India's economic growth has surpassed all expectations and remains the world's fastest growing major economy, as per the latest GDP data. India's GDP grew at an impressive 8.2%, exceeding projections by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and India's central bank, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). This news comes as a major boost for the incumbent government, with the final phase of voting underway. India's fiscal deficit was also lower than the government's target. It can if you have a very large population.
If employment means government job for the unemployable, then that kind of employment cannot be provided by any government in the world. There is no country like that. Enployment means work (mostly in private sector) not sarkaari naukri.

But, since it's a 1.4 B people and still growing, the GDP/capita will not reach the western nation level in the foreseeable future. However, considering the ultra low cost of living in India, the GDP-PPP/Capita is not that bad and it will be equivalent to western nation in next two decades, which is what matters in the real life.

Keen to know about the per capita status as well, with GDP I am happy coz my share prices are gonna go up, I am able to purchase more assets, decrease my liability, go for more holidays etc but my house help and gig worker around me doing delivery and other adhoc jobs don't give a damn coz they dont invest in stock market and unfortunately they represent 95% of India and this gap between folks who have and have not are still widening.
