  • Fixing the weak and slow hydraulic 3 point hitch on my ford 1910 tractor. We did a fluid and filter service as well as replaced the hydraulic cylinder seal on the piston. Some of these repairs can apply to many other model tractors such as the ford 1710 and i believe the 2110 as well as others.

    The nut on top of the main injection pump next to the 3 fuel lines requires 8fl oz of 10w 30 oil every 50 hours to lube the pump.

    Great video. In your case you did not have to bleed or prime the Hydraulic pump after draining all the hyd oil. Just crack open or remove the allen bolt on your hydraulic pump as you turn the motor over without letting the motor start. You'll see lots of air bubbles coming out. .

    Good job! Your fluid is nasty due to water in your system. Replacing those seals surly will help keep water out. In had algae in my hydraulic tank once, the fluid looked a lot like yours but chunky.

    Just curious where you bought your dipstick for the transmission. I’ve seen a few different ones but I decided just to order the fill cap/plug. Had to chisel the old one out bc it seized up. But I’ve got the original shibaura sd2200 which is the same tractor basically.

    That cylinder came with flat part down, but honestly it probably spins inside the cylinder overtime especially when you have a non functioning cracked seal

    you all might be aware the owners manual on the 2110 says to put oil in the injector pump when you change the engine oil.dont know why unless the injector pump gets oil from the engine? the 1910 and 2110 are very similar machines. there is a plug in top of the pump you put the oil in . but it doesnt say how much.

    • @averybryant
      @averybryant  Před 3 lety +1

      That is true, only some models capped for it, the 1910 did not but if you manual says to do it then you should. They do get their oil from the engine.

    Great video, I have the same tractor and was wondering what type of hydraulic fluid you used? I buy most all my parts from the New Holland dealer, because they are local, but the Hydraulic fluid they recommend is almost $100.00 for 5 gallons! I was looking for a less expensive alternative, but still quality oil.

      Thanks for watching! I used the Traveller Brand in the black bucket from Tractor supply. Its just called Universal Tractor Trans/Hydraulic Fluid. As far as other brands as long as it meets the ford 134 requirements you should be fine

    Great video. I just bought a Long 320. From the research if done so far is it's a Ford knockoff. My three point is not working as well. I found this videos and was wondering if anyone knows anything about the long tractors. I drained the fluid and it was milky which tells me it probably had water in it. The only filter I found was in the power steering reservoir. I would also like to know if there is a piston seal I need to check. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Do not use WD-40 on any seal. WD-40 was designed as an industrial solvent to clean industrial machinery and parts, it will, if left on any type of rubber, plastic, or petroleum based seal and not completely cleaned off it will destroy your new seal and you’ll be right back at it again.
    Just a PSA.

    • @averybryant
      @averybryant  Před 3 lety

      Thanks for the tip. So far its held up fine, I suppose the hydraulic oil probably “washed” it off from the seal

    • @reedhryals7007
      @reedhryals7007 Před 2 lety

      It's for water displacement that's what the wd stands for

    • @mattfleming86
      @mattfleming86 Před rokem

      It's not as aggressive as some folks make it out to be.. but it is still not great to use general purpose. It degrades stuff, and in presence of oxygen it turns into sticky varnish.
      For hydraulics, use a dab of hydraulic oil. Mixing anything with hydraulic oils, even mixing different grades/specs CAN cause problems, especially in setups that have a transmission attached. I wouldnt want to put wd anywhere in my trans case for that reason. not worth losing a detergent package over.
