it is wild hearing about metroid dread before it was properly revealed.
I honestly love these collections, I always love rewatching Scott the woz episodes, so having a bunch of them with similar themes is a miracle for my serotonin
I don't mind, but they make me question this channel's purpose. Is it to publish compilations, or is it to publish small clips from videos? They're basically the opposite of each other.

"Doom The Absolution" was absolutely not canceled. It was just going to be the name of DOOM 64, until they decided that having a cool name was a bad idea.
I'm pretty sure that decision was actually why it originally sold so poorly. Ig people thought it was just a port of the original.

I went to Tokyo game show in 2011 and still have pamphlets and stickers for Mega Man Universe. I’m keeping them as a relic
Hopefully it’ll still come out some day. Even if it looks 80% different than what we saw.

Am I the only one who was fully on board the Phantom's hype train back when we were kids? I thought it was going to not only come out, but really change the landscape of console gaming. I told all of my friends about it and how amazing it was going to be. lol
As a console + PC gaming lover, the thing seemed like a dream come true(considering it was the early 2000's). I knew the company was a huge underdog to compete with Sony/MS/Ninty, but I thought they were gonna pull it off and at the very least carve out their own decent sized hardcore fanbase. I was so disappointed when it kept getting pushed back and eventually cancelled.
Getting hyped for things like the Phantom as a kid really made me a skeptical adult. These days I always find it hard to put my trust into unknown companies who are planning on creating an amazing product, building, theme park, etc. Really any type of difficult project.
For example there's this amazing crystal lagoon resort+Mattel Adventure theme park being built near me in Arizona. We've never got any cool theme park resorts here in AZ and finally getting one here was something I used to want so bad as a kid. So it feels like a childhood dream coming true. And it's already half way finished being built, yet I'm still being negative expecting it to fail. I'm finding it hard to believe it will even be completed(let alone live up to the hype).
It's hard to be positive, I've been let down too many times. 😂😭 Idk how investors trust random ass companies borrowing millions of dollars expecting them to live up to their promises. It's wild to me the kinds of projects people pour tons of money into lol.
If anything, seeing how many failed/scam Kickstarter projects there's been over the years has only solidified my skeptical nature. I just can't trust anyone enough to get hyped and emotionally invested into ideas/projects. let alone give them money too. lol
Around 22:30 I think it would have been worth it to mention that the big 3 was once Atari, Sega, Nintendo--so while it may work "best" with 3 console makers, the 3 will probably not be MS, Sony, Nintendo forever (but it might Nintendo forever)
I wonder why you counted the Virtual Boy as 4th Gen when there was a whole-ass Space Fantasy Zone for the TurboGrafx-16 that you coulda covered for that section.
If i could travel to alternate universes, I would prolly use it to go to realities where these cancelled games existed and then I’d be the only one in my universe with a copy of it.

For me Earthbound 64, P.T , Star wars 1313 and Mega Man Legends are the real games i still hope they could release even to this day.

Man, Rare getting bought out by Microsoft is one of gaming's travesties. I know people say that Rare wasn't the same Rare and that even if the buyout didn't happen we wouldn't have had great games from them again to that I say I disagree. Lots of the people who made Rare, well Rare left after the Microsoft buyout, probably would've sticked around longer had it not happened. I just wish we could've gotten Donkey Kong Racing, Banjo-Threeie, and Conker's Other Bad Day on GameCube, who knows maybe they would've helped the GC do better, we'll never truly know.
Can't believe there's an alternative universe out there where GameCube does indeed have those titles. Nintendo should've bought Rare after the N64 era, they proven themselves at that point imo.

i am still so pissed that scalebound got cancelled. it was the reason i even wanted a xbox and watching it get cancelled was soul crushing. and they just keep teasing it. like literally every year theres a new string of articles released talking about it potentially coming back. sometimes multiple times a year. they just keep giving me false hope.

These games might have been cancelled but I got a chance to play at least an hour of them.
If they made the N64 DD out of a standard but copy protected zip disk in 1998 then they could have really competed. Zip disk was faster then CD at the time.
