Living in the Pattaya area has given me purpose, most of my spare time is keeping fit and healthy, many opportunities to socialise playing sports, group hiking etc. I keep away from bars and alcohol too. I don’t miss it or enjoy anymore! I visit my adult kids and grandchildren at least once a year, it’s very important to me too!
I enjoyed reading this
Very good sir !
Good for you Roy. I'll be making the move late next year and glad to hear others can live Healthy at the same time as being there. kuddos.
hey Roy, how can I get involved with hiking groups?
That’s exactly what happened to me. There’s 95% less distraction because there’s no politics, less pro sports, you’re disconnected from western media.
There’s also no casinos (yet) so you are forced to focus on gym, food, massage, women, exploration, museums, Buddhist things, water sports.
It’s an amazing new life.
Very well put, have 2yrs to go and plan on doing the same thing, Thailand and Vietnam are my places to see and go to see where I would like to Stay for quite a while.
Agree. Yes, set goals. My wife and I set up a foundation in her hometown in Laos to help the elementary school kids. That alone will keep us plenty busy.
Oh this is nice !
Very cool, great job👍🏽
Great stuff! My answer is to the “what do you do?” question is: Whatever I want. If I feel like going for a hike, I go for a hike. If I feel like going and watching a movie, I go watch a movie. If I feel like making a CZcams video, I make a YT vid. If I feel like doing nothing, I do nothing. I do whatever I want and that’s my purpose as selfish as it sounds!
Absolutely
That is freedom
The control of your time
:-)
@@certifiedfinest5065 oh my no

Hi Mr. Aloha, you’re setting a fine example for Men / fathers. Fatherly guidance and continuous contact/ conversations as well as living a life of service and LOVE and personal health. You’re raising the bar for most for personal growth. Aloha !
Thank you for this
Very kind :-)
Your channel could be called called "Retire and Grow".🏵
Nice one !
I am really enjoying the positivity of your videos lately. Keep it up!
Thank you
Absolutely :-)
Thank you for keeping serving others . You are serving US helping us to see that is a beautiful life to live . We all can do what you are doing . Thank you for being our inspiration..! 😇🌎🇵🇦😎
Hola! Y Panama es bueno para jubilarse?
You are absolutely welcome
Thank you :-)
@@stevensantiago746 absolutely 💯 👍.!
Thank you for your service, we love you Chris ❤. You must realize how much your work now presently creates a enormous impact on your viewers, in the spirit of interconnectedness, I am praying that in the future I will see a series specifically about botthisava. Your purpose and presence is absolutely stunning, the light coming from you. You are looking better and better literally every time you release content. When the student is ready the teacher appears , . Vice versa-. The navy shirt long sleeve top notch color, blue 💙 . The joy of your travels , teaching us the way is always exciting ,keep up the great work
Very kind of you thank you :-)
Yes, I will have to plan a more in depth discussion on the mission of Bodhisattva and how it relates to this channel
Great to see you thriving in Thailand 👍
Hello CC!
Yes it has been a good year and I’m learning a lot as well
Did you see the new one year digital nomad visa in Indonesia?
Hi been watching you channel for a while..you are doing a monologue all the time..would love to see you having a conversation with a fellow retiree or local once in a while🥰
Interesting idea for sure
Thank you
Love your channel!
Thank you
Very kind of you :-)
Great content and much appreciated. Perhaps a future video on your thoughts on where to spend the final years and when mobility becomes difficult etc… say in 20 years?
Good subject for sure!
Will we have robot assistance then?
Maybe !
Yes, keep the mind busy. Play chess, do lots of math calculations, keep the brain cells active. Conversations with neighbors, family and friends. Anything to stimulate the thought process.
I agree
For good health
Mind and body
Thanks for another great episode.
You are most welcome :-)
As usual excellen
t content and uplifting ❤
Very nice!
I’m wishing you a great week
I appreciate your service centered philosophy. When I lived in HNL, I studied Buddhism with Vipassana Hawaii, and the Plum Village monthly sitting group. It really enriched my life. It’s true about being a parent. I still mentor one of my sons who is in his early thirties. I feel very happy that we have a mutually respectful and loving relationship.
Nice shirts!
Very nice
That must have been a good group to meet with
Thank you, very light for this heat haha
Okay.I truly love your videos. They are great. Motivating and fun to watch. I only have one request. Will you please put a small plastic ziplock bag in your pocket. When you eat lunch or dinner put some meat in that bag. Feed the hungry dogs and cats that you show in your video. It is heartbreaking when you pet a hungry dog and don't give him a a little to eat. Thank you.
I understand :-)
Have a great day
Thailand rules!😊
True !
Great video and wise words. Thank you.🪻

Having purpose in retirement is needed, Thanks for sharing.
I agree
It’s important
Enjoy your retirement. Happy Father's day!
Very kind of you thank you
Another great video. Lots to think about. So glad I came across your channel. It's so positive and inspirational. Loved your Kuala Lumpur videos (one of my favorite cities) and looking forward to seeing the other places you go to in SE Asia. It's my favorite region of the world. Cheers!
