What a delightful young lady is Mia, very smart, fantastic sense of humour and adventurous ... going to Malaysia by herself it takes gumption. I wish her much success wherever she and her husband decide to settle.
She’s so pretty and has a great sense of humor. Whoever recently married her is a lucky guy 😊
Mia's English has gotten so much better over the years, well done, good for her.
For a while she was speaking English with a British accent. Now it's gone. Hmmm
@@jackietreehorn069 she also seemed to speak English learned from regular speakers, not just school learned English.
Paul, it is actually less expensive to live in KL. Rents are less for much better apartments. Food is outstanding. There’s no comparison to Filipino food. The variety is one of the best in SE Asia. People are friendly, then again I’m a friendly and respectful person. The infrastructure is excellent. I used grab taxi and there was no problem. It’s a very walkable city. It was very easy to make friends and they were very approachable. I would agree with Mia the KL airport is a little confusing where the Grab taxi pick up. I had an excellent hotel both times for less than Phillipines. I traveled throughout SE Asia 7 counties solo very recently. Malaysia - KL and Penang are great. If definitely consider living there. The long term visa situation is in flux. There is a way though to stay for less long term. Later this year the government will decide. Thailand is my second choice. In Thailand look for local restaurants. They are cheaper, fresh and excellent. I spent less there than the Phillipines.
Great video and its been so nice to follow Mia's life with her Paul also and wish you all the best for future. Keep producing these great videos Paul its always great viewing.
I really like Mia. I wish her the best life.
Currently between relationships after the last one exhibited the all too common sketchiness. And this girl Mia is exactly the reason I don't have a new gf yet; because I've determined I won't settle for less than a girl like this. Knowing there's great girls out there like this I'm just not going to stop looking until I find one matching her beauty and personality.
Smart move.
Went through 3 relationships with Filipina's before meeting my wife.
Happy I never married them now.
Each were much younger then me.
The sex was good but we really had nothing in common.
My wife is Filipina and closer to my age then any of the woman I dated before.
Take your time and good luck.
@@leonardmarlin4330 yup, I tend to date in the low twenties range here, with the exception of a long relationship that was on and off due to her tendency to steal from me. She was 32 when I met her, 36 when I kicked her out last year for the fourth and final time. Age is apparently not a perfect indicator of maturity. And so I've slowed down and am much more hesitant to allow any girls to move in. At least the interviewing process is enjoyable.
@@CarlWithACamera the older you are and the bigger age gap it is the more likely there will be conflicts in future. I know at 35 now typically the best age to date is around 27 to 40.
@@jacked6 back in my career days in the Boston area I dated separated and freshly divorced Filipinas that old guys had gone to the Philippines to marry and bring back. Never a recommended move. I was in my 30s then and contended with the two main issues that seem to infect Filipinas; either they're liars and scammers, or they're good girls but have kids. Now, at age 60, I'm finding the sane here; the honest + childless unicorns are few and far between. And the older you set your range, the more likely there will be kids in the picture.
@@CarlWithACamera oh most young Filipinas have Filipinos very early on as boyfriends and once they have kids the guys bail. There isn't much education in many parts of country and its why it's so overpopulated here. Finding a lady without kids can be found in Manila although she will be career oriented with very high standards. Many girls just have kids very early on. As someone who's 35 though I can't imagine being with a lady 50+ right now but maybe that's just me
Great Video Paul! It was good to see Mia’s never forgetful smile. I’ve watched her channel before too but when the other Paul went back to the USA she looked sad and not many videos so anyway I’m happy Paul realized he couldn’t let her go and I wish them both the best.
Mia is such a beautiful person.
I remember the first time you interviewed Mia on your channel Paul... Crazy and Amazing... 🙏🏻
Thanks for listening
You and Mia are a blast. Hope she gets to see Paul often. They're awesome!!
Another great interview Paul. Mia had a great story to tell of her visit to Mylasia.
That was a great interview. I never have laughed so much this early. Thank you, Paul and Mia. 👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Such a cutie. I love that she is so confident to just head out by herself on an adventure
This vlog reinforces why I really like Old Dog Paul. He's so laid back. He has the perfect personality for migrating to the Phils. One of my favorite statements he made was, (paraphrasing) "the great thing about retiring from the USA to the Philippines, is not having to "show up."" LOL! So true!!
