    Hi, i have few question like to ask would appreciate if you could help me: i want to control non smart daikin air con in a room which i could not enter freely daily, i will be controlling it through apps however the people in the room will control the air con with the default remote control. In this scenario,
    #1: Will default remote be still usable? will it confused the app ?
    #2: can i know if the device status (on or off) through the apps?
    #3: if i set schedule/timer in the apps. will the default remote control timer overwrites the apps schedule it if they set timer on the default remote control?
    #4: Xiaomi Mijia Smart IR Blaster must be placed in that room or i can place in the living room just next to the room?

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  Před 3 lety +2

      #1 It will still work, it will be like having 2 identical remotes, each time when a remote operates changes the AC settings to the used remote.
      #2 No, not with this device as IR is not bidirectional in AC so you don't have feedback. You could use an AC/Gateway combo and that one will show you the power consumption so you will know that it works, see here for more details: czcams.com/video/B-yUPFBPYt4/video.html
      #3 Each time when you send an IR signal the AC will use that, so if the remote control removes the timer then the IR blaster will remove it also.
      # It works like a remote using IR so it has to be in the same room.

    I have it for a few months now, and it is really bad.
    The application takes ages to load, sometimes I have to restart it for it to show the device. And since the servers are slow the response times are also not good. For some reason the device goes into standby every few minutes, and you have to wait for it to come up, which basically adds unnecessary delay to whatever you want to use. Also you cannot connect it to Google Assistant.
    I have it connected to the homeassistant which works better because it has pinging, and this disables it from going into standby, but It has proven too much of a hassle, and I would recommend not to buy this device.