I agree KL is a favorite
I could live there for sure
Your great keep innovating 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

@@RetireandGoYou’re most welcome! Stay blessed.😊
You have a great understanding of human psychology.😇
Very kind of you
I hope these thoughts help :-)
The number one meaning must be staying healthy and in shape.
Don't let your self go.
Keep your mind busy. And your uhm, joystick too. 😁
Haha truth
Stay healthy
Take vices in moderation
I say I work to live, but some people live to work. I have a co-worker who retired two years ago. She wanted to travel with her husband after retirement. Her husband passed away six months after retirement, and she ended up coming back to work shortly thereafter. She didn't know what is her purpose in life - besides work. What a well thought out vlog. Mahalo.
Goodness, yes I understand
This is why we have to enjoy the life we have
It’s a blessing
Great and centred way of being. I will try Pattaya for a few months at the end of th e year
Oh that is great
Keep us updated
Another great video and message. Your talk of the Bodhisattva and wanting to help people and be of service really resonates with the message of my own "personal guru" Tom Campbell. I can tell that you are a wonderful father to your children, such a blessing and gift you have given then. Cheers.
Very kind
I’m humbled
Thank you
Not too many guys find purpose there. Most lose all direction and some lose their oruentation....
Only the weak lose their way. If you fail at home, you will fail here too. Moving to Thailand or any other country can not and will not fix you.
some lose all their money and some lose their mind too - definitely a tricky place. staying off alcohol is a definite must there.
IMO alcohol is a catalyst in what you described. I think a relatively unbroken person will experience the opposite. If anything might impede a healthy person like myself it might be options paralysis. So having a game plan before launch (for any retiree) is recommended!
@@Explorer766 anyway, if I was from USA I'd leave too. But not to Pattaya or Angeles.
@@peterm13 Hua Hin looks like nice base to me.
Always a parent, that's true, my kids are in there high 20's and I'm learning form them, they both are doing so well, so proud of them. Love your work brother, yeah what do you do when it's all about you, a life of service is hard to give up, self, is a 180 from service, hard to do. I would love to hear more about your spiritual thoughts, all the best, PEACE!!!
Thank you
Blessings for you and your family
Thank you for your service. Also I'm sorry what happened in Hawaii fires.
Oh yes what a horrible situation that was
You got it right going into retirement is a huge purpose of life! Thanks for explaining that so much. Pattaya seems nice never been there 110 degrees in Tucson today😅
Oh my that is hot! 110 !
To Serve Man
Yes true
Remember to serve yourself too :-)
Be kind to yourself
My purpose now is my health. I don't really socialise much. My friend is the gym.
I understand
I need to focus more on that as well
Good man
Thank you
Have a good day :-)
As a single Dad of a young adult, it's good to hear how you interact with your kids.
I only have 1 and you have 3.
Thanks.
You are doing you best and I praise you sir
Congrats on retirement sir!
Just got an overseas job in Qatar with one of the companies you mentioned in past videos. Thanks a lot and trying to retire early as well 😎🤞🏽💰
Oh this is wonderful to read!
Enjoy your work
Invest invest invest ok?
No buying pickup trucks ! Haha
Invest that income and work overseas for many years
@@RetireandGo will do!! Enjoy your weekend 😎
Haha I asked this question! Materialism is hard to kill off!! And investing in a foreign country's real estate is a beast! But I'm up for the challenge!
You are going to be very successful! You are motivated!
So much good advice . Hua Hin 2025 counting down the days!
Phonhong, Laos. October 2024. Hopefully moving full time in a couple years. Building a home there. Can not wait.
Yes exciting! Keep us updated
Saw you strolling around Chiang Mai 2 days ago
Oh! Nice
Yes Chiang Mai is wonderful
You live there or vacation?
Very good video, life isn't easy, everyone's circumstances are different, trying your very best for your family is for life yes, but there does come a time when you've got to think of you! I can relate to everything you have said in this video, in similar situation, not a nomad though, have a base in Asia, yes big big change, i feel you could be a very good counselor 🙂
Very kind thank you
Yes, the focus now is to enjoy some me time
Yes i agree !!
When you have kids your instincs kicks in and your toil starts...i had 3 ,2 still home one college the other high school next yr ....i made him a fidelity junior acct and hes on the way to healthy investing
Oh my this is great! Teaching early to invest
I love it
Your insights are great. I feel like your just like me but a bit more handsome and smarter lol
Very kind of you
:-)
Have a good week
It's so freaking hot (😅) I'm amazed at your preference for collared long sleeve shirts. Is there a functional reason? Also doesn't linen wrinkle insanely or is that just when a dryer is used? Sink wash and hang dry is wrinkle free for linen?
Sun damage. Although he should be completely covered.
That is what I do. History of skin Cancer. Scary to see tourists especially Russians red as a beet. K2 and Vitamin D are my go to every day. No need for sun. Yeah a little more uncomfortable but better than the alternative.