True mate.
Great Vlog with Mia. Enjoyed it from start to finish.
This video made me cry 1 because I am so happy for you and Baby Mae. 2. The story of Baby Mae's fathers dream and prayers being answered. It makes me think of how it made me feel when I was able to help my parents or when I would do something to make my parents proud. Both incidents happened at least once.
Hey Paul. Trust you and Baby Mae are well. I'll be in the Philippines in two weeks. Can't wait and all the best!
Oh nice !
Enjoy the trip
Any specific stops? Dumaguete?
@@RetireandGo definitely Dumaguete.
@@oncall21 that’s great
I went there earlier this year
I hope to go about once a year
Loved the interview Paul. So funny. It cheered me up. Thank you.
That was the best video I’ve ever seen you make congratulations!😊
Great video Paul. You both have a such an awesome personality. Really enjoyed the perspective.
One of the best interviews you have done. Real positive view on life going on there
Paul. You were at your best today. And Mia has always come off on her channel as a great woman. Bless you both. Oh and I’ll be back again in late July. Will look you up again if your around.
I really do love Mia's personally and since of humor. She has a great channel as well.
Subbed to Mia. Watched her interview with you. Love that kid, she's good. Make tomorrow count brother. Be good
A very intelligent young lady. And she understands American Humor 😊✌️♥️
Filipina..modern are very aware of social media …it’s nothing new in the phil’s.
Great interview Paul, like you i retired and love to travel with my wife.
We love visiting family and friends while living here in the Philippines.
But once a year we get Yancy and get on a plane during our younger kids summer break.
We've been together 4 years and the first year my wife wanted to visit her niece and nephew on Okinawa Japan.
That went so well we took the kids to Madrid Spain for 2 months and had a wonderful time.
This summer the kids our out on July 7th we are going to get an apartment in Normandy France and plan a trip to Paris for 5 days.
We love living here on Samal Island in Garden City and always look forward to getting back home after being gone.
Great video Paul. 😊
Great interview,Paul
I haven't gotten it for our house yet, but a Hybrid inverter with battery backup will negate the effects of brownouts (for a time depending on battery capacity, usage, etc.). It charges the batteries from the grid, and can be combined with solar power and/or generator. The inverter will automatically switch to battery whenever there's an interruption. I'm sure there are CZcams videos on the subject for anyone who's interested.
Love both of your channels. Congratulations to you & Baby Mae on your marriage. I have been following Mia for a long while as well. She is a lovely young lady & congratulations to you Mia on your marriage with Paul. I wish I had been the doofus behind you in the interview so I could have shared my admiration and appreciation to you both.
Thank you so much!!
Mia is simply Perfect! I have been married to a lady from Bacolod for 49 years!
Mia reminds me why I married my wife! Great video Paul!
Very good video about all thing there and other countries
What gutsy young lady. Traveling alone to a new country. But is learning
quickly. I wish Mia good luck
Marty
Lol I’m reading the comments …the Filipina has a strong will….they are pushed that way due to their social experiences…you guys are are so naive.
She’s so natural in front of the camera. Very smart girl, and down to earth. Like the way she tells her stories. 👍👏😁
Wonderful interview with Mia, such a great sense of humor. I have a tendency to believe gossip is everywhere, you may not notice it at first while visiting a place, but once you’ve been there for sometime it will become more noticeable.
As for a good steak in the Philippines, the best I’ve had is the Texas Roadhouse down by the Asian Mall in Manila. Very comparable to Texas Roadhouse here in the States. But it is pricey, because the steaks are imported from the States.
Anyway thanks Paul for sharing and blessings to you and Mae.
Funny, interesting, informative interview.... you two have good talking chemistry
@@donaldcastillo2408 Paul is gifted with interview skills, he is really good in navigating interviews without taking over the talking.
You Know Paul, She Really Surprised Me When You Asked Who Were The Most Friendly People There and Her Reply Was The Japanese.
I Was In Japan to Change Planes, And I Felt Like The People Were More Like Robots on a Mission.
Quiet for The Most Part, But When You Did Here 1 Talk. They Talked in This Monetone Manor. No Inflection in Their Voices. Like Talking to Robots.
