- Derby RTC is difficult to view from the ground - See a birds-eye viewpoint of this huge site. Lot's of locos to see - With a couple of class 37's on the move whilst filming.
Adjacent is Etches Park sidings and depot for EMR. See the units onsite and facilities to keep them stored/maintained.
This footage was filmed in full compliance to current CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) regulations for drone usage (Dec-22)
Hope you enjoy the video! Thanks for watching.

Always a pleasure passing the depot when coming into Derby. Best part is seeing the class 37s I never know which side of the train to look out of. I remember years ago a few old Gatwick express carriages that had been left on the sidings for years.
Really enjoying these flyovers. They're particularly interesting when there of a depot/yard that you can't get a decent view of from lineside
Thanks Nick.. Agreed - Those are def the most interesting ones.
I love these aerial shots. Great footage. Thanks for sharing. 👍
No probs - Glad you liked it 👍
Tractor Overload, so many in one location! Well Done.
I have always wondered what was behind the scenes at derby RTC, great video here 👍
It's a massive site. Another amazing unique insight. Thankyou again. These are brilliant.
Great video 👍
I always like going past Derby RTC on the train, as you normally get loads of heritage traction stabled there
They look like model trains from this view
Another fantastic video 👍
Fair play to you with your commitment and determination this year. Your channel has excelled. I’ve followed you for most of the year and enjoyed viewing your footage
Keep up the great work 👍
Cheers Arthur - A few miles completed this year for sure.. It’s always fun though when it’s something you enjoy. We’ll have to catchup soon 👍
@@trainsplanes yes pal. I’m sure we will meet eachother at some point 👍
Fantastic video, thank you for posting :)
Another Winner! Excellent.
good stuff, surprised you didn't cover the carriage works as well in one go.
Battery, range and visibility reasons for that. 👍
Nice video mate
I have not seen the banana HST in ages
Cracking video mate, keep the coming
Cheers Chris 👍
Used to go round Derby works quite often
Very impressive video.
The best one yet!
amazing
I've built a model railway layout based upon the RTC site. Quite a few vids on 'tube under Deadmans Lane
Brilliant footage .I too am really enjoying your drone videos. What I would have given for drone technology in the 1980's , lost count of how many times I was asked to leave TMD's back in the day! Was wondering if York would be on your list for the future?
Thanks! I’ll get some shots of York when next in the area. 👌👍
Certainly one that you can't see at all well from the ground so great that you've been able to capture the area. So, where are you when you send the drone up? How far away?
Hi Steve, there’s a few spots you can take footage from at the perimeter fence line.
lovely video. do you have to get permission to fly your drone above these depots or can you just do it
Hi Ben, different types of drones have different requirements.
At least 4 class 37s i counted
There is 9 at 3:31 if you look closely
Did you get all the numbers 👍😂
Haha! I wish 😜👍
