Now THIS is what you call a drag race line-up!
We’ve got Mat back in the Koenigsegg Agera RST, and he’s facing off against the almighty Porsche 911 Turbo S and an incredibly tuned Audi TT RS!
So let’s see how these three behemoths compare. Starting with the Koenigsegg, it’s powered by an incredible 5-litre twin-turbo V8 that delivers an eye-watering 1,360hp and 1,573Nm of torque. It’s equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox and sends all of its power to the rear wheels. It’s also super light, tipping the scales at 1,395kg, and it’s valued at a cool £3,500,000!
Alongside him we have the ever-reliable Porsche 911 Turbo S. Powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six, it can put down 650hp and 800Nm of torque. It tips the scales at around 1,640kg, and it’s valued at £180,000.
Then we have the tuned TT RS. It’s powered by a 3-litre turbocharged petrol engine, but the power output has been massively turned up! As a result, it can now put down an incredible 950hp!! It’s also pretty light, tipping the scales at just 1,450kg. However, it has one key problem compared to the other competitors - it’s only equipped with a manual gearbox!
So the Koenigsegg’s the most powerful car here, but will the RWD prove to be its downfall? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

@@Heeect00rrr The Porche was trounced in the rolling race when you eliminate AWD vs RWD differences. AWD drive cars will always win against RWD especially if the RWD has over a 1000hp going through the rear wheels its just how physic's work. Having said that the new Jesko will be much quicker of the line and has the fastest shifting gearbox ever created so that may win.

You mean AT LEAST koenigsegg made the the porsche look like its standing still when it started to get back into it . Because dont forget this agera has more than double the horsepower with 250kgs lighter , probably better aerodynamics and couple of million dollars expensive.

Despite knowing how the Turbo S accelerates, I did not expect that it could keep the Koenigsegg at a distance that long, considering the difference in figures. Amazing engineering.

I believe Porsche did some black magic trickery regarding balance, traction and power delivery. This model-year Turbo S is clearly overachieving in regards to launching from 0 mph.
Porsche performance quality is also shown in how the GT3 RS is lapping so fast with such 'low' hp and especially torque. I don't know a more efficient supercar. I don't think there is one. They are extremely impressive.

Holy Crap that 911!! I honestly thought it was there as a yard-stick to show how fast the other two were. It kind of reiterates the meme the Porsche bhp is different from everyone else’s bhp! Genuinely impressive.
All about traction. If the Agera were AWD, it would probably go thru the 1/4 at around 180 mph or more. The 911 is truly a sprinter, whereas the Koenigsegg is a tad slow on the start, but is a Marathon monster.
Mate, the issue is all about traction. An AWD Koenigsegg will be in SF90 and Nevera territory.
10 year old RWD Koenigsegg, in two years when the Gemera deliveries start we can see how an AWD Koenigsegg performs...

It’s amazing just how much the 911 Turbo S punches above its weight in terms of beating cars that have twice the power and have a much higher top speed than it does to the 1/4 mile. Porsche really did make something special.
If the guy driving the TT isn't a red flag to not use that tuner, then you deserve what you get from them.

My mk7 golf R has less than half the power on (more or less) the same platform and has done its fastest quarter in 12.10 at 115mph. That TTRS has more in it, just needs a better driver

The powertrain in the 911 is perhaps the most “optimised” petrol powered car being built today. You can just tell that that powertrain is perfectly matched to its application.

I’ve seen a 1000hp awd 6th gen civic lx that weighed in at 2300lbs with the roll cage and driver the guy said he had 40k into it and was daily driving it at around 4-500hp but could turn up the boost for racing but usually broke stuff trying to launch it but would still do 9 seconds without even launching it, with the launch it’s a 7 second car

@@Riisktakerr and your point? It's well known the plaid launches better than even hypercars, but that's because it's an EV. The plaid has electric motors with instant torque to the wheels. Very different from an ICE which has to send that power through a transmission then to the wheels. Also the plaid has over 1000hp and the 911 has 650, but it manages to put the power down better than a lot of cars with more power. The Porsche is a better car in every way possible.

I’ve watched every single one of these drag races and STILL the 911 Turbo S just boggles the mind. The way it launches and puts down power, even compared to cars 10-20x more expensive, is simply unbelievable. Dream car right there.
And you can daily drive it unlike a 296GTB or 765LT which are comparable in speed without having to worry about it breaking down like the others.
In the combustion engine world, the 911 is king. You can launch it again and again and again and it still beats basically anything thats not a hypercar (and even most ICE hypercars). You have to admire the Porsche engineering.
These videos are the best ads the Porsche marketing department could ask for.

Koenigsegg and hyper cars like that they are more built for top speed and just keeps going. It's not a drag race car IMO. You can see how quickly it eats up the lead of the Porsche. A half mile and it would be gone in comparison.