So To Hear They Are The Most Friendly in That Area Really Threw Me
What an interestiing beautiful lady. She is funny and not afraid to express her opinion. And she is not afraid to travel to Malaysia alone .... and unprepared. She learned a lot by herself. Food is great in KL , most people can speak English but traffic is a problem for pedestrian . Like Mia said, lodging is of higher quality compare to PI. And 100 ringit ( 1200 PHP ) for taxi was a major ripoff. Mia get a local sim on arrival at airport. Good luck.
Wow Paul another bull’s-eye.. Great interview very light and funny. Wow she’s a keeper what a wonderful laugh and smile and a great sense of humor. Yes when I check out the Philippines in September boots on the ground and if I think it’s worth coming back to stay a while… Malaysia is definitely on my radar.🇨🇦
Very Good Video/Interview Paul 😊. Mia is a AWESOME young lady. Very smart and I love the way she speaks. I have watched a lot of her videos 😊.
Stay Safe 💕 💞 🙏 🙏
Couldn't agree more!
Mia is always so charming. Thanks for sharing your excellent interview, Paul!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hey Paul, Baby Mae, Tada and Mia. Stopped following Paul and Mia when he left. Glad to hear they finally got married. I am sure they will love Thailand. Re-subbing.
I stopped when Paul came back. Don't like him
Great video and interview with a Very Beautiful Young Lady. She is So intelligent and Her Husband is one Blessed Man. May GOD BLESS YOU PAUL AND MAE and MIA and her Husband TOO 😇🙏😇
Delightful Lady Lucky man Bless them both
Very nice interview
wow thanks, great interview
Great interview Paul and Mia. You may he aware of the Vagabond adventures vlogger, he does sliw travel and writes reports on the countries he's been too, how to svope out apartments, food, and monthly budget for their life style. He has lot's of informative on travel
and Maylasia. His travel companion
for the last 6 years is from Malaysia. Hopefully useful content for you and Baby Mae
Thanks for the info!
Hey Paul my dear friend, awesome and funny video. Thank you for sharing brother.😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Thanks so much
I got stuck on the u.s. for a few more months so I can understand the frustration of it all. Hopefully everything goes well in your relationship.
Mrs Mia is such an engaging person, with many attributes people seek. Its a shame to see how she is so affected by the shallow perceptions of those around her. Always wish her well, delightful interview Old Dog #Crazyone
Great video Paul!! Of course all yours are great and informative. And funny.
I subbed to Mia.
Awesome, thank you!
Wow I wish I had met a lady like Mia, what a wonderful person.
Paul I can assure you that Grab in Kuala Lumpur is very effective and inexpensive. Two of us paid about $13 US to go from an airport hotel to city center which is a 50-minute drive by freeway. They are tollways but the Grab driver paid each one and they are very efficient and not crowded. Really enjoyed KL and plan to spend a month or so there next winter from Arizona.
BTW Grab can be put on an auto charge on your credit card and I took 5 minute rides in Langkawi and I'd see a .95 charge a few hours later. Crazy how inexpensive in Malaysia! Plus food is extremely reasonable with a lot of Farang food in the city center. Rooftop dining on the 34th floor was less than $40 for two for a 3 course dinner with huge city (skyscraper) view. Very safe in the city, always was comfortable.
You drew out, Mia, and got her talking, Paul! Nice interview. I've thought of working remotely, but those brown outs are a problem. 😢 Mia's Paul is MIA! It would be nice to hear from him again someday.
Thanks 👍
This young lady has a great personality, very congenial, and is extremely nice looking.
She’s got the whole package! Thanks, Mia.
Nice interview, Paul.
Lol have you been to the phil’s 😂
Our pleasure!
“Differentiate”, I believe was the word you were searching for🤔
Paul’s a very lucky Husband!!!
Happy Father’s Day Paul M.
😂 such a funny video. Really enjoyed this on. She’s funny girl. 😅
What a lady, congratulations to her on her marriage, very interesting video, I live in Sydney Australia and Malaysia is close, thankyou for the information.
New subscriber!! Your a cool 😎 cat Paul 👍. What a beautiful young lady!! Great personality with a smile that radiates her happy go lucky attitude!! Lucky man 👨 to have this Angelic lady 👍. Thanks for your videos.Blessings 🌺🌸🌼
Thanks for the sub!
Most fun interview !
Nice one
Great video Paul, I'm laughing with you
Mia is the sweetest young lady!!!
