Koenigsegg Regera review! Today I'm reviewing the Koenigsegg Regera, which is an amazing luxury hypercar. The Regera has 1,500 horsepower, which makes it a fantastic hypercar -- and it's also a $2 million luxury car, which is impressive. I'm going to review the Regera and show you its quirks and features, and I'm also going to drive the Regera and review the Koenigsegg Regera driving experience.

Has the only Regera in the entire state, still folds license plate down for the traffic cam
Yes
Interesting video to see you commenting on, haha. Hello from a fan!
Also the button to do that is located behind the key BUT he said if you remove the key, the car won't drive lol
Odd to see you here commenting on a Koenigsegg review
from a fan
My thoughts exactly. Like hmmm which of the only 80 regeras was that one
Koenigsegg: “These are dihedral synchro-helix actuation doors.”
Doug: “So the doors do a half somersault...”
In earlier videos Doug got a hard-on for that door solution, now it's just "weird and strange".. Kind of a jaded relationship 🥺
No mention of what the mirrors do when the door opens?
LOL
I remember him on Jay leno: JL: “oh that’s the short name? What’s the long name?” CvK: “some pretty nice doors”
It's a pretty brilliant design.
Regera owner: "AHA! I lowered my license plate, they won't know it was me who was going 250mph on the interstate!"
[Gets pulled over anyway]
Cop: "Sir, you own the only white Regera in the USA."
😆😆
Ahh🤣 funny
@@perperson199 And believable.. I can indeed see police departments chasing down vehicles that could drive their departments cuckoo - and a Regera would do just that - an example, UNfortunately, is the Prince George's County (MD) Police Department - the primary law-enforcement agency of my home county.
A cop couldn't spell Regera.Too scared to work?Too lazy to steal? You can always be a cop...

I disliked the video just for this
The disappointment is real.
Came here for this
Thought the same when he mentioned that it had a great exhaust note, but didn't demonstrate it lol.
Doug: it sounds amazing... It sounds like a V8 muscle car.
(Cut to next scene)
Doug: Anyway...
Surprisingly, Doug didn’t know the quirk that If you pull both paddle shifters together while driving, it puts the car into “low gear” mode for downshifting instant acceleration feel. Christian koenigsegg tried it when (DRIVE) reviewed the Regera with him 😉
Those constellation style running lights are absolutely gorgeous.
Doesn’t press ghost button, doesn’t show us the actual emergency hammer...Doug are you okay?
And what about the roof
Forgot the interesting exhaust too
Doug said on reddit said he did cut off a lot of the stuff because he doesn't want the video to be more than 40 mins, I feel like he cut a lot of the stuff that he prob recorded but just too long.
He should put that cutted part in his youtube short
@@catinusz.4741 the parts he cut were more important than the rest of the video
Can't believe guy obsessed with quirks didn't even mention exhaust of Regera, which is definitely the quirkiest of all cars
Agreed
True. Love and appreciate what Doug does but he missed quite a few crazy things on this car. It is quite an overwhelming machine so don't blame him lol
@@theemasher777 Spent too much time on the infotainment center. On this car who cares.
@JeremiahAlmighty stfu kid.
I was sad about that too. Finally something I know that Doug doesn't know
Two things that I'm honestly shocked that I didn't see in this review:
1- no demonstration of the fob ghost button! I imagine it would look really cool seeing everything open at once on its own. Would make for a really cool gif.
2- no explanation for the two retro headphone jacks, located immediately adjacent the two charging usb ports. These can't possibly be for headphones/earbuds for passenger and driver, can they?! That wouldn't seem safe. At first I thought they could be used as stereo auxiliary ports, but then why have the dedicated usb port for music, and if they were for auxiliary purposes...why would there be two? In a car so modern, the very presence of these ports seems odd considering most modern flagship phones are ditching the ports altogether...so I'm left completely stumped as to the purpose of these TWO old school headphone jack ports.
Or that the shift paddles are actually a clutch slipper, basically a rpm booster that simulates a down shift when driving.
Modern phones are ditching headphones ports? Like Apple? Gosh I must be at least 10 years behind on tech, because I didn't even know that.
@@hakeemsd70m They started to a couple of years ago, but then got endless complaints from people about the lack of AUX ports, so now most companies make sure to have them on half/most of their models.
I think those jacks are there either to use with like racing headsets for communication, or just as a matter of convenience for those that want to hook up their headphones/smartphones with a good ol' hardline still instead of dealing with pairing/unpairing their phone all the time. There is still no better way to get a perfectly stable connection with the highest possible sound quality than by using a well shielded cable. I'm sure quite a few of the people that can afford this type of car are audiophiles.
“Here is the ghost button that opens all doors and hoods at the same time…” moves on
Yeah that killed me that that never came up again.
Yea Doug you gotta hit the button and open everything at once and show us!! 😂
"You could fold down the license plate bracket when you see a speed camera"
Good call. They'd never know which local Regera owner to send the ticket to.
Haha. Good point. If the car can be identified as a Koenigsegg, the owner can be identified with very little effort.
My guess is if they don't have a clear picture of the car with the license plate, then it wouldn't stand up in court. No matter how rare that car is, it can still be someone else's.
Y very much doubt that it can fold when moving 😂
Also the fact that the key fob has to be in the holder for the car to drive would make this not possible anyways
I was going to say. How many people actually OWN one of these things?
Disappointed he never pressed the "ghost button" 😔
same... WHY DOUG WHY ???
Im so triggered right now.lol
or showed us exhaust sound after saying how great it sounded :(
Also the fact that he did not point out the exhaust system 😭
WE WERE BETRAYED...
couple of guys find this car and the key on the table.
"bro, let's take it for a spin"
"shit i can't start the car, where do I put the key?"
"bro, put it on the left on that diamond shape thing, i saw it on Doug's channel"
For all the time Doug dedicated to explaining showing how the doors open and close, he still missed to mention that the mirrors fold in/out automatically as the doors open and close.
Yes, and you can open the doors on the buttons, they open all the way with the buttons, and half way when pulling the handels 👌🏼
One quirk that Doug didn't mention for those who didn't know: the exhaust is not the one in the middle, that's the electrical cooling vent. The exhaust pipes are the slots that looks like the diffuser fins on either sides of the rear end. It was made specifically by Akrapovič for Regera. You can see it at 25:59
Yes!
Oh btw this deserved more likes
If you notice, Doug doesn't get too deep into engine tech. Just the wimpy creature comforts. He's a millennial.
Doug is all about cool quirks and features and missed arguably the coolest one.
@@inquizative44 He actually knows a fair bit. He just keeps things simple because he's not a tech channel.
The direct drive mention missing too.
Doug is flexing hard, reviewing a regera, while standing in front of a speedtail while telling us about cars and bids.
Dat Speedtail tho

