Nice one again. Just goes to show: one doesnt need glitz glamour and name brands to have a good time. Simple things in life add value. Attachements are baggage and life is enjoyable when your free like a butterfly. Most things we think we need or should value are told to us by society/advertising/previous generations. thanks i always look forward to your videos even tho i am far from retirement.
I agree
A simple life with good food and interesting travel works :-)
Love the 30-day cost of living videos.., soooo useful :). The only important thing I would add is a 2-minute summary, with numbers on the screen, detailing the individual costs (accommodation, food in, food out, transport, and others eg data) plus the total for 30 days. Cheers :)
Thank you !
They are getting good feedback for sure
The suggestions are important as well !

Very kind of you thank you
I love your channel and say this with much respect and friendly teasing, but I find it hilarious that the three meals you show us from a month in THAILAND are Indian, the Sizzler Steak buffet, and kebabs and falafel. Cheers! 🤣🥰
Oh yes true
I do enjoy the local foods though haha

You miss the little adorable kitty 🐱 when you was hanging your clothes . 🐱🐱🥰🥰
Was it watching me ? Very nice
We are very grateful for the breakdown 🙏
You are most welcome
Have a great day
I had a $13 pad Thai here in Athens that wasn’t better than most $2 pad Thais in Thailand. If you’re still in Bangkok, I highly suggest you go to pad Thai Narok tek. The owner Alex is a pad Thai master and in my opinion makes the best pad Thai I have ever had. $3-4. It would make a great video showcasing his cooking abilities. He has a hole in the wall sit down seating for about 20 people and he cooks out on the sidewalk. All he makes is pad Thai. His restaurant is on Lat ya rd. I usually take a motorcycle grab. He is only open from around 4 pm until he sells out.
@@jameshall2299 that place sounds interesting!
Great video yet again!! I just can’t believe how much everything costs because I’m so stuck in the American mindset of “oh Kebabs, $18. Laundry service, $10. Shorts repair, $10.” Etc. and in reality, it’s just not that and I’ve experienced Thailand before and love it! But my American mind goes right to the highest price while guessing and that’s why I moved out of the States to another country and I won’t go back 👏🏾. $1.50 for shorts repair too, that’s absurd! So good! Love these breakdown vids! And the bloopers are always so funny to toss in when we can👏🏾👏🏾😂😂
The prices are really good overseas
Try Thailand for 30 days
It will be a trip !
I still keep an apartment in Manhattan NYC and I hate to give it up but stupid wasteful. Coming down to crunch decision time.

That detailed description of how to do laundry might have just opened up the world to me. I'd been wondering about this for a long time because I would prefer to travel with as little as possible, and the laundry question puzzled me.
You are good to go

@@RetireandGomy mouth was agape and my eyes were wide when you broke that down. Very eureka moment.
Thailand is officially my top choice for countries. I’m currently in Greece and I’ll be heading to turkey and Albania for 3 months, but nothing beats Thailand. So far!
Oh my I want to travel to Greece
@@RetireandGo I think Greece would agree with you! Probably a $2500/month budget country.
I'm in Greece for the summer!!! Weekends in Skopje, Tirana, Sofia, etc and looking forward to wintering in SEA!!! So fortunate to have USD as income but really so displeased with what's happening in the States... not in any hurry to return.
@@ItsGonnaGetBumpy yes, America is not what it once was. I met a guy on a cruise that spent some time in sarande Albania and the pictures he took were amazing! Can’t wait for Albania!
FYI, we have an Airbnb rental in north central Washington state that we rent out while we are traveling. It’s outside a small town and sits on the Methow river. If you’re looking for a break from Seattle, it might be a nice break?
@@jameshall2299 thanks for the heads up. Next time I'll be in WA state it'll be at beginning or end of a Trans-Pacific cruise. But I've written it down in my notes. Thanks.
Love the 30 day expenses videos. I was laughing with the laundry because I asked that question. That’s a great idea with the laundry 🧺 I think I’ll do that myself. Saving every little bit helps. Have a great day 🤗

You often stay in hotels and eat in the same restaurants that I have been to in the last 25 years. It’s like seeing my own life when I was younger. I lived the life your living on and off most of my life. Nothing beats the experience of travel. Now I’am 71 taking it at a slower pace. Pattaya is a perfect base to continue shorter trips!

