Sol0 lol its certainly powerful enough to run Overwatch, just not as optimally as you'd like. I'd say it should do around low settings, at 720p with 30 ish FPS.

Zombie Ghost at a normal price of 800 bucks I doubt it even if it was any stronger than the switch, which it isn't or at least the switch is optimized better, even my 10 year old PC with a measly 9800gt and core 2 quad can run Skyrim better

This would be AMAZING for games like Spelunky, Shovel Knight, Meat Boy, and emulated retro games. And the fact that it can also run more demanding games at a decent level is impressive!
Fuck the haters! Grrr, that little thing is so sexy! It reminds me of my old retired Droid 2, one of the best smartphones I ever had. This is the sort of thing I can see myself spending money on if I had the extra money, just to fuck about and satisfy my geeky needs. Give me a 128gb SD card, a fuckton of roms and emulators and this baby can easily replace the Switch for me.

I'll totally still get a Switch when I can, buuut, I wouldn't mind having one of these for the in-home streaming and emulating old games, so I can play them laying down on my couch or in bed. I wonder if this thing would be able to emulate 3DS games once the emulator being worked on for it has become far more developed?

Why are nintendo fanboys downvoting this lol. It was obviously intended as a joke... Plus he is just making the point and rightly so (I own a shield tablet Aka switch 0.5) that the switch isn't as unique as people are making it out to be. Which he is right about, I used to sit down with my shield controller and tablet and play n64 games all the time looking beautiful at 1080p. I've got a switch pre-ordered but cmon people the switch isn't a unique idea. It's the most well pulled off iteration of a gaming tablet yes, but the idea is not unique.

Provided the network is good, i dont see why not. Any version of win10 (even the shitty phone version that HP seem to love) supports xbox streaming. As for native controller support, no idea!

Got two of these back in November. Good to know the build quality improved. I love the Win but some days I feel a bit like I paid to be a beta tester. FYI, if you get one of these, check the /r/gpdwin subreddit for a bunch of tweaks to get it running smoothly. Disabling XboxDVR and Fast Startup in Windows is a must.

This is really interesting, with emulation and steam you can practically have a massive library of games.
I really do hope to see more devices like this from other companies in the near future. This is exactly what I've been asking for for years!

Very cool, but very niche. Especially at $400. If I had a kid who wanted to play Minecraft PC or something that could be pretty interesting, or maybe as a small steam machine on the go

I love that you said "Steam Companion" because that's the best way to think about it for people who have 100s of games on steam. Other things to consider with this:
-playstations streaming service PSnow is supported on PC, you could stream PS3 games to this
-Getting this with Humble Bundle Monthly would give you a nice flow of games that might see more use on this playing them mobile
Kudos @Blunty! I've been using mine for a while now, and I can tell you that while not ideal for the office, it is AMAZING for quick "on the fly" work stuff. GPD is currently working on a 7" productivity Win/Ubuntu UMPC, and are discussing what the next model of GPD WIN will be like. Personally, I'd love the next iteration to have improved button placement, click sticks, and of course, backlit keys (it's possible; portable Bluetooth backlights have been around for years.). Still, both the GPD Win and Switch shall exist in my street bag. Anywho, enjoy your GPD Win!
Great overview Blunty! I've been on the fence about buying a GPD Win for quite some time, and your video was partially responsible for me going ahead and picking one up. I got mine a couple days ago en have been tinkering quite a bit.
One thing though: you said Gamecube Emulation was the line in the sand. It's not. I've been able to run Mario Kart, Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, Sonic Heroes, The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, all 100% speed with no slowdowns and in full screen. I'm absolutely blown away by what this little thing can do with such a relatively weak chip.
GameCube emulation is very much a possibility on the GPD Win.

You may have your fancy shmancy miniature computer thing, but the Switch has a satisfying clicking sound which this is seemingly lacking.
Would be great with a Core M3. Too bad they are way too much $. Hoping AMD can build upon this. We need a steam handheld.

I'd always considered one of these gamiing tablet kinda things, but was always quite unimpressed by them. This one seems like a step forward, though. Relatively affordable and it's finally getting there in terms of performance. The ones I'd consider "there" cost far more, obviously.
I think with some revisions, advancement in technology, and so forth; one of these could be ideal in a couple of years. Let's be honest, we all have 5000 indie games we never had the time to play, be it from Steam sales or Humble Bundle. :P

gearbest's pretty okay, They've been around a while now. I've brought stuff there myself (and had them send me various stuff for review a few times)... their shipping is a bit sluggish sometimes, but everything always arrived safe and sound without issue.

An interesting product. Any PC nut might come to enjoy this a lot more then Switch. That or people that don't have a good gaming PC. The only thing that lessens this is the fact that it's just a handheld PC, if you have a good PC already then you don't need this necessarily. In fact the normal PC would do better then the handheld because of the normal keyboard and mouse. Either way this does look cool as all hell. Probably won't buy it but eh, praise where it is due.

This thing is a lot neater than I thought it would be. It this level of horsepower though, I think being a console with games optimized for the hardware would really be beneficial though.
This little thing has been on my radar since I saw a video about last November, I hope to get one soon. It seems awesome for emulation, but I never considered in-home Steam Streaming which would make it even better!
I'm impressed with the games it runs at a stable framerate. The fact it doesn't heat up to concerning levels is also shocking. I definitely need one of these in my life! Would probably solve the FPS problems I have with some games on my laptop (not too powerful by today's standards, not too weak either. Was about medium when I bought it a few years ago). Plus, I would absolutely love to play games such as Dragon's Dogma and Saints Row: The Third on the go. Literally on the go. For the power it offers, it's incredibly cheap here in brazil (R$1.650 the cheapest, while my laptop was nearly R$3k). Definitely something I'll try to invest in.
