The camry is built to serve a purpose. Its vanilla on purpose because it doesnt offend anyone and does everything well and nothing particularly brilliantly, Its an all rounder!
And the V6 can outrun things you wouldnt think it would :P

Toyota stopped selling the Camry in Europe in 2004, so whatever you were talking about, it wasn't a "European Camry." Maybe you were thinking about the Toyota Avensis, but that is not a Camry. The Avensis was made to be a very different car.

I would consider the SE trim for Camry especially with the V-6. Its wheels has a sporty feel. Sorry, CR, I'd consider the SE trim first. For hybrids, I'd consider the Camry Hybrid as well as the Fusion Hybrid. I'm not so keen on the Prius' dash layout.

That georgetown USA plant made decent camry's until 5th gen camry (02-06) was discontinued. It looks like this model has vastly improved initial quality over the attrocious 07-11 model but its too soon to say anything about long term durability but I wouldn't expect this thing to be as trusty as your 4th gen camry. The 87-01 camry's seem to have magic figured into durability that Toyota hasn't been able to touch since the 06 model.
Accords are still built well.... id wait till 2013 though

I have a 1999 4-cyl Toyota Camry XLE; it has over 250,000 miles on it and it still kicking. It is one of the last ones imported from Japan before Toyota started making them in the US. I have not had any problems with this car; all I have done is the usual wear and tear care. I am inching not to buy another Toyota since Toyota has been making them in the USA with all the recalls that have occured since producing cars in the US.
Does anyone have any suggestions on other cars?

the new Camry def is in the top chart for me, i mean its not that good looking like the Sonata or the Optima, but offers more space, gas, and cool nav features.and a good background of reliability, but the competition is going to get intense when the new Accord, Altima, and Fusion arrived next year

I'm already seeing alot of these on the road, camry has proven to be unbeatable, but by the end of this year lets see because the 2013 Fusion is a very nice automobile, I always compare the Camry Accord and Fusion because those are the real strong contenders the Sonata is nice but it still haaaaassssss a long way to go.

Doesn't really compare to Ford and their sync system. Even on a above basic model the SE you can get the sync system. And the touch screen navigation and sync system is the same throughout the model range that is available with it so I don't give Toyota much props for adding different levels of driver aid and functionality.

I am a devoted Camry owner and I have owned owned one of every generation but but this short lived is short lift Gen 7 Was by far my least favorite. Toyota cut cut so many corners when making this one. I thought that the interior plastics a sticks felt cheap and wind noise intruded into the cabin much worse than the other generations. I wasn't the only one who felt this way play considering pittering at this generation generation literally only lasted 2 years. Perhaps it was a combination of the Cheap interior, Noisy ride, Ridiculously cheap tires that Toyota put on the car to get it out of the show room ( Good year libertys), Is the awful rear end styling, Or perhaps the awful crash test results We're just a few of the reasons why Toyota Toyota took this design dime behind the barn barn and shot it? Considering how many major major flaws Toyota encountered with the 6th generation Camry ( An automatic transmission that couldn't keep up with the new V6) As well as the poor fit and finish At least in the early versions versions would have taught Toyota a lesson but but the bean counters SIM 2 have too much influence over this 1 this 1 as well. 2012 was a rough year for both Toyota and and Honda under who had to redesign their civic after only one year. Personally I think that the 4th generation was the best And most reliable generation Camry (97-01). They took everything that was good about the at the 3rd Gen And made it better Followed by the current generation Camry. I still drive my 2000 Camry with with 453 K miles on her. 453 K trouble free miles by the way. I also drive at 2019 Camry XLE With just under 29 K Trouble free miles. Here in Miami Beach we probably only Have 1 or 2 weekends of weekends of good weather left before the oppressive pressive heat starts so I plan to send and a good chunk of my weekend Giving my older 1A complete delete detail tale inside and out. She definitely isn't isn't the newest car in my and my gated subdivision but she's definitely 1 of the shiniest And most cared for. I joke that She has so many Coats of Nu Finish Car wax that she's basically bulletproof. Heavic owned her since she was new I take real pride in in taking taking care of her because because she's taken such good care of me over the years. I made my last car payment March of of 2005. When I bought her I was a Dumb broke ass college kid That was mocked for buying a "a" old man's car". I had been driving my mom's i'm's old 80 nineighty 9 Camry Camry DX hand-me-down And no matter how mean and how brutal brutal I was to Ito it she never let me down either neither so when it came time to buy my 1st new car there was no question on which 1 it's 1 I was going to buy. Armed with my Consumer Reports II went into the Toyota dealership Determined to buy one. My son jokes with me that I take more pride in bragging about how many miles I have on my Camry on my camera then I do you breaking up bragging about my my "prodigy" a" son who graduated from the University of Miami miami with his CS Engineering degree. I remind him that that the Camry has been far less expensive and safe and has given me far less headaches then "my prodigy son"🤣🤣🤣

It handles as well as a BMW 5-series, and its actually better looking, and built better. There is nothing that looks cheap in the new Camry. The boy doing this video has very poor taste if he thinks the new Camry is just a family car. I would guess he is circumcised ! Poor yank boy.
