RIP Mike Harrison. What an amazing vocalist. His gruff delivery complemented Gary Wright's falsetto pitch absolutely perfectly. One of the most underrated bands of all time. Brilliant. Just brilliant.
These guys were/are great. I had their first few albums when they came out, but never got the chance (yet) to see them live. They and Cream were my favorite bands when I was in high school. 1967-71. Yeah, ancient times.
"Spooky Two" is still one of my all-time favorites! I was just back from the Nam when "Dream Weaver" was released. Great to see and hear the fellas back and jammin;!
the reason why they never made it big was because Zeppelin came along at the same time,,this band rocked nyce specially the fillmore east,,they killed it
When I first heard this track I thought it was a Stevie Winwood, Jack Bruce tune not a "Dream Weaver" Gary Wright song... As old as this rock classic is it never gets old for me! To all you young rockers out there we old dude's knew how to play and still do.
I can't believe that it sounds so much like them from the Spooky Two album. I just happened onto this in a rare Progressive Rock mode which I haven't done much in last 15 years. What a treat. And the voices are perfect.
Power blues'rock jam! Fantastic blue'eyed soul voices of Wright and Harrison.. Now, THIS IS SINGING !!!! As good as Joe Cocker, Steve Marriot and Robert Plant ......SPOOKY TOOTH was / is a one of a kind group ! Can somebody put them on an American Tour please !
I have memories of going to DJ's in Belmar. three songs I remember the band played. knock on wood "Eddie Floyd", You keep me Hanging on " Vanila Fudge" and this one Evil Woman. At that time all of the local club bands played at least two of these songs every knight. I would give a dollar to hear a cover band do these today.
Amen to that!!! We used to do 3 or 4 songs by Spooky Tooth and people used to love to hear them... Gary Wright is on Tour this summer with Ringo's All Starr lineup...
Its true ... one can find anything on CZcams. I loved these guys and listened to their vinyl non-stop for an entire summer during the 1970's. Thanks for posting
I knew these guys in '69. I worked on the road crew in California on a tour that also had the great Terry Reid opening. Luther Grosvenor was on lead guitar. He later became Ariel Bender when he joined Mott the Hoople and after that he was in Stealer's Wheel (Stuck in the Middle with You) for a while.
*Frigging Love Gary Wrights High Pitched Voice Here, And The Bass Line Is So Cool...They Are Still Badass Sounding, And Certainly A Viable Yet Classic Band!*
This should have been way much more played. Killer band. And did the voice, still killer since 69. This is the shit young people need to be learning from, not that Justin bieiber bastard.
There so many people who don't even know who this band is I was young in my early teens when my dad introduced me to spooky tooth early 90's I never ever hear about these guys ever when people talk about music people think im being stupid when I mention the name as if I am making it up. I am glad that I had the opportunity to to listen and broaden my musical talent listening to great bands such as these guys this performance is awesome hey still sound great.
My pop loved Spooky Tooth also.Great band and I found this live one a few years ago and still cant believe how fuckin killer this is!!!Maybe better than the album version
Sportotorium and Pirates World. South Florida. Miss those days and the music. Every weekend different kickass concert.🎸❤🎸 Both places are gone but will never be forgotten.😢
Better than excellent! These two guys are my age too! Even more reason for me to be amazed. My favorite group of the early "good days of progressive rock"!
Yes, since the concert tour was in Germany, the group receruited two German musicians to fill in for the absent Luther Grosvenor & the deceased Greg Ridley. The two new guys are worthy successors.
I saw them do this at the pavillion on the old world's fair grounds in the Summer of 1969 when they shared the bill with Rhinoceros. They still got it!
Oh, my...I had forgotten about Gary Wright. Not familiar with his Spooky Tooth work, knowing him more for his Dream Weaver days. Boy, they do sound great!!!!!
" I Don´t Need No Doctor" de Humble Pie.
Gracias Amigo
I was just looking through some Al Stewart songs, and somehow led into this area. I bought my first couple albums in the late '60's...but never got around to checking these guys out. Anyone who listened to radio in '76-'77 no doubt heard Gary Wrights 'Dreamweaver',....good song, but much different style than this tune...Glad I was able to discover some of the cool stuff they've done, after all these years.
Mike Harrison. What a magnificent, unique voice. Always thought the 'Dream Weaver' (Gary Wright) tried too hard when he sang. Loved Spooky Tooth. The music critic mafia did not. They are in my R&R HOF. The other one in Cleveland is missing this great rock band.
I absolutely love Spooky Tooth! I was a huge fan in the 60's & 70's. I had no idea that Gary Wright ever performed with them again. Thank-you so much for posting this!! They are as good as ever. Wish they woud have sang "Lost in My Dream". What a great treat!
You broke my heart so i busted your jaw has always been one of my most prized Albums, right up there with Beck, Bogart and Appice. And this video shows they haven't lost it yet!
NICE!! Mike Harrison's vocals are still incredible. And Mike Kellie even gets his old sound together on the drums. I'm blown away by how good Wright and Harrison sound together. Thanks for the post.
Damn right they sound good. I met them at the Cleveland Agora in the very early 70s. They came in on the night of a horrible blizzard, they played one set and asked all 20 of us in the audience if we would line to drink some beers and shoot pool in the back. Ok with us.
RIP Mike Harrison. What an amazing vocalist. His gruff delivery complemented Gary Wright's falsetto pitch absolutely perfectly. One of the most underrated bands of all time. Brilliant. Just brilliant.
They were way under rated in the day and still are. One of my fav's
That lead guitar player is KARATE KICKING ! Love his playing . This song is so Classic ! You are so missed Mike Harrison . RIP PLEASE !
R.I.P. Mike Harrison... Never forget

