Very clean compared to how your usual Guardsman/Space Marine/Xeno Scum gets killed in that era.
He could have chop his brother's head off and be done with it but DoomSlayer'd him instead.
It was a fight between Primarchs who are , well they can't afford to try to make their deaths clean , they have to make their deaths happen at all with all their might .
Considering how tough a primarch is that probably is about as clean a death as you can give one and actually make sure it ya'know sticks?
But like... Ferrus mannus' death, he had one that was pretty clean and fast to be fair
One other piece of information that I find really helps humanize Dorn is his relationship with his Grandfather. After the man died, Dorn kept a fur cloak of his, and it was remarked that he would sleep with it on his bed every night. He may be asocial, but at least he knows about sentimental value.
Fairly new to the hobby, but pouring through lore stuffs, I think corvus and khan are some of the most human primarchs.
Corvus almost cried when emps told him he had brothers, and khan is honestly just a well balanced dude when interacting with anyone.

So as for Canon records in regards to Dorms death, we have three main source points from which to draw from as to his fate:
1. The direct retcon of his death. Originally the fists had been able to recover his whole body, incasing it in amber aboard the phalanx. However, this has been retconned rather long ago, the most recent source being the 8th edition imperial fists supplement book which explicitly states his disappereance.
2. Unusual actions on regards to chaos with the death of a primarch. With both Ferrus and the body of Horus, their corpses were ripped apart and taken as trophies, many champions bragging of having such trophies or being their at their slaying. Such occurances has not happened with Dorn, nor has the despoiler class flagship, the sword of sacrilige, nor its crew have been seen since his disappearance.
3. The gearing up for the return of primarchs. Dorn has been one of the primarchs that has subtly been hinted at returning through recent lore regarding the fists, such as the repairing of the Phalanx and the jokes made by the same fists chapter when inspecting their renewed fortress monastary. With his death also retconned explicitly, we can assume GW has some level of plan with him, considering he is one of the primarchs in a less than average shit situation.

Honestly Russ, Magnus, and Dorn have amazing VAs for TTS. Like it would be weird to hear different voices in official work. Corvus and Vulcan are cool, but i can imagine more fitting voices.

Seems like I finally found my favorite Space Marine Legion/Chapter, I barely finished watching 40k theories video of the Imperial Fist and suddenly MayorKill upload a Imperial Fist video and both videos with TTS voice actors on top of that... It's definitely a sign from the God Emperor himself.

Actually I would have loved to hear Adorable's reaction to the return of his brother, the secret millions of space marines he had cawl make and hide around the empire, becoming regent of the empire, and basically getting a legion of his own, about 100 times later than the old legions.
