Jordan 2024 holiday
A short video from my holiday in jordan was limited to trips but made sure got wadi rum in also petra although visited there before from Egypt this was longer visit and was able to go to the monastery (never again) but still beautiful to see and glad I did it.
Was lucky enough to have been there during the independence day got the best spot next to the news crew for the fireworks and mingled with the crowd afterwards
People was friendly and really enjoyed my stay it's on my list of places I would revisit.
*was shot on the insta360 ace pro apart from the fireworks and independence day crowd was shot on the samsung s23 ultra*

Derby Traffic - St Alkmunds Way and Snow 1969
There's a great brief glimpse of the bus station near the end of the 1982 part. It was so unique.
Must be after 1968 as I think St Alkmunds has gone. So agree: 69-70. I remember some of this like the timber yard
Great footage. I'm amazed how busy it was. Shops would love that footfall now. The traffic! Needs a ring road, oh dear
This is Buble at his best
Looks like the Derwent flooded by Chester Green area Coach and Horses was on Mansfield Road, I think.
Thanks for showing this. My mother grew up in St Alkmunds Church Yard just a few doors from the Eagle and Child. This is the Derby I grew up in, until leaving in 1968. So sad to see Derbys only Georgian square destroyed in the name of progress.
Wow. Great video. Thanks for posting.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video looking back how nice Derby was it a right run down dump now not a nice place to visit anymore what a shame letting it get that way and we no why it got that way!!!!
I agree I was just talking to my mum about it has much has we complain now our standard of living is much better where even those on lower incomes can still afford a better life. And on the flip side for years I hear nothing but great things about this era
Fascinating video. A reminder of what it was really like for many people back then. So much for the 'rose-tinted glasses' brigade.
What an amazing place Derby used to be, the parks look so beautiful.
Derby looked lovely then it a right dump now what a shame make me very sad to walk round Derby now
NICE 😂 I MISSING😊
WHY YOU DIDNT SWEAPING, ENJOYABLE EVERYDAY I KNOWN😂
As someone who was born in 1954, I can assure you that most of the programmes featured date back to the 1960s rather than the 1970s. Great selection nevertheless!
Glad you enjoyed it...even though I was born in 76 most I remember from repeats
WOW! That was amazing, cheers. You've got good taste! It was like seeing the contents of my head hahaha
"Co-op Milk - The Gateway to Good Health". Does anyone remember that red and green neon sign on top of the Co-op building (East Street was it)? I left Derby in 1974 when I was 18. Morledge market, Cockpit hill still intact, Spot Bogs(!), Ranbys, Seven Stars, Cleopatras, Edgar Broughton Band... I think trolley buses had stopped by then. This film captures for me what it felt like to be a teenager back then, it was fun, mostly. A never thort ad see mesen walkin daan street 50 odd year later on CZcams... One shop that's stood the test of time is RF Potts on Babington Lane - I'm seldom back these days, but it still gives me the tingles to stop and look in the 'posh' window then the 'ex-WD' window!
Same! I left in 1971.
Good times 😊
Derby looked great back then and the people seemed happier also
I don’t recognise any of the places but I yearn for it ❤
The Young manager being interviewed talked a lot of sense, he could go far 😜COYR ⚽️🐏🏆👍
Great footage, if this was all filmed at around the same time then I could have been into1970 but at least mid 1969 using cars as a means of dating.
Seeing Cockpit Hill, the cattle market and the bus station, then the council offices and River Gardens and then The Arboretum- just makes me yearn for those days again.
Cue comments from morons about how unwanted change is due to immigration.
Hi, I am a musician. Derby born and bred. I will be making a music video soon for release in June. I would very much like to use some of this footage in the video. With your permission of course. Would that be possible? Thanks. Phil
Yer that be fine
@@flash301 thank you. Phil
Thank you so much for posting this video, that's actually my mum taking the monkey for a walk, she worked at phillipson pet shop and that where she met me dad, sadly they both died last year😢
Oh wow what's the chances of that but sorry for your loss... Had to look twice as first thought it was a cat
@@flash301 we only ever heard mum talk about the funtimes and taking the animals down the river gardens for a climb in the trees down there, never saw any pics, but was blown away to see a video, even tho it was short, still blew me away, thank you so much👍👍❤️
@@MrRichardhind7 really pleased you found this in the video
Thanks for posting. I spotted the lady walking her monkey, maybe from the pet shop next to the bus station.
Best footage of old Derby I've seen. Thank you for putting this on. Fabulous to see it how it was back then ❤
fantastic post but so sad to see what was a great town.
Who'd have thought the roads were so busy even then?!
Yer I thought the same
I agree definitely late 60s see if you can spot the lady with her monkey near the council house
Derby town centre, late 60s early 70s by the looks of the cars and fashions. Very nostalgic. Thanks for this.
that made me almost weep , It took me right back ,especially saddler gate
I wish I could be there but I was born in 76 even then the 80s was still better then now
give me the old derby and people any day.
Cool
All those white people, whatever happened to white people in Derby?
They stopped having kids
Does anyone have any videos or photographs of Marks and Spencer 1961 onward to 1969
i saw it all it was an abandoned nursery
Tragic derbys nearly all gone so sad
Soooo good. Too bad Violet wasn't there for Chop Suey toward the end. Spicy stuff!
I agree and it will just get worse with the weather
what a mess, real shame
No idea how it started but could be squatters
Any cause as of now or?
oh thats a shame, nice building that. Guessing its empty and someone has "a grow" there.
The City Fathers have a lot to answer for. It used to be nice, like Belper.
Great stuff. Always fancied filming the fireworks with a drone over Derby myself. Nice work!
Thanks just did it in time in between the rain
Not sure but where it was less fireworks.