Bangkok is such a beautiful city. I was there two years ago for a week. My next visit will be for a month. I just had Indian food for dinner last night, but for some reason, your meal in the video looked so much better. Can't wait for your next destination.
I do like a good curry
I like finding low cost little family spots
That was great! Food looks so good! Wish phillipines had that quality
What area in the Philippines are you traveling to ?
In Angeles city check out 69 Rock Bar
A Hawaii resident moved there and opened it
Rooftop sports bar with incredible food
@RetireandGo hey mate, living in dumaguete travelling once a month to different islands, just got back from siargao it was awsome! Flying to Thailand next month.. definitely have Angeles on the list to go visit!
Excellent information and really great presentation! Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you
I appreciate this :-)
Great Info as always. Crazy now I have read that the average car payment in the states is $860 a month not including Insc. My last car payment was in 2004. I just started buy used cars 5 years old and paying cash, helped me save a good amount over the last 20 years. Safe Travels
People pay so much for cars !
It’s outrageous
No more !
You are smart with the used cars
For clothing I’d look into trying merino wool shirts. They don’t smell and u can wear them for days even sweating everyday. A bit more expensive but in a bind and multiple day wear without having to wash is an idea for ya. Unbound merino is a good brand but I’m sure in BKK u can find cheaper brands with 100per merino wool
Merino wool sounds very comfortable for sure !
Thanks for the info
You are most welcome :-)
Great vibe and informative
Thank you so much
Have a good week
Speaking of expenses in the West, well you're goona love this one R&G. My Car insurance just went up a whopping $440 a year. Thats 30% more this year than last year and i have no claims and no tickets. One car is 15 years old, the other 18 years old and both paid for. Not to mention new Roof on my House just cost me $20,000 USD. It doesnt end there either but ill spare you the other gory details. Living in the West just isnt worth it and you really have the right idea. Thx for keeping things sensible and showing us there are better options out there.
Oh my … these prices are just going up
The roof is needed for insurance now right? Nothing over 20 years allowed or something
Ugh …
Too pricey
I feel for you on those man , I understand
Love your channel. Thank you.
Thank you very kind

Great work!!!
Thank you so much
Much appreciated
Many retirees, globetrotters, digital nomads, and CZcamsrs often highlight the affordability of living in South America or Southeast Asia. While I agree with this sentiment, there's a significant aspect rarely discussed: the actual costs involved in traveling to these destinations. Flight tickets can be quite expensive. Drawing on my 25 years of experience organizing travel in Asia, I can attest to this firsthand. Based on your videos from the past year, you could have visited 17 different countries and revisited some countries up to 7 times within the last year. Could you provide an overview of what portion of your annual budget is allocated to flight tickets? I recall from your previous videos that you aim to manage within a $24,000 annual budget ($2,000 per month). Does this budget include your flight expenses, or are these costs kept separate? I look forward to your insights on this topic in one of your upcoming videos. Happy Travels! 🙏🙏
Thank you for this
Yes it absolutely includes flights
Round trip from Bangkok to Bali and back was $68
Bangkok to Malaysia and back with a three weeks hotel stay … $180
Southeast Asia is low cost
Flight between countries are crazy cheap
Christopher, another great episode! When you have an opportunity to do so, can you please feature what your strategy is when arriving in a new country and then having to produce an onward ticket requirement for the next country when you don’t have a set itinerary? Much appreciated. Mahalo!
Oh yes ok I’ll cover this thank you so much
I appreciate suggestions

Aloha fellow Kama'aina. What my wife and I are doing is when we book a hotel, we usually opt for the breakfast included. Usually only $2-5 more. Then eat a nice dinner later in the evening. Gotten used to eat only twice a day. Keep up the good work. Bye the way, been in Phenom Pehn for the past 10 days. Unless you in into late-night partying, you should give it a pass. Very pedestrian unfriendly Probably the worst in all of S.E. Asia. Off to Kuching Maylasia next week.

@@kevinstrong7520 I understand where you're coming from. I also appreciate his content/philosophy, but have no intention of testing how little I can spend. I think he's just showing what's possible, not that everyone should do it his way. Spending more is way easier than spending less.
@@RetireandGoNothing wrong with that, it’s liberating traveling out of a small backpack 🎒. Nothing wrong with hand scrubbing your clothes every now and then too, good for the soul 😄. Dude it’s cool seeing how you and also your channel have grown in just the short time I’ve watched your channel. I’m back in usa saving up to get back out to Se Asia and love watching your vids. Kevin, your “Bro” comment…. you don’t know him well enough to criticize his content.
Nowadays, on social media, everyone can hide behind their keyboard. I think you should reconsider your comment!! You did not say how excellent all the information was in this video. You only criticize his washing….
Thanks for info about hotels in Bangkok! I always stay on the soi 4 area then eat at the Bus Stop bar and grill. Your brilliant about saving money I did the 25 baht laundry packets a couple times works great! Thank you for the great videos😊😊

Thank you for the practical tips. Now I know how to do laundry and use my clothes longer rather than throwing them away. Taking clothes to be repaired by a seamstress if definitely not an American habit but should be.
Yes the seamstress I use will repair backpacks as well
Excellent information! I'm looking forward to see you review Eastern European countries.
Oh yes that will be interesting!
How can i find a seamstress? And where's the store you get your screen redone? Do they do Apple phones as well or just Android?
Check the seamstress out in front of the suttus court hotel
Screens in Bangkok but there are low cost shops in Pattaya as well
I think I mentioned the shop name in the video
I think in Florida and other parts of the Hurricane prone South you do need a new roof every 10-12 years to keep your insurance. Here in AZ I don’t believe it’s required. My house is 27 years old and still had the original roof. I wish I could have Sold before the new roof was necessary but I just wasn’t at the place in life to move. I’m still working, but only for a few more years. These next few years prior to retirement I will keep visiting Thailand etc since the job is very flexible. I’m planning on 6 weeks in SEAsia towards the end of this year
Oh my every 12 years
Goodness… that’s like $20,000
I can’t afford these things any more
Florida is nice though :-)