Interesting interview very funny 😊
Great vid
Hi Paul dog......Mia your so sweet and smart....fun listening to your stories.... yes traveling can be difficult! It's sometimes the little details...Best Regards all.
Dang. Restless. It's the perfect description of her husband Paul, and I"m afraid I will be exactly the same way. Lol. No wonder I liked watching him as well. How do we learn to just, relax, and do nothing? I can do it for a few days or a week, but after that, I'm like, next!
Great video
Your friend Mia is so beautiful and charming! What a great personality!
Every yr we go to Labuan, Malaysia awesome place, beautiful beaches food is out of this world and dirt cheap.
Delightful sense of humour!
She is a doll, love her cute personality
Yikes! Mia is a delightful young woman - I love her videos. I can't believe her new husband didn't prep her a little more before her travel. Holy moly.
I know!!
Hi Paul. I spent 3 years (2019 - 2022) in Malaysia for work but am a PR (10 years) in Philippines. Malaysia is definitely a bit more expensive than Philippines but you get quality in Malaysia. If you into street food Malaysian street food is way better than street food than here. KL is a very multi ethnic and diverse city and as with all large Metro cities has its shady side. Travelling around KL has a pretty good metro system, buses are there and if needed then obviously the ride schemes like GRAB is readily available just make sure you use authentic GRAB not the con drivers. Metered cabs are also available. Because Malaysia is an oil producing nation fuel is cheap so that helps to make public transport pretty cheap. Infrastructure in KL and all of Malaysia (West and East) is of 1st world standard, telecoms is very good, internet is fast and stable but as like Manila or any major city in Philippines traffic is a nightmare. West Malaysia has a reasonable Chinese population but also a big Indian population as well as indigenous Malay population but East Malaysia (Borneo) has a far greater Chinese percentage of population. Please bear in mind that Malaysia is a Muslim country, whilst alcohol is sold and can be consumed in public there are still some fairly strict laws related to alcohol. 1 Malaysian Ringgit = 12 Philippines Peso so Peso's don't go very far. If you have time and get a chance head up to Cameron Highlands which is Malaysia's equivalent of Baguio. Enjoy the trip buddy.
Had 3 brown out here this month. (Angeles City) but only for 30 min to 1 hour
Hi Paul I've just been watching your video and I can tell that Puerto Princesa has roving brownouts every day becauseof Palco runs the system andvirtuallynot maintenance. My brother lives there and I've visited him 5 times and next time I'll line up a visit Dumagetuete.
I like your feature about your wife and Honey. Very interesting personalities. Am starting to watch your interview with Mia now. But knowing you, this will turn out to be very interesting too. Am now your follower Paul.
Thanks so much 👍
It’s a wonderful country, my advice take 400 Ringets in smaller denominations, there are local banks, your ATM will not work and the international banks. The airport is 1 hour 15 minutes away from the city. Follow the taxi signs and then you’ll have a hassle free start. The Malay people are so gracious, but being a Muslim country Baby May will have to dress appropriately, I was there in March, fabulous 😊
I used the airport express train to the center city Kuala Lumpur
It was about 12 dollars US
Then either walk or monorails are 50 cents :-)
@@RetireandGo yes great idea, however, I arrived in early evening and wasn’t sure how to get to my hotel, your suggestion is good
idk which youtuber helps the other more. Obviously paul has a bigger channel, but I found Paul through Mia. And the dynamic between the two is amazing. Paul makes Mia more personable, questions back and forth are great. No offense Paul but sweet little Mia with her smile and kind attitude helps your videos, lol. I think this is a win win all around. maybe one day you two can have your spouses on too. All four of you, maybe just video of a double date with you 4 asking questions about life and comparing the funny things filipina have to deal with having older white guys, and the men having to deal with these filipina, hahaha. I think it would be enriching, personable, and just a fun video :)
What a fun video this was to watch with her infectious, laugh and smile and of course your laugh, Paul…. every time you laugh Paul you remind me of your father 😊
Thanks so much
Wolfgangs in BGC had a pretty outstanding steak. I actually had an excellent steak at the Dusit Thani in Davao City as well. Good interview.
Enjoyed your interview with Mia. By the way, the brownouts aren't only in Duma, but they seem to be more often. I see Iloilo had a multiday outage recently. I guess if it becomes unbearable, a generator might be a good investment.
