Sorry for the bad sound in this one. My microphone is on its last legs! I got a new microphone though, and next week's video will sound a lot better.
It sounds like your compressor has a too long release rate :P
hay your tribal playlist is missing a load of videos eps 2, 4 though 8, 10 though 17 and loads more in total ya got only 11 vids
I'd love a history of that starter deck you keep cramming boosters into when you're 10.
Please dont bring my Onslaught Elf deck into this. Krosan Clouscraper was a 13/13!
@@InRealTime769 Yeah but when Legion launched next? Major deck upgrade then
I was trying to make my starter Mercenary deck work so badly. Stupid rebels....
Loving this new series, plus it's great to have even more content spread throughout the week. Can't imagine how much work goes into this channel behind the scenes but it's very much appreciated.
Glad you enjoy it!
It's already that old?
Darn, I remember when they were a brand new threat.
I know right ...
I'd love a history on Humans, Elves, or maybe just RDW
Rdw is my favorite standard deck whenever it's good
I think he does humans for his day job.
Well, you're in luck. The poll on next weeks topic has RDW as an option and it's in the lead.
@@Krunschy sadly it's not quite, the poll says burn so he might not look at red agro. Mono red goblin agro is just as much rdw as burn is.
@@stigmaoftherose Fair enough. However considering this, RDW is probably too broad of a deck description to fit this format, seeing how most iterations of the deck across all formats should fit a ~10 minute video. Especially since he already did a subtype of monored with the goblins video last week.
The last time I was this early, Sorin, Ugin and Nahiri were working to bind the Eldrazi
know what dredge would be a good one to talk about.
That was such a stupid mechanic. It's an enabler and payoff combined! Who thought that was a good idea?
@@littlegeek5159 exacly
Yes
Surprised that legacy Cloudpost decks didn't get mentioned here since their win cons are almost always a hard cast Emrakul
Right, but no Eldrazi synergy. This isn't about every deck that has Eldrazi in it, it is about Eldrazi decks, you feel me?
When i first got into MTG I believe one of my first decks was an Eldrazi deck.
Maybe a long shot but the history of Second Sunrise and various Eggs variants would be dank as heck
It isn't that long of a longshot, I don't think.
At some point it would also be nice to see videos that r compilations of a few decks that were 1 hit wonders (or at least only won during the span between 1 set n the next).
Other than that I'd like to see all the affinity/mud/shops decks, the titan decks, the lands decks, n all the variations of storm
Yeah, I do plan on doing shorter versions of these for decks with much less history.
Some of the best new content that keeps me glued to this account.
Interestingly enough, I've heard that in no banlist modern tournies online, the eye of Ugin powered eldrazi deck is up and away the most powerful deck you can build in modern.
They are far from the most powerful.
@@portingfreak what beats it? The hogaak/bridge deck? KCI?
@@666Metalbassist hogaak and kci are banned 2 years ago...
I guess heliod combo is the best deck rn. Also some bant stoneblade lists are pretty nice.
After mh2 is released there will be a huge meta shift and decks like junk and jund will be tier 1 again I guess
@@portingfreak No banlist modern has a different meta than regular tournament modern. In modern with zero banned cards, I think the general consensus seems to be the best three decks are Eye of Ugin Eldrazi, Dark Depths Combo, and the Hogaak/Bridge deck.
@@666Metalbassist ah overread the no bamlist thing I guess.
But then I'd still assume some uro-oko deck is Nr one because it even dominates legacy
I’m really enjoying this series Nizzahon. Great work!
Enjoying the speed of the history being told. Very clean Nizzahon!
Very cool series. I'm impressed you can produce one of these well-researched videos every week!
Great video. I started mtg in 2015 and love eldrazzi from the start. Just picked up 2023 commander deck and looking forward to modern horizons 3. Very powerful man ramp!
have you done top 10 creatures/atifacts,etc. that stopped being played the most bc of power creep or some cards being printed? like i remember when tradng for playset of serra angels was the best you could do.lol
I love this new series!
Thanks
Excellent video like always!
This series is so interesting!!!
This is a good format for videos
Thanks!
I already love this series
Thanks for the great content!! Keep it up!!
love this new series and eldrazi are my favorite tribe.
commenting for algorithm because he deserves it
Awesome series! :D
Thanks for this one
Would have loved to see some more in depth analysis of how the pre ban Modern Edrazi decks starting preying on each other and what set them apart. Colorless Eldrazi aggro, anti eldrazi eldrazi aggro UR, and anti anti eldrazi eldrazi UW. Even though it was a miserable time it was a interesting study in how a best deck can beat most hate thrown at it when it gets as good as eldrazi did.
Yeah he missed that Colorless Eldrazi was the original archetype, but was quickly supplanted by UW which became the dominant version.
Oh hell yeah! Eldrazi!!!
