Problems with Xiaomi Smart Home Devices

  • Aqara Hub / Xiaomi Hub Connection
These are the xiaomi smart home devices which require a hub to work. The setup sometimes requires 2-3 attempt to connect. Cus the hub could not detect it even within close proximity. But there are also times that it will connect at first attempt.
    Device Idling Aqara Wireless Switch
All devices work best if used frequently but if you go on a holiday or if you have not used it for a while. It goes into an idling mode. If it has a button, I’ll keep pressing it to revive it or I will just have to go through the whole setup again.
    Bathroom Aqara Wall Switch
Earlier this year, I did the setup video on this wall switch. So far it works really well. Maybe a 4-5 seconds latency on the app at times. There is no problem with the switch and it doesn’t really flicker with the T5. But with this LED it flickers maybe once a month.
However I have more issues with the wireless switches…
Camera Buffering and wouldn’t connect at times.

Great video, thanks for sharing. Just started with Xiaomi Mijia Home kit two months back and it got so addictive and I have ended up with 19 devices now😂. I have just got myself another Gateway V2 few days back which I set it on China server for some online purchased devices and kept my 1st gen gateway on SG server. Always felt that China server might be abit laggy, hence, most of my devices are connected to SG server.

Hi, thank you for your video. I'm starting out my own smart home network, and was looking to get some mijia connected appliances from taobao. If you could help with some questions,
Should I get the global hub and sign in to the china server or do I require a hub from china and sign in to the china server.
Any issues connecting the mijia account to google home thereafter?
    Thanks!

Hello! Very good videos here. I'm glad to have found your channel and learned that you have the same problem with connection too. It's quite annoying but considering the device prices and functionalities, it's still a very good system to have. And I love it and keep adding new devices almost weekly. FYI: I just bought an IR Controller right after watching your video!
Anyway, I'm using Xiaomi Mi Home Gateway (the old one) and am interested in getting an Aqara. I have a question whether the Aqara Gateway and other Aqara devices can seamlessly work with my existing Gateway, Mijia devices, and Mi Home App? I don't want to throw away my old ones and start setting up over again. If I can just add the Aqara as the 2nd gateway and then start adding other Aqara devices without having to change or give up anything, then I will be glad to buy and try. (I'm using Mi Home app with China Mainland server, Xiaomi Gateway 2nd Gen, a lot of Dafang cameras, and many other Xiaomi Mijia sensors). Please kindly guide me. Thank you!
