I still have to repeatedly tell CZcams not to recommend channels about The News/Politics/Police brutality/The looming economic crisis over the horizon/The wars/The countries that are our(enemies). The system tries to take our eyes off the ball and just go with the flow. But ever since the violonce of the plandemic times, I knew I couldn't live here forever. So I took a 3 month trip to Thailand at the beginning of the year and found that it is better for me. Now Im 43 and stacking retirement to get out in 10 years.

Just wanted to add - make sure you're not running away from anything, because peoples problems follow them. While changing the environment works, it's often not something adults can do. Many of us are middle aged and have family responsibilities. Kids, parents, etc.- can't just get up and leave them. I like the message, but it's just not practical for the majority of people. If you're in your 20s or early 30s, a change of scenery is a piece of cake. The real challenge is improving your quality of life in a place that isn't as ideal as Pattaya.

I need to disconnect from the negativity in the digital media. It's tough!! Instead of listening to the ranting on the radio this morning, I made a video of my own.. I guess people call them vlogs instead of journals these days. Nothing for public viewing.. It was for me to endure the HOUR drive to work. I talked to myself about what I was doing now, and what my options would be in a year when I turn 62 and my work contract is up. I get so bogged down with details that I cannot make a decision! I cancelled a month long trip last year to Mexico and Panama because of fear mongering from the media!! I gotta get away from that crap.

Can relate to some stuff, yes i worked since age 15, i thought the bowl of melon was expensive, & the accomodation at the end more suitable for the younger more able people, bit pricy too. Infact a lot of the food you buy on your channel i think not within most people's budget. Anyway thanks for sharing.

With the average male life expectancy being 75 theres no reason not to retire in your 50s. I feel for those people who wamt to work till there 70s to maximize there income when they probably wont even ever be able to spend that money. Good job man your living the dream

Great episode. I identify 100% I am financially planning the future and should be close. But having elderly parents to care for,I am chained back. But I try and stay focused and patient. Covid destroyed all my friendships and isolated my life. I hope to have a friend or 2 like you in the future,because I have done great things in life,but having a good wingman is what I need to reset that positive journey and charge back into life and shake off the depression and anxiety of solitary confinement
Covid did not destroy anything for my wife and I, we actually thrived during covid, we increased our networth by $400,000 during Covid, our friendships are now stronger, it all depends on how we handle things in front of us, in my opinion, my experience

That last shot, so many places I've seen have a beach that looks like that. It looks like Waikiki in the '70s. It seems like they all have a Diamond Head of their own.
On that last point of environment, I think perhaps for many of us our digital environment may be a bigger factor than our physical one. There's definitely a much more negative attitude exuded online than in person. I don't know how much of it is the individuals that are commenting vs those that don't and how much is perhaps that they behave differently in person than online. Either way though I've found the SM culture is often toxic and brutal with no purpose for behaving like that.

Have you made a video about coping with tropical heat 24/7? We’re in our early fifties, comfortably retired and have a desire to do what you’ve done. But coming from Scotland where it’s fairly cold 8 months of the year, how do you cope with long term heat and for us, not just the usual two week holiday abroad. I appreciate you’re from Hawaii which is a tad hotter than here, but we’re trying to collect as many tips as possible about this. This is a great video, you are bringing up good subjects, being honest and frank is what we need, to much BS going around, over promising and under delivering, it helps no one and is dishonest. Financial freedom is no accident, financial freedom gives us real freedom to choose where we want to live and how we want to live. You have to plan for financial success when you are younger, or you will certainly fail in retirement. The issue with most people is they do not want to do the work, they want everything all the time, no thought for the future, when the future comes they complain that the world is against them, when in fact they ruined their retirement by not planning and making sacrifices, there is no free lunch, we have a whole generation of 20-40 year olds that have zero clue about finances, or planning for the future, they have an entitles attitude, the real world has no interest in them. Our generation can fix anything and rarely pay for anybody do do anything for us, we cut our own hair, repair our own vehicles, renovate our homes (for flipping and making $$$$$) we are OK with not having the latest of everything. I am now 64 and have over 2 million in an investment portfolio. This was no accident!!!

I am still watching some news. So agree about the evil side affects. But still got depressed while in Thailand and Cambodia after some bad choices. I do want to return this winter, better prepared. Anyway, you might consider Nicaragua and El Salvador. Great mountains and beaches. Nica is one of the safest countries down there. And Salvador is doing that Bitcoin thing. Many expats there.

They don’t even call or send me a letter haha
My car was stolen Memorial Day here in Leftists Denver, CO. Police don't come out for auto thefts anymore. Took them 10 hours to call me back and make report over phone. Only had liability so goodbye car. Had my kidney dialysis gear in the car. Can't leave the country - stuck on dialysis machine 3 times a week for 5 hours each time. I only exist to make them rich $$$. America.