Surely one of the most underrated rock band in the world. Endless class.
I worked with Mike for 7years. Nice fella and great fun!

Styx, Jo Jo Gunne, Spooky Tooth was my very first concert in the early 70's.
the reason why they never made it big was because Zeppelin came along at the same time,,this band rocked nyce specially the fillmore east,,they killed it

Thats exactly what I thought at one point, that it was Winwood. Funny how certain singers sound like each other.
This band blew me away in the early 70's, while I was serving in the Navy. My God, they sound even better now! RIP Mike Harrison!
I can't believe that it sounds so much like them from the Spooky Two album. I just happened onto this in a rare Progressive Rock mode which I haven't done much in last 15 years. What a treat. And the voices are perfect.
Duane Gibson i wsa like wow they can sing good.
Duane Gibson I learned of this band when I was off the coast of Vietnam, in 1971. They actually sound better with this performance! Great band!
Loved this song forever. Grew up with Spooky Tooth. You guys rocked the house in the 70's. Still do.🎸🎤🎹
Excellent song from an excellent group. Right up there with the very best.
Oh my freakin' God!! I love this song and I can't believe how GREAT they sound! I stand amazed.

I did the same. I couldn't get enough of them and especially Evil Woman.
This is what happens when you practice a song for 50 years.
Most excellent!
Still cant believe how on point this is!!!Damn its sweet. Cheers to the old school!!
Gary always comes back.....thank god
I knew these guys in '69. I worked on the road crew in California on a tour that also had the great Terry Reid opening. Luther Grosvenor was on lead guitar. Mike Harrison And Mike Kellie . RIP -- I Love Forever.
God, I love them
*Frigging Love Gary Wrights High Pitched Voice Here, And The Bass Line Is So Cool...They Are Still Badass Sounding, And Certainly A Viable Yet Classic Band!*
Talk about a band that should be in the Hall of Fame!
I never knew that Gary Wright was in this band. I love spooky tooth . It was played often in my household growing up in late 60s-70s. Nice surprise
This should have been way much more played. Killer band. And did the voice, still killer since 69. This is the shit young people need to be learning from, not that Justin bieiber bastard.
Darrin Ros
Well said !
You Tell Em Darrin !....I am With You..My *Rock & Roll Comrade !*
CANT believe you said that. DaRo, are you related to Don McLean. He said the same thing about John Lennon ad Mick
There so many people who don't even know who this band is I was young in my early teens when my dad introduced me to spooky tooth early 90's I never ever hear about these guys ever when people talk about music people think im being stupid when I mention the name as if I am making it up. Real talent never dies !!!
I can`t believe of that...Mike Harrison. His voice did not change at all!!! I`m in shock
FANTASTIC BAND AND SONG...
Brilliant. Still an incredible duo, voices once described as like The Righteous Brothers of rock. Very underrated.....
For being so OLD now, they still sound pretty good!
close my eyes and its 40 years ago at the Winter Gardens so good.
There's just something about a song that you practice for forty years...
Excellent!
Saw Spooky Tooth ( the singer) and a really professional band was with him @ the Beacon in Rahway, N.J in Auguest 2011.
OMG they're owning this ten times better than i woulda expected at that juncture in their careers!
1969...50 years, sophomore in college, Moon landing, Woodstock, Spooky Two...everything seemed possible.
Original version of this song has one of the greatest guitar solos ever...Grosvenor was absolutely killing it. This is one of my all-time favorites.
Increíbles! Lastima no poder haber visto en los 70
Damn that is Gary Wright! They sound fantastic! Love it!
I had this played at my wife's funeral.
Great combination of voices. Always my fave Spooky Tooth song.
spooky tooth kicks ass-even 30 years later
