  • These days in 2021, Kevin Durant is chilling out on the Brooklyn Nets with his buddies Kyrie Irving and James Harden, and also Blake Griffin, LaMarcus Aldrige and Patty Mills (Kevin Durant really loves superteams), and it can be easy to forget about how that one time on July 7 2016, KD disrespected every person in history to ever pick up a basketball and snaked the Oklahoma City Thunder to sign with the Golden State Warriors. Goodbye Russell Westbrook, hello Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala, Zaza Pachulia, JAVALE MCGEE and a free couple NBA championship rings. Kevin Durant is a snake, a pathetic slithery slimy, anorexic snake that took the easy road to a championship. He choked to the Warriors in the 2016 Western Conference Finals when he helped OKC blow a 3-1 lead, and two months later becomes a Golden State Warrior himself. Kevin Durant is a snake, and will always be a snake. Here's the conclusive Part 3 to the renowned trilogy on why KD is a snake.

      My KD videos were actually the first vids I made on this channel so I was bit less experienced in choosing the right background music , and also getting the audio levels right at the time I made them.
      I did recognise that the music audio level and choice wasn't great not long after I uploaded them. f you watch any of my other stuff after KD part 3, the background music is very different and also much quieter.
      So I fully agree with everything you said. I do regret fucking up the audio when I spent so much time on the rest of the video, but it wasn't a major enough issue for me to think a reupload was worth it so I just lived with it.

    • @RedThunder
      @RedThunder  Před 3 lety +2

      He could've gone to LA, San Antonio, Boston, Miami- all teams that had more of a system in place but wouldn't be cop outs like going to the 73-9 Warriors was. Plus, one of the reasons he ended up leaving Golden State was because he wanted to play more ISO ball lmao, so he didn't even ever truly commit to team basketball. Also he stood to make more money in OKC than all other destinations, I wouldn't turn that down.

      Red Thunder
      You make a good point about the money, but KD is a superstar so he’s getting shoe deal and other money. LA= Lebron is his rival and he wants to be better then him so no. Miami is my team, but we had no pieces as good as Klay, Steph, and Draymond. Neither did SA, or Boston.
      I understand your points they are valid but Basketball wise it was his best opinion.
      He left the Warriors Because they disrespected him, Draymond and the GM were talking shit.

    • @RedThunder
      @RedThunder  Před 3 lety +1

      @@chicagom9309 I mean it obviously makes sense from a purely basketball point of view, but that just ignores all the context around the move that makes it so bad. You could easily just apply that principle to all superstar players teaming up on one team because it would make all their jobs easier from a basketball point of view. LeBron could've joined the Warriors instead of the Lakers in 2018. From a basketball point of view he would've had an exponentially better chance of winning with the Warriors than the Lakers. because he'll have way more help. However, in the wide picture it would've obliterated his legacy.
      And the reason KD and Draymond were bitching with one another was because KD wanted to play more iso at the end of games, while Draymond wanted more team basketball like the Warriors had always played- especially pre-KD.

      Red Thunder like your videos 😁but KD put okc on the map & they did not do everything to keep him happy or surrounded him with necessary pieces, just young athletes & hired a college coach in 2015 & clearly was moving in a different direction then he wanted. As you can see they haven’t been out of the 1st round & underachieve in 2018 & 2019, never with KD so okc should just honor that they had one of the greatest players ever to play for them...& clay bennet is a loser 😁

    • @RedThunder
      @RedThunder  Před 3 lety +2

      @@user-js7mo3wy4z I agree it might've been a slight stretch to say they "did everything right", but OKC is still a great organisation with one of the best GMs in the League. And although Billy Donovan had his moments of piss poor coaching (I am still extremely salty with how Game 7 against the Rockets ended this year), he's proven to be able to make successful adjustments in the playoffs, which is something only good coaches can claim to do. When he chose to start playing Steven Adams and Enes Kanter together in 2016 vs the Spurs, that was enormously helpful in getting us the victory and to the Conference Finals.
      But honestly, had he left and gone anywhere but Golden State, even though OKC fans would still be salty, it wouldn't even be that bad, and none of these videos would've been made. It's the fact that he chose THAT team, which is why I and so many other fans can't get over that decision.

    73-9 means nothing without a championship.
    2015 championship apparently means nothing since Cleveland didnt have Kyrie and Love.
    2017 Cleveland broke records in the playoffs.
    2018 Rockets took the Warriors to 7 Games.
    2009 Lakers and Phil Jackson didn't dishonor their opponents by saying it was easy even though it only took 5 games to beat Orlando that year. They went out of their way to say how difficult that opponent was and how hard winning a championship is.
    2016 Warriors were supposed to "easily" win the championship that year. Two game 7s and no trophy.
    2017 and 2018 Warriors were supposed to easily win as well. They actually succeeded in winning. So lets discredit the entire league and say it was easy for them. Ignore David West saying how difficult that 2018 championship in particular was. They faced no worthy opponents and these championships dont count.
    Only thing I call out KD for is joining the team that beat him. Warriors coudlve won 48 games and been an 8th seed and beat him and I'd fault him for joining. But everyone is hung up on the 73 wins like that translated into anything except embarassment for that franchise.
    The most amazing part of all of this is everyone's interpretation of what Kevin Durant should have done. "You better do what we want or we will judge you."
    Super Bowl weekend 2016. Warriors vs Thunder happened there. Not the classic one, but one arguably more important. That game and that weekend judging by KDs reaction can tell a story in itself.
    To close. A snake? Ehh I dont disagree, but in the NBA a snake is literally iconic because of the Black Mamba. The media should've just ran with Cupcake, thats much worst.
