  • Culture is beautiful because of its diversity. However, overlapping cultures can create problems. Despite differences in culture, there are fundamental questions about life that remain the same. The book "The Two Wonderers" explores this concept.
While blending cultures can lead to resistance, we will not discuss cultural subversion here. Rather, what challenges can development bring forth to the native culture? Depending on the scale, it can be huge. Native cultures are closely tied to their environment and have a deep understanding of it. Therefore, while development is necessary, it's important to consider the significance of local culture and dialogues with people. With its gripping narrative, this book "Swordplay" has the power to spark invigorating discussions on culture and development, and offers a thrilling plot twist that begs to be explored further.

If 1/10th of the efforts were spent talking to the local people on what they want, they could have foreseen the negative impact of dams like Tehri.

Can Bengalis not get a real job rather than only talk and opine? No wonder Bengal has been left behind by the rest of India and Calcutta has fallen from its glorious past.