You missed that UW Eldrazi was actually by far the best Eldrazi deck during Eldrazi winter. The Colorless version was barely even played after the Pro Tour since it was so bad against the UW and GR versions.
Goddess forbid the Eldrazi ever assimilate (or are assimilated) by Phyrexia.
Eldrazi & Taxes is one of my favorite archetypes in all mtg, but Eldrazi Tron is one of my most hated lmao
Hi Nizzahon, I'm everyone.
I have a full devoid eldrazi deck with mana ramp and high burn
Still my favorite. Mostly because I started playing in worldwake.
Will you be doing a set review for modern horizons 2?
Nope! Supplemental sets like that just aren't worth the effort, since most people will draft it once.
I'm biased. I want Death's Shadow. The bad card that built a tier 1 modern deck for over a half decade now.
It will happen, don't worry.
@@NizzahonMagic I'm not worried. Looking forward to it. Thanks in advance
Surprised you didn’t show the Inverter of Truth/thassas Oracle combo deck in modern
Not an Eldrazi deck. Just a deck with an Eldrazi in it.
ah yeas, my favorite creature type
Eldrazi has been a favorite tribe ever since I saw them for the first time. Hope they return and would love Eldrazi Temple back in standard
I’d love to see a death’s shadow history
Eldrazi!
8:25 Was City of Traitors not legal in 2018's legacy?
Why would City of Traitors be illegal? It was never banned anywhere.
@@stepniak18 Listen to what he said at the timestamp that I provided in my comment.
Death and taxes, plz?
I do love me some Thron of amethyst
I’m surprised that you didn’t talk about 12 post in modern since the deck shat out Titans like it was nobody’s business
Who would win: Eldrazi Aggro or Silver Tribal?
Commander or otherwise?
In regular formats, Eldrazi, easily. In Commander, probably Slivers.
@@NizzahonMagic silver Overlord Commander FTW!
Rebals or Jund next please
Pretty sure aetherworks marvel had some success in standard with emmy and ulamog
It did. But having Eldrazi in a deck doesn't make it an Eldrazi deck. There has to be a tribal component (like Eldrazi Temple/Eye of Ugin)
@@NizzahonMagic makes sense. I was wondering where golgari Delirium was but this explains that
History of slivers please
That would be a pretty short video, but I suppose it could happen!
Waiting for the ichorid/dredge choice.
And RIP Eye of Ugin died for temple’s sins.
Eye died for eyes sins. I dont know what kind of biases you have here but eye makes much more mana than temple. No it not technically adding mana is not enough of a drawback to make up for that.
Eye is pretty clearly the stronger of the two. Eye died for its own sins. Continuous discounts add up far more than a land that adds two mana
@@JulianHernandez-tn5gu Exactly. The fact that you can potentially drop 4 Eldrazi Mimics on Turn 1 for 0 Mana is completely busted, and Temple is completely unable to accomplish that.
Can someone who knows the lore explain to me, what the connection between Ugin and the Eldrazi exactly is?
He sealed them away
Together with Nahiri and Sorin Markov, on Nahiri's home plane Zendikar. Nahiri stood as guardian and the other two left. They were half-awakened a first time by Akoum cultists that went mad due to Ulamog energy and Nahiri came and sealed them again. In the process Nahiri called for Ugin and Sorin's help as was the deal, but Ugin was "dead" and Sorin left her unanswered. She want after Sorin to demand a why from him on not keeping his word. Then centuries later Nicol Bolas schemed to have Sarkhan, Chandra and Jace together at the Eye of Ugin and Chandra to use Ghostfire she learned from a scroll in a battle there. 3 planeswalkers (as the original trio) + a Ghostfire activation was the complete unseal of them, and so the Rise of Eldrazi storyline took place.
The Rock next please 😇
Eldrazi Chicken :3
algorythm
Void Mirror probably gonna shut down etron.
Oath came out on Jan 22nd of 2016, not March
Id like the history of cascade honestly
Eldrazi was my first deck.. Damn I loved them
Bant Eldrazi has a sad...
History of prison decks
: )
I love Thot Not Seer
Algorithm
Sliver or nothing
I'll take annihilating your slivers
My fav worst deck ever ❤️
How could you ignore the colored small Eldrazi that made Spawn Tokens to supplement the high CMC of the first Wave?
Because they've never been a major part of any competitive Eldrazi deck, they aren't really what makes the decks go.
Eldrazi are pretty funny. Wotc was so convinced that they found something special in these hulking forces of the multiverse that they just rammed the stupid things down everyone’s throats with BFZ block and then Innistrad, effectively making players hate them since they’re no longer as special as when it was only the Titans and the few other creatures, they were used to destroy 2 previously beloved and iconic planes, and of course, how they traumatized competitive formats.
Dude shave your head and twirl that stache
