My mom was insane with how I looked. I’m 38 years old, she is deceased, and her words come into my mind every day.
Every morning when I put on lipstick and perfume, I automatically think of her telling me I looked like a, “cheap whore and smelled like a French hooker.” And her daily reminder I was ALWAYS going to be, “eh, just AVERAGE.” 😑
I can relate to the majority of these. It's amazing to hear all this while I'm in my early 50's and my mother passed away last week. So many mixed emotions.

When I got married, my mother came over to my house to get ready with like 8 different dresses for herself to choose from. She made a big deal about which one she should wear, it was all about her. She kept trying to choose this cream colored dress and my friends and I were like, "you're not supposed to wear a similar color to the bride". It was SO WEIRD. When we drove the 15 minutes to the venue together, she didn't speak a word. What was the most heartbreaking moment of that day was when they said, "everyone rise for the bride" and my mother was the only person that didn't stand up.
