New RS4 Comp v M3 v AMG C63: Estate DRAG RACE

We’ve got our hands on the all-new Audi RS4 Competition, and it’s going head-to-head against its key rivals - the BMW M3 Touring, and the Mercedes-AMG C63 Estate!
Okay, it might be the old C63 Estate, but while we don’t have the latest gen in the UK yet, this is the best we could do!
So let’s see how the three compare. Starting with the Audi, it’s powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbo V7 that can produce 450hp and 600Nm of torque. This power output may be the same as the old car, but it comes with a retuned gearbox that should help it both shift quicker and improve its launch! Power is sent to all four wheels via the gearbox, and it weighs in at 1,745kg. It also rolls up with a price tag of around £85,000.
Alongside it we have the BMW. It’s packing a 3-litre twin-turbo straight-six under the bonnet which is good for 510hp and 650Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and it tips the scales at 1,865kg. It’s a bit more pricey than the Audi, costing around £87,000.
Then finally we have the AMG. It’s housing a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet that can produce 510hp and 700Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels only, and it weighs in at 1,800kg. When new it costs around £78,000, but given it’s the old gen, you can’t even buy one anymore!
So will it be a clean sweep for the more powerful BMW? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

Such a fun drag race episode. The cars are interesting ones, but the banter was epic. Rory played Matt and then Sam’s various gloating techniques were absolutely hilarious. 😂
The AMG may not have launched the greatest bc of RWD, but the AMG roar and rolling race power got me in love

Can you next do a drag race of all the entry level, standard equivalents of these cars? Would be interesting to see even if it was a bit of a slower race.
There's no non-comp version of the M3 in the UK so doubt they would.

I'm a BMW guy, but that M3 really depends on that 4WD system. Boy, that C63 has some legs for sure. Overall, banger of a race.

It was obvious that the AMG could not compete with the AWD cars from a standstill. But the way it performed in the rolling races was just impressive. That’s a car that’s approaching 8 years of age. What a car.
I'll be honest. Merc can just plonk that old M177 into the new W206 chassis, called it a day, and it would still be able to give M3 Competition a bloody nose, AND kept AMG fans happy.
But no, they just have to prove that the AMG ONE hybrid system can be used in a 'normal' car.
@@AntoniusTyas Let’s see what the future holds. Mercedes is preparing the M177 for EURO7 emission standards so it will stick around for quite some time. Maybe we will be surprised with the return of the V8 may it only be in the E-Class or CLE. I’m hearing rumors but nothing with substance yet. Greets from Brabus HQ!

Ofc it will win against an awd car in a rolling race. Power loss is bigger. If you compare the amg with the rwd M3, the BMW will be faster. Still a great car the amg.

I enjoyed this more than most Carwow videos. It wasn’t telegraphed (Mat driving the fastest car…nearly all the time). And all 3 of you guys genuinely enjoy each other’s company, and being very competitive with each other too!

@@Gabe_B-1 C63 has more torque, less drivetrain losses and weighs less than the BMW. The RWD only M3/4 probably beats it, but not the X drive.

the m3 estate is an absolute BEAST but holy shit man that c63 v8 just cant be beaten here. Absolutely PHENOMENAL engine. Had a buddy that had a c63s sedan that i had the pleasure of driving quite alot and man that thing was MAD.
The sound from that engine is what AMG should be about. Last great c63 we'll ever see.
there is no replacement for displacement. rolling race is where the 6liter amg engine starts to live. both the audi & the bmw have way more down torque and less top end. but the m3 is by far the most beautifull

@@spookyreaper1702 audi used to be thr bonkers ones with power, the v10tt rs6 then the v8 performance after that were way ahead in power than their rivals, then inexplicably they gave the current Gen one the same power while the others streaked ahead. It's almost like they can't be bothered anymore.
That RS4 Comp is a beautiful car, seriously would not mind owning one. Big respect for the C63 too.

I have an AMG C63 as my daily driver and its supremely refined and comfortable and is a very practical car. Now at 60k miles and been totally reliable. I have driven the Audi RS and just found it less comfortable. Great video, good to see the W205 still delivers.

@@hassyg4083 no more sensors than any other modern car. I've been driving for over 40 years and a lot of different cars, and reliability is largely a factor of proper maintenance.

The design proportions on this Audi RS4 is jaw dropping. It's somehow makes the car look super fast and understated at the same time.
Audi sport estates are beautiful indeed. RS4 and RS6 will always be my favourite sports car
That’s been the beauty of the RS4 for time. The new 6 is horrible because it tried way too hard in the styling department and looks like a Halfords special.
As a C7 RS6 owner that has test driven several B9 RS4’s as well, these two models are bang on.
The G8x M cars are utterly eye bleeding to behold, give me an E92 or W204 all day long.
