It's pretty cool that the old Master, Michael Schumacher still holds the race lap record from 20 years ago. That F2004 was an absolute beast!
Yes! I am amazed when I realize how many fastest laps he still holds
@@SarahNocchi an era where there were alot less limitations with regards to the engines noise / specs and environmental factors weren't taken into account.
it could also be because the W11 never had a chance to break the record.

The rain brought a good mixup! Norris on Sprint pole! Sprint will be interesting!! I did mention my top three prediction is Max, Carlos and Norris for the GP on Sunday!! Prez does look fast too
Excellent information as usual. I believe this weekend will be chaotic with both the sprint and the return of the shanghai gp. How could it not be? Don't prove me wrong f1.

This is a nice format. In terms of the sprint...I think it's obvious that Liberty/F1M are trying to give China every chance possible at being successful in terms of audience perception.
Definitely! Hopefully it helps. Still wish they did something more fun for the sprint format. Having sprint Saturday morning, prior to Qual session for Sunday will likely make it less entertaining, as teams won't want to take too much risk

I love this layout. Reminds me of Tilken's other track designs which are so distant from Europe's classic tracks. Anyway I think Leclerc is about to drop down the gauntlet on the Ferrari establishment. This track is so hard on brakes. Can't wait to see what the teams bring to the table since there's not much data from today's cars.
I don't know if I love it or hate it to be honest! Haha It's super fun, but very tricky and very easy to make a costly mistake. The weekend is going to be super entertaining, as it is very hard to predict anything for now!
I actually love this circuit. This and Malaysia are really fun to drive. Also Sprint weekend sucks too confusing.

This have been my favorite track in f1 23 besides Barcelona. I am really looking for to it. I am looking forward to it so much that I am planning on making a trip to Shanghai next year for it.

Reverse grid is fine for feeder series but it has absolutely no place at the top level. You dont punish success like that in a premier series. Give the slower teams more budget and wind tunnel time, etc, in the offseason so they can improve but don't ever punish on track performance like that.
Agree reverse grid for the sprint would be excellent. Let's go Max, Perez and Alonso in third as a wild card.

Yes definitely! I probably should have mentioned it hahaha but after looking into it, it seemed like it wasn't the main reason, and it's mostly the media coverage.

I'm weird, after 2 laps I know the whole track and can push the limits. My favorite track is Saudi right now.
I love pushing as hard as I can and almost kissing the walls. I set a crazy lap yesterday there.
The most realistic feel I have in an f1 car is on that track.

I think it's going to be close! On qualifying, certainly. During the race, not entirely sure. We were at 1.34.7 in 2019 so still pretty far from Schumacher's 1.32.3 in 2004
