- They call the Toyota 4Runner the mini-van of the off-road world. But it is more than capable with a few of the right upgrades. We headed over to LGE-CTS Motorsports to get things setup.
First up is an Icon Vehicle Dynamics Stage 3 suspension complete with 2.5 series coilers and billet upper control arms featuring Icon's Delta Joint for both travel and durability.
Out back, new coil springs and billet lower link arms are installed and a set of Yokohama Geolandar X-AT 285/65R18 and Black Rhino Dugger 18x8.5-inch wheels with replaceable rock guard rings finished things off before heading to trails in Big Bear.

Really wanted to see you guys hammer the suspension the same way you did the stock at the beginning. Hard to make a comparison otherwise. Otherwise, very enjoyable and informative video of the S3 install, thanks!
Great setup! Just installed some Icon's on my Tacoma... can't wait to hit the dirt.
Nicely done gents, Thanks for taking the time to share!
7:50 that steering rack boot😲..
Where is the overlook with the amazing view near the end, about 8:45? I'd like to visit there in my own 4runner!
What did the mechanic adjust the heim to? Is this something the alignment shop does?
Nice. If I were you, I would change a skid plate. Mine is lifted and have TRD skid plate.
In the next episode we changed it to a Victory 4x4 Skid plate!
You've already shown this?
Liked the video. How is the on road ride quality with the Icon stage 3? I hear it can be a little too stiff. Been looking at the Icon stage 2 but still kinda on the fence with some of the reviews and the stiffness of the ride. Is this something you have experienced?
Rides insanely well on the road, the difference between Stage 2 and 3 is the rear link bars.
Are you sure you didn't put the rear link bar on the wrong side upside down because you had to take the grease ports off for clearance? Just a question because if you did it the opposite way you did it should have been fine
Did this 4Runner have the KDSS? For the icon lift they said it’s required to have the 54200 rear adjustable track bar. Did the lift kit also come with that if it did?
No, it is an SR5, no KDSS. Didn't come with a track bar, that is only on Stage 6/7 kits.
How much did the suspension and install cost??
It’s like 3500
Would you say that this is better or same same as a fox setup?
Also is it practical for using as a daily?
Much better, the control arms and link bars you dont get on the TRD setup...it is used as a daily driver and rides great.
I didn’t see any trails a Prius couldn’t do.
As the owner of a Prius with an underside that's scratched all to hell, I agree.
What’s the lift front/rear on these kit boss?
On the website it says adjustable up to 3.5" front lift, 2" rear coils.