@ur awesome omg stop
If I'm going to watch a review of a car I'll never own, I want it to be the Speedtail, not a Koenigseggeggeggg

Koenigsegg continues to impress with safety features from people who actually seem like they care. Very nice touch with the glass breaker. Everyone needs a window popper in their car.
Does Doug ever stand still and not wave his arms around like he’s trying to take off? Anyways great video again
This made me LOL!
I’m from Ängelholm, we see these pretty often. I can literally see the factory and test track from my room

@I complete go away I'm not clicking.
But he spent 30 seconds talking about how the door opens, which we all know already.
@@SangheiliSpecOp Yep. I think he missed a lot about how the car operate. His comments about the power delivery doesn't make much sense, IMHO. But, in a way, I think it's understandable: I know I would loose even the power of speech, in or around a Regera, probably! :D

The frunk struts are not made in house, they are made by a company called Power-Packer. I was an intern there :)
Did you learn much?
Yea I was going to say, they wouldn’t have come up with that cringe name, that’s definitely an outsource part.
An intern at Koenigsegg or at power packer? If koenigsegg any memories that stick out?
Saw this car in person at one of the Triple F shows. So beautiful. Kinda feels weird like I saw a famous car Doug reviewed lol
How does it look in person compared to the Video?
@@kingsly1031 it's weird, it almost doesn't feel real since this was the first time I saw a koenigsegg, very nice tho
@@CaylebPletos as expected, i hope i get to see one someday.
@@kingsly1031 Not sure where you are from, but there are a few good exotic car shows around that have crazy things like this
The constellation LED headlamps with the cluster DRLs are just gorgeous works of art. I wonder why the Jesko ditched them.
One of the most clever cars ever, Koenigsegg never disappoints
edit: how’d i get 100 likes from a general statement about a video i haven’t even watched lmao
Better than any Japanese or American car
@Simp Simpson and yet your country still produces simps?
@Simp Simpson No reason old school Volvos are tanks.
Koenigsegg is an underrated brand.
Lamborghini is overrated
@@ProjectEurobeat literally every manufacturer is overrated compared to koenigsegg
I will likely never afford one in my lifetime, but I love Koenigsegg, and Christian is one of my favourite automotive CEOs the man is amazing. I want to do the factory tour they offer at some point.
One can dream of even doing the factory tour. I would literally cry if I went there lol
@@Bearsbeets.battlestargalactica if I ever visit Sweden I'm gonna put aside 600 dollars for the tour. It's honestly less than I was expecting lol
Facts one of my favorite cars
Not with that attitude you won’t
@@Jlmc5 I mean, at least he's trying to be realistic. I know in my lifetime I'll never own a Koenigsegg, a Bugatti, a Huayra, and a LaFerrari all at the same time because I don't even want that many hypercars to begin with.
Awesome, greetings from Norway 🇳🇴
Thanks a lot Doug. I really appreciate this video. Thank you!
