upper leg is not made for lying like that kind of int. rotation.
I often get pains in my hips especially the right side. When I lay down I can slightly rotate my femur and I can feel the bone rubbing and passing by something that is very very tight. It kind of hurts but it also relieves the pain in my hip when the bone rolls across the muscle. I’ve never been able to figure out what’s going on until now. I believe that muscle at 4:18 is the really tight muscle that’s causing the pain. Thanks for the video it helped me to understand what’s going on inside my body lol
Hi there, try seeing a physiotherapist for this issue

Addressing the QL during massage might be beneficial. Also psoas work. The psoas cannot be directly contacted during massage, but it can be contacted indirectly.
