Derby Traffic - St Alkmunds Way and Snow 1969

We see the final preparations for the opening of St Alkmund's Way, a new road, in Derby. A sign tells us that it is stage one of the inner ring road. We then see speeches at the official opening and a motorcade driving onto the road including the Mayor's car. We also see traffic crossing St Mary's Bridge. We then see traffic driving in snow around Derby including some point of view shots from moving vehicles (including around Kenilworth Avenue and Osmaston Park Road in Peartree) and traffic driving through snow over St Mary's Bridge. There are also two exterior shots of Normanton Barracks (one with heavy snow). We also see St James's street in the centre of Derby in snow and a high angle shot looking down at the Morledge. The reel ends with shots of the river Derwent and work on a bridge.
