How do you find those type of deals on rooms? That is what I want to know. I don't want to end up in Thailand in an expensive tourist hotel.

I that’s the best way of looking at things . I agree with you 100% . All my money goings to bills and if I was living in SE Asia I would have a lot of extra money to invest . I have to young boys and i worry about them having to go fight a war , so the rich can get richer .

As to FX, no financial advice, current spots and trends: 36.586 Thai Baht (THB) = $1USD, devaluing since Jan 2021 but is currently at historical resistance with pressure building up, meaning that I would convert USD to THB if I planned on staying there for a little while; 4.696 Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) to $1 USD, showing a devaluing trend since 2011 and currently at highs of the 1997-98 crash, currently fighting against the support trendline at this time, so you may want to accumulate half of your budgeted MYR if going to Malaysia during the summer, or just wait as MYR could revisit the highs and even break through 4.8 depending on many other variables, if not, I don't expect it to go below 4.5. For the Indonesian Rupiah 16279 IDR to $1 USD, the IDR devalued over 11% since the beginning of the year and is currently sitting at the highest levels since May 2020. If all else remains constant (which rarely happens), we should see a continuation into 17000 IDR by the summer. No financial advice, just theories. All of these currencies are due for a technical retracement looking at the charts, meaning that they should regain value relatively soon against the USD because of the historical resistance they are currently positioned in, and, it is especially more plausible if the dollar loses its strength like if the Fed lowers the rate, for example, or other intervention by the local govs to artificially keep their currencies from devaluating further, unfortunately, these fiscal policies cost a lot of money so each govs will have to ensure to increase their GDP by ensuring the development of its great policies needed to ensure economic prosperity for all stakeholders. AMEN to all you said! I feel the same, however, as much disgust as I feel for where our country has gone, my cart is still hitched to this horse. Doesn’t matter if I decided to move to an igloo in Antartica. I still would be required to pay taxes in the U.S., and I’d still be a slave to the stock market here. If everything crashes and burns, it would take my life savings down with it. I love watching you travel the world, and am envious! I’m not in a position to cut the cord and go (I can go for shorter periods of time) but I love watching others be able to do that, living the dream.

Great video. Thailand looks wonderful. We’re at the stage of trying to sell everything. Waiting for my husbands social security to come through and waiting for his mothers estate to settle (so we have investment money) Then we’re off to East Asia. As a non-American I have never seen a more toxic country than the U.S. when it comes to politics. From my perspective it looks like A GIANT MENTAL HOSPITAL. You are doing something right, because every day you have a smile on your face. I noticed in my wifes small farm town of Phonhong. Laos, the people are dirt poor, by western standards, but you better believe they smile every day. No stress, no taxes, easy lifestyle. The Lao PDR, Peoples Democratic Republic. Had this dream, two nights prior, was walking out on our property, when I reached the summit cliff, I put my arms straight up and was instantaneously removed from earth, found myself on a platform that encompassed the moon , I was walking the platform, observing the earth , in complete euphoria. You could say I've discovered that I am psychologically disconnected from America. -. The reasons are innumerable.

Democracy makes everyone's opinion equal. Sounds nice, right? Well, I'd be willing to bet that every one of your viewers has a cousin, uncle, grandmother, or sister-in-law who believes in some wacky shit. The healing power of crystals, bigfoot, horoscopes, flat earth, vaccines causing autism - just the stupidest shit anyone could dream of. These are the assholes whose votes count for exactly the same amount as yours. While the U.S. was never actually a Democracy, it allowed 1/3 of its republican system to pretend, which is on par with some of the ancient precursors. (E.g. Athens was a purported democracy, though only the wealthiest ~25% actually had a vote.) Even the founding fathers didn't trust the masses, though, and filtered the democratic elements through bottlenecks and areas of oversight, like the electoral college and the fact that the least representative chamber of congress (the Senate) is the highest house. But, like, who cares, nerd? Fair question. There are a lot of reasons you see expats, passport bros, and FI/RE types looking elsewhere for secure retirement settings, and one of the primary factors is that the U.S. has long been a wild west of capitalist indulgence where the aristocracy makes guaranteed growth, but even a clever hot dog salesman can become a millionaire if he has a good idea and works hard. America just keeps getting more American. It's the best place in the world to make money, and one of the most wasteful places to spend it. Hence geoarbitrage. I'll be seeing you, and the other expats with the right idea, in about a year. Closing in on FI, and ready to pull the plug and RE.

Is a US citizen allowed to travel between the different countries and stay the maximum time allowed (eg 3 months) indefinitely.., so it becomes a merry-go-round of border runs each time you get to the end of the maximum time (eg 3 months)? And can that go on and on, eg travelling to Thailand, then after 3 months, go to Malaysia, then to Vietnam, then back to Thailand, to Malaysia etc etc? Thanks