That was a very good episode. Very informative and humorous.
I loved it ❤ I love your video's Paul old dog. By the way Happy fathers day. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you! You too!
Mia is such a sweetheart, she deserves a husband that is present and doing his job of looking after her. A clueless young attractive girl in a foreign country is not a good combination in my book. I thought he was a douche when he dumped her and went back to the states to work! Ha, what an idiot. I only follow her channel here and there. when I saw he'd come back I thought he had come to his senses.
Paul did well. Mia is gwapa.
I think when only there for 1 week you are in vacation mode and everything always seems great and better than where you came from. Definitely would need to spend more time living there to get a better feel for the country and the expenses.
Hi Paul. I just subscribed to your channel. Malaysia is much cheaper country to visit. Throughout the course of my stay there I never had any bad experiences. Malaysia has good internet. Get a local sim for data it makes your travel easy cos you can order grab without problem. They have good food like any other countries. Transportations are good too. Can’t really say that people are friendly maybe because they can’t really speak English like most people here in my country. But I met some good friends there when I was staying in a hostel as I travelled alone. I stayed in Johor Bahru or popularly known as JB it is only 40 mins from Singapore. I like the place it’s more relax than KL or Penang Malacca. They also have nice beaches. Try going to Mersing island they have crystal clear beaches there.
Malaysians speak better English than Filipinos.
I had a brown out of Panglou(Bohol) earlier this year.
This episode made me laugh so much, thanks 😂
Happy Father's Day Paul
Bless her she had a nightmare we shouldn't laugh but it was so funny.
It must be quite intimidating for a lone female traveller.
Keycards can be a nightmare. I booked into a hotel in London checked in got the card to open the room door didn't work.
Went to reception with my luggage 3 times for replacement cards and instructions like I was an imbecile.
In the end I said "get me the duty manager" explained the problem to her and said you come and open the door. She couldn't do it with my keycard or her master pass card. The maintenance guy got the door open the room hadn't been serviced so the cleaners couldn't get in.
We went back to reception she said to the receptionist "mark the room as blocked pending repair and give the gentleman another room."
Receptionist said "sorry the only rooms available are superior it's £45 a night more."
I was due to do a job at a nearby hospital who use the hotel regularly and had recommended it so I called the admin team explained the situation. They said "go get a coffee we'll resolve it and call you back."
I had about 2 sips of the coffee when the duty manager found me apologised gave me a new room key. Got a call from hospital admin 10 minutes later to check everything was ok. "I said yes that was quick what did you say to them?"
"Just reminded them how much business we do with them!"
Hey Paul, if you get out to Penang on your trip to Malaysia let me know... I watch you stuff as a US expat for a while now... would be fun to chat over a beer.
100 MR is about $21.00. KLIA is about 45minutes away from KL. Normally it's less than $20 to get into town, depends on time of day.
You will love KL. I've been many times. It's one of my favorite SE Asian cities. The food!😋 Everyone except taxi drivers are super nice. Use Grab, or choose a Muslim taxi driver (hat), but you don't always get a choice. That's where I would retire.
Now Mia is a more seasoned traveler. Everyone gets scammed once. Thankfully it's usually only a couple bucks.
You can get a hotel for $35-$50/night, but if you really want a treat stay at the Ritz Carlton for $140/night, beautiful experience. That's a motel price here in the US.
What's her channel again? That link is having problems
She is fantastic
Great interview she is such a little spitfire
Paul, at mid seventies you will chill even more 😊
Great interview, and a very beautiful young lady to go with it. At first, I thought this lady was spastic, in the way she didn't prepare herself for her trip!! Then, the hotel door and air conditioning she couldn't figure out?? Nutty woman I thought. Then, speaking about Malaysia made me change my mind, on her being weird! It would be cool to go see that area of the world as well, just gotta prepare yourself for it. Poor lady had her newlywed husband leave her soon after their wedding. This guy should've made up his mind, and get married after his trip.
That was a very funny video! 😆
You should start a new channel together... You both can transmit joy very naturally. To me at least.
Thanks for sharing! 😃👏👍
(we have a lot of brownout in Palawan)
Great idea!!
Great interview, Paul. Mia is a sharp cookie, with a good command of English and a terrific sense of humor. 👍