In the intense heat of cartagena colombia I wear light cotton shirts with long sleeves. Take a look around at the wrinkled arms and bodies of those who don’t cover up and you’ll understand why. Not to mention all the cancer spots I see on other people’s arms.
It’s so light
And comfortable in humidity
Light linen
:-)
I broke the news that I was going to retire in Thailand to my kids and they were fine about it. I was quite surprised. 🤔
Very nice !
They will enjoy visiting you
Hey R&G … yes I agree that having a good quality pair of shoes in Thailand is a must. Whenever I’m there I do a lot of walking and I couldn’t do that if I didn’t have quality shoes. Plus if the mad dawgs/cats attack you can run away faster lol
True true ! Haha
I like having my toes protected
I tried open toe hiking sandals but I kept jamming my toes on things
My hiking shoes now are really light and protective
Thoughts ?
Yes R&G I have seen those open toe hiking sandals but never tried them. If you don’t stub your toe on the Trail then you will stub your toe getting to the trail. lol, accident waiting to happen. I have a great pair of New Balance hiking shoes that are super light, protective and comfortable.
Oh my New Balance Hiking Shoes are model 642 Abzorbs if you care to look them up.
I’m not retired but I’ve been following your videos and have great respect for the insightful and meaningful content you produce. My dismay with my home city as well as the changing values in my home country has led me to put in motion relocating to SE Asia this year. Some CZcamsrs for a 30 min or hourly rate offer one on one consulting advice over Zoom for their viewers looking to relocate to SE Asia. Do you offer that?
Very kind of you
Only making videos right now
Where are you looking into ?
Hi, I am Thai born in USA. I work in law enforcement and will retire in Thailand in 5 years, A place I've always wanted to live my whole life. My parents told me when I was young that "we didn't work hard to immigrate to USA just so you can take your ass back".
I understand haha
They don’t understand the costs
They can’t pay your bills in the US
As a man you
Must do what’s right not what’s popular
@@certifiedfinest5065 that isn’t cheap anywhere haha
11:15 It's not good to filming when walking down the stairs. Many fell and injured badly. Please take care.
Truth !
I wish you were my dad
Big hug for you !
Steely Dan..
Haha yes :-)
I wish I could find a purpose. I have no family of any kind. After 50 years in the computer industry, and more than that constantly studying and learning, I'm done with with deep dives. What few friends I have I'm luck to see even once a month. Due to social changes, I have lost every single social circle. I don't know how to find any sort of purpose so every day I think about calling it quits.
Your health should be your purpose. Nothing else matters if your health is not good. Then you can find other things. 🙂
I understand and I wish you a new friend this year
Try to get out and socialize this year
:-)
Look like the heat is killing you stay indoors
It’s hot for sure !
When you've worked hard in your life and stop, then get asked that daft question - what do you do all day? 🤔 Like you should be guilty.
Are the North Face & Under Armour items in the market genuine or copies?
True good point
We earned the right to chill haha
My purpose is going to be enjoying life with less stress and doing what I want to do for a change. Becoming more spiritual and healthier too. I already eat plant based and walk 7 miles a day but I plan on continuing that plus adding. Another great video. Question: living is Asia, are there any mandatory vaccines you have to get before entering? 🤗 have a great day
No vaccines anymore.
This was great to read
Living on a long visa , it’s possible you may need some vaccines
I’m traveling on shorter visas, there has been no problems thus far
@@RetireandGo thank you, your a great help. 🤗 and you are doing a great service with your channel.
So the Golden Question is how much in the Bank you need to retire? 500k-1Mil.+ Baht or $
That would depend when you decide to retire and what kind of life that you want to live. Some people can live with less then others. Obviously the more money that you have the better. Only you can answer your question.
In southeast Asia I would target $2000 a month passive income
The principle amount is not as important as hitting a passive monthly target :-)
Cool video-also we should take care of at least one parent before we move here! Tired of hearing how Thais care for their parents and we do not!
Interesting thoughts
With the cost of homes in the west combining families into compounds is one answer
That way we can also take care of our elderly at home
Are you on TRT, bro?
I’ll take this as a compliment!
Haha
I workout daily
I may start TRT if I return to the US later
I don’t know how to travel with it
Needles and stuff
Thoughts ?
@RetireandGo Well, there should be no issues travelling with your meds in the countries you visit. A lot of guys do.
You could also use a compounded cream if you prefer. Of course, only if your blood work clearly demonstrates that you need TRT.
@@gothops2632 I am getting better with medication and vitamin storage as I travel
Absolutely a go to if bloods show your hormones are low....it's pretty life changing for people suffering low moods, low energy, low libido, frain fog and ED. I work in this arena and I love seeing how so many people get back their youthful essence after starting hrt/trt
From a very young age all (most) of us learn that work= purpose in life.
If you don't agree..well good luck not being considered a weirdo.
I understand
Good point
