If you haven't discovered Lanotec yet then listen up. I have been using Lanotec as corrosion protection on my 4WDs and pretty much everything else for the past 30 years and the results speak for themselves. My 1942 Willys Jeep get a good coating of Steel Seal before any major trip, especially beach work and it is still in mint condition. Same for my old 40 Series Milo, in fact I reckon it was Lanotec that kept her going for many years, and my new truck Milo 2 is getting the same treatment.
If you use one of the Lanotec spray bottles it takes about 20 minutes to apply and you would need about 1.5 litres for a decent size 4WD. Best to wash the underbody down with a degreaser like Citra Force first to remove any dirt and sand. I have switched from the Heavy Duty Lanotec to the new Steel Seal for the underbody as it dries less tacky so it doesn't collect the sand and dirt as much. The Heavy Duty or General Purpose Lanotec is still the go for everything else as it acts as a lubricant as well as providing corrosion protection.
Don't be fooled by the snake oil claims of the electronic corrosion protection products, Lanotec is made from natures own ultimate oil Lanolin that comes from sheep's wool. If you ever come across an old sheep shearing shed out bush take a look at the nail in the wood or on the ground, odds are they will be in near perfect condition from having lanolin rubbed on them regularly.

Great clip Roothy, and I've recently bought some Steel Seal + hand-pump spray pack from the Roothy's store. I've sealed the bottom of my Mitsubishi Challenger (for the most part) and surprisingly not much is sticking, given the slightly 'tacky' nature of the spray once dry.
A couple of questions, given your longer-term experience with the stuff:
    1) It says 'avoid contact with rubber' (I'm using the hand pump sprayer as mentioned, not the aerosol). Glenn @ Lanotec said it's fine on rubber (bushes, tubing etc) but when I was applying it I was wearing the thin latex gloves and they started coming apart about half way through, so I'm a bit concerned (I know that thin latex gloves are not the same as fuel line and bushes, but I was worried that the principle of rubber breaking down over a longer time may still apply under the vehicle).
    2) I'm waiting on an order of CitraForce degreaser (also from Roothy's store) and will be using a separate hand-pump sprayer to apply this when it's time to clean the underside of the vehicle and reapply Steel Seal. Just wondering, with the CitraForce, do you spray this indiscriminately under the car or would you advise avoiding contact as best as possible with rubber and plastic under the vehicle?
    Appreciate your time! Cheers.

I've tried Lanotec Steel Seal and it's good, but there must be a spray-on, wipe-off method to it. Otherwise all the road grime sticks to it. Not sure if that's normal.

I have found it very sticky also. I think the idea is to go and drive a dirt road or seven to dust a "layer" on it

it takes about 12 hours to dry properly. It is still slightly tacky when fully dry which is what enables it to remain flexible and not flake off. You may get some road grime sticking to it and some sand, but much less than with General Purpose or Heavy Duty Lanitec. To degrease and clean the underbody I always use Citra Force. Cheers
